Family of Nancy Susan MEALS (74) & William Henry Harrison TAYLOR Senior

124. Julia Ann Lucinda TAYLOR. Born on 18 Nov 1861 in Henderson County, Tennessee. At the age of 82, Julia Ann Lucinda died in Henderson County, Tennessee on 10 May 1944. Buried in May 1944 in Rock Springs Cemetery, Henderson County, Tennessee.

Obituary: Julia Ann Lucinda (Taylor) Olive was born September 18, 1860. and died May 10, 1944, aged 83 years. She was married to Homer L. Olive in 1886, who preceded her to the grave three years ago. The couple had eight children, with two dying in infancy. Surviving children are John, Sam, Orb, and Ivory, all of the home place; Mrs. C.B. Pendergrass, this county, and Mrs. C.L. Barnett of Huntingdon; one brother, Bud Taylor, one half brother, Joe Taylor, Hot Springs, Arkansas; and one half-sister, Emma Taylor, of Bruceton. Rev. D.A. Bishop conducted the funeral service at Rock Springs Cemetery.

On 25 Dec 1886 when Julia Ann Lucinda was 25, she married Homer L. OLIVE, son of Howell OLIVE (1814-1888) & Martha Jane STANFORD (1831-). Born in 1860 in Henderson County, Tennessee. At the age of 81, Homer L. died in Henderson County, Tennessee in 1941. Buried in 1941 in Rock Springs Cemetery, Henderson County, Tennessee. Resided in District 8, Henderson County, Tennessee in 1870.

Obituary: Homer Olive, aged 84, died at his home near Rock Springs Friday afternoon. Funeral services were held at Rock Springs. Survivors are his wife and four sons, John, Sam, Orb, and Ivory; two daughters, Mrs. Sebe (Lillie) Pendergrass and Mrs. Clarence (Sudie) Barnett. Mr. Olive was one of the best known citizens in this end of the county and his passing is deeply regretted. --Louise Carrington, Reporter, Wildersville Items.

Lillian K. married Seabron Blaine PENDERGRASS, son of John Wesley PENDERGRASS (1839-1917) & Elizabeth Cerena KIRBY (1848-1890). Born on 26 Nov 1879. At the age of 73, Seabron Blaine died in Tennessee in 1953. Buried in 1953 in Rock Springs Cemetery, Henderson County, Tennessee. Resided in First District, Henderson County, Tennessee in 1930.

iii. Sam Leroy. Born on 20 Nov 1890. At the age of 76, Sam Leroy died in Tennessee in 1967. Buried in 1967 in Jones Cemetery, Wildersville, Henderson County, Tennessee. Resided in Henderson County, Tennessee in 1944.

Sam Leroy married Lois R. BURTON, daughter of Henry Cornelius BURTON (1875-1948) & Martha A. MILAM (1877-1914). Born in 1894 in Tennessee. At the age of 79, Lois R. died in Tennessee in 1973. Buried in 1973 in Jones Cemetery, Wildersville, Henderson County, Tennessee. Resided in 8th District, Carroll County, Tennessee in 1900.

iv. Orby. Born on 4 Feb 1893. At the age of 80, Orby died in 1974. Buried in 1974 in Rock Springs Cemetery, Henderson County, Tennessee. Resided in Henderson County, Tennessee in 1944.

Orby married Lucille A. ?. Born in 1900. At the age of 89, Lucille A. died in 1989. Buried in 1989 in Rock Springs Cemetery, Henderson County, Tennessee.

v. Sudie. Born on 23 Jul 1896 in Henderson County, Tennessee. At the age of 81, Sudie died in 1978. Buried in 1978 in Jones Cemetery, Parkers Crossroads, Henderson County, Tennessee. Resided in District 1, Henderson County, Tennessee in 1930. Resided in Huntingdon, Carroll County, Tennessee in 1944. Alias/AKA: "Sudie".

Sudie married Clarence L. BARNETT, son of Sterling Price BARNETT Senior (1862-1936) & Mollie BURTON (1874-1959). Born in 1896 in Tennessee. At the age of 63, Clarence L. died in 1959. Buried in 1959 in Jones Cemetery, Parkers Crossroads, Henderson County, Tennessee. Resided in District 1, Henderson County, Tennessee in 1930.

125. Samuel Henderson TAYLOR. Born on 16 Mar 1863 in Henderson County, Tennessee. At the age of 93, Samuel Henderson died in 1957. Buried in 1957 in Coffman Cemetery, Henderson County, Tennessee. Resided in District 1, Henderson County, Tennessee in 1930. Alias/AKA: "Bud".

In 1887 when Samuel Henderson was 23, he married Mary Elizabeth OLIVE, daughter of Howell OLIVE (1814-1888) & Martha Jane STANFORD (1831-). Born in 1864 in Henderson County, Tennessee. At the age of 76, Mary Elizabeth died in Henderson County, Tennessee on 1 Dec 1940. Buried on 13 Dec 1940 in Coffman Cemetery, Henderson County, Tennessee. Resided in Distict 8, Henderson County, Tennessee in 1870. Resided in District 8, Henderson County, Tennessee in 1880. Resided in District 1, Henderson County, Tennessee in 1930. Cause of death: Typhoid Fever.

Obituary: Mrs. S.H. Taylor, aged 76, died at her home December 1st, 1940, in the northern part of the county. She had spent her entire life in Henderson County where she was a member of the Methodist Church. Funeral services were held at Rock Springs Church with burial in Coffman Cemetery. Survivors include her husband of fifty-three years; three daughters, Mrs. Lula Ware of Center Ridge, Mrs. Lanness Cunningham of Lexington, Miss Macil Taylor, Rock Springs; and three sons, Jess Taylor of Center Ridge, John and Malcolm Taylor of Rock Springs. She also leaves one sister, Mrs. Bud Kee, and four brothers, Homer, Jess, John and Bob Olive, all of Henderson County.

Obituary: Mrs. S.H. Taylor, age 76, died at her home Sunday morning, December 1, 1940. She had a stroke of paralysis August 29th, and head been confined to her bed ever since. Funeral services were at Rock Springs Methodist Church, conducted by Rev. Sanson of Bath Springs. Burial was in the Coffman Cemetery. She was a member of the Methodist Church. She and her husband had celebrated their fifty-third wedding anniversary. Survivors are her husband, S.H. Taylor; three daughters, Mrs. Lula Wall of Center Ridge, Mrs. Lannes Cunningham of Lexington, Miss Macil Taylor of Rock Springs; four sons, Jess Taylor of Clarksburg, Leland Taylor of Center Ridge, John and Malcom Taylor of Rock Springs; fifteen grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; also one sister, Mrs. Bud Kee and four brothers, Homer, Jess, John, Bob and Olive, are of Henderson County. Two daughters preceded her in death. They were Beulah Taylor who died 25 years ago and Mrs. Brooxie Wilson who lost her life in a storm 2 years ago. A friend writes of Mrs. S.H. Taylor, as follows: "She reared a fine family who were a credit to their community and exerted every effort to make her suffering lighter. She loved her family and looked forward to their coming together. She bore her suffering bravely and cheerfully and was careful not be a burden to others, even when too physically disabled to care for herself. Many hearts are sad that she is no more, but by the Grace of God we hope to meet her in a better land. "She will be deeply missed in the community in which she has always been loved so long. She always gave a bit of happiness instead of taking happiness away. She loved the young people and she loved company. She always had lots of company because she was a person who made others feel better for having been with her." The Democrat appreciates this expression from one who knew Mrs. Taylor personally, and extend sympathy to the bereaved family.

vii. John A.. Born on 17 Jun 1903 in Henderson County, Tennessee. At the age of 82, John A. died on 15 Jul 1985. Buried in Jul 1985 in Parkers Crossroads Cemetery, Parkers Crossroads, Henderson County, Tennessee.

On 10 Jan 1929 when John A. was 25, he married Annie V. WILSON. Born on 14 Aug 1901. At the age of 66, Annie V. died on 15 Nov 1967. Buried in Nov 1967 in Parkers Crossroads Cemetery, Parkers Crossroads, Henderson County, Tennessee.

viii. Macel. Born on 25 Jun 1907 in Tennessee. At the age of 67, Macel died in Tennessee on 8 Feb 1975. Buried in 1975 in Hare Cemetery, Henderson County, Tennessee. Resided in First District, Henderson County, Tennessee in 1930.

Macel first married Strody Etheridge SMALL, son of William M. SMALL (1858-1921) & Mary Mack RUSH. Born in 1894. At the age of 76, Strody Etheridge died in 1970. Buried in 1970 in Hare Cemetery, Henderson County, Tennessee. Alias/AKA: "Strody".

Macel second married Elam FESMIRE, son of Hubert FESMIRE & Ada McDANIEL (1868-). Born in Sep 1894 in Henderson County, Tennessee. At the age of 85, Elam died in 1980. Buried in 1980 in Henderson County Memory Gardens, Lexington, Henderson County, Tennessee. Resided in District 17, Henderson County, Tennessee in 1900. Resided in District 1, Henderson County, Tennessee in 1910. Resided in District 1, Henderson County, Tennessee in 1920. Resided in District 1, Henderson County, Tennessee in 1930.

Elam Fesmire lived with his McDaniel grandparents in 1910 in Henderson County, Tennessee.

ix. Emmett Malcom. Born in 1908. At the age of 82, Emmett Malcom died in Henderson County, Tennessee in 1990. Buried in 1990 in Marlin Cemetery, Wildersville, Henderson County, Tennessee. Resided in District 1, Henderson County, Tennessee in 1930. Alias/AKA: "Mack". Military: World War II veteran.

Emmett Malcom married Willie Etta MARLIN, daughter of George MARLIN (1894-1974) & Maggie McDANIEL (1893-1970). Born on 25 Apr 1918 in Wildersville, Henderson County, Tennessee. At the age of 85, Willie Etta died in Lexington, Henderson County, Tennessee on 24 Dec 2003. Buried on 25 Dec 2003 in Marlin Cemetery, Wildersville, Henderson County, Tennessee. Resided in District 1, Henderson County, Tennessee in 1920. Resided in District 1, Henderson County, Tennessee in 1930.

Obituary: Services for Willie Taylor, age 85, were December 25 at Reeds Chapel. Burial followed in Marlin Cemetery in Wildersville. Mrs. Taylor died December 24.
