James Arnold PENDERGRASS. Born on 27 Oct 1921 in Carroll County, Tennessee. At the age of 80, James Arnold died in Bruceton, Carroll County, Tennessee on 28 Jun 2002. Buried on 30 Jun 2002 in Oak Hill Cemetery, Huntingdon, Carroll County, Tennessee. Resided in Huntingdon, Carroll County, Tennessee in Aug 1965. Occupation: Served as the Fire Chief for the town of Huntingdon, Carroll County, Tennessee. Alias/AKA: "Mutt".

Obituary: Services are 2:00 p.m. Today at Dilday Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Oak Hill Cemetery. Mr. Pendergrass died Friday. Survivors are wife, Aileen Pendergrass; daughters, Rita Kay Orr & Pam Elizabeth Davis; sisters, Flossie Meals, Lois Baumgardner & Ollita Kelly; & brother, L.R. Pendergrass.

Obituary: James Arnold “Mutt” Pendergrass, 80, of Huntingdon, died Friday, June 28, at Life Care Center in Bruceton. Services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, June 30, in the Dilday Funeral Home Chapel. Brother Doug Sellers officiated. Burial followed in Oak Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers who served were Bobby Hollowell, Bobby Brewer, Michael Allen, Doug Pruett, Mike Murphy, Harry Baker, Randy Crossett and Steve Price. Mr. Pendergrass, the son of the late Charlie M. and Eddie L. Montgomery Pendergrass, was born on October 27, 1921. He was a retired fire chief for the Town of Huntingdon, a member of the Tennessee National Guard, and a member of the Huntingdon Church of Christ. He was preceded in death by a brother, Larry Wayne Pendergrass; and a half-brother, John Merry Pendergrass. He is survived by his wife, Aileen Pendergrass; two daughters, Rita Kay Orr and Pam Elizabeth Davis, both of Lexington; three sisters, Flossie Meals, Lois Baumgardner and Ollita Kelly, all of Cedar Grove; a brother, L.R. Pendergrass of Huntingdon; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.



James Arnold married Mary Aline SEGRAVES, daughter of Linn Everett SEGRAVES (1900-1968) & Mary Elizabeth ROBERTSON (1894-1983). Born on 27 Dec 1924 in Carroll County, Tennessee. Resided in 14th District, Carroll County, Tennessee in 1930. Resided in Huntingdon, Carroll County, Tennessee in May 2003.

Lois PENDERGRASS. Born on 17 Sep 1924 in Carroll County, Tennessee. At the age of 81, Lois died in Huntingdon, Carroll County, Tennessee on 24 Jan 2006. Buried on 26 Jan 2006 in Carroll Memorial Gardens, Carroll County, Tennessee. Resided in Cedar Grove, Tennessee in Oct 2001. Religion: Huntingdon Church of Christ, Huntingdon, Tennessee.

Obituary: HUNTINGDON: Lois Fuller Baumgardner, 81, died Tuesday, January 24, at her home. Funeral services were conducted Thursday, January 26, at the Huntingdon Church of Christ with Brother Dan Winkler officiating. Interment followed in the Carroll Memorial Gardens. Dilday Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Baumgardner was born September 17, 1924, in Carroll County, to the late Charlie and Eddie Montgomery Pendergrass. She was a retired employee of Publix Shirt Corp. and a member of the Huntingdon Church of Christ.  She was preceded in death by her first husband, Arthus Carlos Fuller and three brothers, Henry Pendergrass, James Pendergrass, and Larry Wayne Pendergrass. She is survived by her husband, Willie H. (Bill) Baumgardner; two sons, Jimmy (Brenda) Fuller and Jeff (Wanda) Fuller; and a daughter, Patsy (Frank) Myers, all of Huntingdon; a brother, L.R. Pendergrass of Huntingdon; two sisters, Flossie Meals and Ollita Kelly, both of Cedar Grove; nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.


In 1944 when Lois was 19, she first married Arthur Carlos FULLER Junior, son of Arthur C. FULLER Senior & Mary DAVIS. Born on 18 Dec 1921 in Carroll County, Tennessee. At the age of 64, Arthur Carlos died in Huntingdon, Carroll County, Tennessee on 4 Nov 1986. Buried in Nov 1986 in Carroll County Memorial Gardens, Carroll County, Tennessee.

On 12 Dec 1991 when Lois was 67, she second married Willie Howard BAUMGARDNER, son of Priest H. BAUMGARDNER (1908-) & Verda ? (ca1909-). Born on 5 Nov 1925 in Carroll County, Tennessee. Resided in 7th District, Carroll County, Tennessee in 1930. Alias/AKA: "Bill".

409. Ollita PENDERGRASS. Born on 4 Apr 1927. Resided in Cedar Grove, Tennessee.

On 31 Jan 1946 when Ollita was 18, she married Dwayne KELLY, son of Noel Valentine KELLY & Pearl LEWIS (1887-). Born on 4 Jul 1928.

Larry Wayne PENDERGRASS. Born on 10 Jun 1935 in Carroll County, Tennessee. At the age of 56, Larry Wayne died in Carroll County, Tennessee on 4 Jul 1991. Buried in Jul 1991 in Christian Chapel Church of Christ Cemetery, Carroll County, Tennessee. Resided in Huntingdon, Carroll County, Tennessee in Aug 1965. Religion: Christian Chapel Church of Christ, Carroll County, Tennessee.

Obituary: Mr. Larry Wayne Pendergrass, 56, of Huntingdon, died Thursday, July 4 at his home. Funeral services were conducted Saturday, July 6, at 11 a.m. at the Christian Chapel Church of Christ. Interment followed in the Christian Chapel Cemetery. Mr. Pendergrass, the son of Mrs. Eddie Lucille Montgomery Pendergrass and the late Charlie Pendergrass, was born June 10, 1935, in Carroll County. He was owner of Betty and Larry Shoes & Repair. He was a member of the Christian Chapel Church of Christ, and past president of Huntingdon Band Boosters. He leaves his wife, Betty Kelly Pendergrass; three daughters, Lisa Haynie of Camden, Barbara A. Carter of Memphis, and Charlene Milam of Henderson, a son John Wayne Pendergrass of Huntingdon; three sisters, Mrs. Lois Fuller of Huntingdon, Mrs. Ollita Kelly. and Mrs. Flossie Meals, both of Cedar Grove; three brothers; Henry Pendergrass of Rutherford, James A Pendergrass and L.R. Pendergrass, both of Huntingdon; and four grandchildren. Dilday Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.


Larry Wayne married Betty L. KELLY, daughter of Lois KELLEY & Bertie THOMAS. Born on 12 Nov 1934 in Carroll County, Tennessee. At the age of 66, Betty L. died in Jackson, Madison County, Tennessee on 5 Mar 2001. Buried in Mar 2001 in Christian Chapel Cemetery, Leach, Carroll County, Tennessee.

Obituary: Betty L. Pendergrass, 66, of Huntingdon, died Monday, March 5, at the Jackson-Madison County General Hospital. Services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 7, at the Christian Chapel Church of Christ. Brothers James Roberts and Doug Sellers officiated. Burial followed in the church cemetery. Dilday Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements. Mrs. Pendergrass, the daughter of the late Lois and Bertie Thomas Kelly, was born November 12, 1934, in Carroll County. She was an employee of Walmart, very active in the Huntingdon High School Band Boosters for over 20 years, and a member of the Christian Chapel Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her husband, Larry W. Pendergrass, who died July 4, 1991. She is survived by three daughters, Lisa June Haynie of Camden, Barbara Carter of Huntingdon, and Charlene (Chuckie) Milam of Memphis; a son, John Wayne Pendergrass of Warsaw, Poland; a sister, Beatrice Colvett of Huntingdon; a brother, Budley Kelly of the Concord Community in Carroll County; and six grandchildren, Ryne Brent Haynie, Rachel Morgan Carter, Charles Wayne Haynie, Erin Beth Milam, Katherine Grace Carter, and Samantha Kelly Milam.

They had the following children:

iv. John Wayne. Born on 16 May 1973. Resided in Warsaw, Poland in Mar 2001.


411. Flossie PENDERGRASS. Born in Carroll County, Tennessee.

Flossie married Charlie MEALS, son of William Joseph MEALS (1905-1983) & Fronia May RAINEY (1910-1994). Born on 8 May 1927 in Carroll County, Tennessee. At the age of 68, Charlie died in Cedar Grove, Tennessee on 19 Feb 1996.

They had the following children:

In 1950 L. R. married Mary Margaret LEDSINGER, daughter of Henry Alfred LEDSINGER (1888-1936) & Mary Elizabeth MORGAN (1886-1967). Born on 14 Nov 1930 in Carroll County, Tennessee. Resided in Huntingdon, Carroll County, Tennessee.

They had the following children:
i. Charles Steven. Born in 1951.
