126. Asa Leroy MEALS. Born on 8 Mar 1875 in Tennessee. At the age of 83, Asa Leroy died in Clarksburg, 13th District, Carroll County, Tennessee in 1959. Buried in 1959 in Parkers Crossroads Cemetery, Henderson County, Tennessee. Resided in District 8, Henderson County, Tennessee in 1900. Resided in District 13, Carroll County, Tennessee in 1930. Occupation: Blacksmith, Clarksburg, 13th District, Carroll County, Tennessee.

On 8 Oct 1899 when Asa Leroy was 24, he married Nannie LESLIE, daughter of Stephen George LESLIE (1854-1926) & Mallisie Ellen PENDERGRASS (1856-1932), in Henderson County, Tennessee. Born on 26 Feb 1880. At the age of 93, Nannie died in Clarksburg, 13th District, Carroll County, Tennessee in 1974. Buried in 1974 in Parkers Crossroads Cemetery, Henderson County, Tennessee. Resided in District 8, Henderson County, Tennessee in 1900. Resided in District 13, Carroll County, Tennessee in 1930. Resided in Clarksburg, 13th District, Carroll County, Tennessee in 1932.

Obituary: Mrs. Nannie Leslie Meals died January 28th at Carroll County Nursing Home. Widow of A. L. Meals, Nannie was 93 when she died. Services were conducted at Clarksburg Church of Christ and burial was in Parkers Cross Roads Cemetery. A member of the Mud Creek Primitive Baptist Church, Mrs. Meals is survived by two sons,Clifford Meals and Howard Meals of Clarksburg, TN; a daughter, Mrs. C. H. Douglass of Lynchburg, VA, three grandchildren and six great grandchildren. She is also survived by a sister, Mrs. Cap Rosser of Memphis, TN.

ii. Clifford. Born in 1901. At the age of 87, Clifford died in Clarksburg, 13th District, Carroll County, Tennessee in 1988. Buried in 1988 in Blair Cemetery, Clarksburg, Carroll County,Tennessee.

Clifford married Iva GROSS, daughter of Alvis Marian GROSS (1866-1958) & Libby Arlene SCOTT (1878-1957). Born on 4 Jul 1904 in Carroll County, Tennessee. At the age of 80, Iva died in Clarksburg, 13th District, Carroll County, Tennessee in 1985. Buried in 1985 in Blair Cemetery, Clarksburg, Carroll County,Tennessee.

127. Pearl Ann MEALS. Born on 18 Nov 1877. At the age of 92, Pearl Ann died on 4 Oct 1970. Buried in Oct 1970 in Lexington Cemetery, Lexington, Henderson County, Tennessee. Resided in District 8, Henderson County, Tennessee in 1900.

On 17 Feb 1916 when Pearl Ann was 38, she married William Albert RHODES, son of Richard H. RHODES (1848-1912) & Mary Catherine FESMIRE (1849-1917). Born on 15 May 1877 in Henderson County, Tennessee. At the age of 72, William Albert died on 4 Aug 1949. Buried in Aug 1949 in Lexington Cemetery, Lexington, Henderson County, Tennessee. Resided in District 17, Henderson County, Tennessee in 1900.

James Sid MEALS. Born on 13 Nov 1887. At the age of 80, James Sid died in Clarksburg, 13th District, Carroll County, Tennessee in 1968. Buried in 1968 in Sellers Hill Cemetery, Clarksburg, 13th District, Carroll County, Tennessee. Resided in District 8, Henderson County, Tennessee in 1900. Resided in District 13, Carroll County, Tennessee in 1930. Occupation: Blacksmith.

Served in World War I.

On 15 Dec 1922 when James Sid was 35, he married Nola Haugton DOUGLAS, daughter of James Alexander DOUGLAS (1845-1926) & Harriet Emmaline BRAY (1852-1922). Born on 8 Aug 1890 in Henderson County, Tennessee. At the age of 81, Nola Haugton died in Clarksburg, 13th District, Carroll County, Tennessee in 1972. Buried in 1972 in Sellers Hill Cemetery, Clarksburg, 13th District, Carroll County, Tennessee. Resided in District 1, Carroll County, Tennessee in 1910. Resided in District 13, Carroll County, Tennessee in 1930.

James Douglas married Bonnie F. BEVILL, daughter of Sammie BEVILLE & ? ?. Born in 1932.


129. Frances Elizabeth MEALS. Born on 23 Nov 1890 in Henderson County, Tennessee. Resided in District 8, Henderson County, Tennessee in 1900. Resided in District 1, Henderson County, Tennessee in 1920. Alias/AKA: "Lizzy".

Frances Elizabeth married Robert Yancy TAYLOR. Born on 7 Sep 1889.

They had the following children:
i. Joe Alice. Born on 10 Oct 1921.

ii. Mollie Lue. Born in 1926.

iii. Jimmie Lewis. Born on 13 Oct 1926.

Effie MEALS. Born on 1 Jan 1894 in Tennessee. At the age of 37, Effie died in Alabama in 1932. Buried in 1932 in Coffman Cemetery, Henderson County, Tennessee. Resided in District 8, Henderson County, Tennessee in 1900. Resided in District 14, Carroll County, Tennessee in 1920. Resided in Milan, District 13, Gibson County, Tennessee in 1930.

Effie married William M. STANFORD. Born in 1882 in Tennessee. Resided in District 14, Carroll County, Tennessee in 1920. Resided in Milan, District 13, Gibson County, Tennessee in 1930. Occupation: 1910 - Yuma mail carrier. Occupation: 1920 - Dry Goods store - Yuma. Occupation: 1930 - Laborer - highway construction.

They had the following children:
i. Joe Willard. Born in 1914 in Tennessee. Resided in District 14, Carroll County, Tennessee in 1920. Resided in Milan, District 13, Gibson County, Tennessee in 1930.

iii. William G.. Born in 1919 in Tennessee. Resided in Milan, District 13, Gibson County, Tennessee in 1930.

iv. Catherine. Born in 1920 in Tennessee. Resided in Milan, District 13, Gibson County, Tennessee in 1930.

v. Janie Ruth. Born in 1925 in Tennessee. Resided in Milan, District 13, Gibson County, Tennessee in 1930.

vi. Infant. Born in 1932. Infant died in 1932. Buried in 1932 in Coffman Cemetery, Henderson County, Tennessee.
