109. Susie Florence MONTGOMERY. Born on 9 Apr 1909 in Tennessee. At the age of 93, Susie Florence died in Jackson, Madison County, Tennessee on 29 Aug 2002. Buried on 31 Aug 2002 in Browns Cemetery, Madison County, Tennessee.

On 24 Sep 1925 when Susie Florence was 16, she married Andrew Thomas JAMES (40) , son of Luke Lee JAMES (16) (1858-1938) & Betty Mae STANFORD (11) (1866-1941), in Henderson County, Tennessee. Born on 31 Jul 1908 in Henderson County, Tennessee. At the age of 68, Andrew Thomas died on 3 Apr 1977. Buried in 1977 in Brown Cemetery, Madison County, Tennessee.

110. O. B. JAMES. Born on 14 Sep 1917 in Henderson County, Tennessee. At the age of 84, O. B. died in Henderson County, Tennessee on 7 Jul 2002. Buried on 9 Jul 2002 in Sand Ridge Cemetery, Henderson County, Tennessee. Occupation: Farmer.

Obituary: Services for Mr. O.B. James were Tuesday, July 9 at 1:00 p.m. at Reed's Chapel. Burial was in Sand Ridge Cemetery. Mr. James, age 84, passed away Sunday, July 7, at his home. He was a farmer. He leaves his wife, Mrs. Ruby James of Cedar Grove, three daughters; Linda White and Lisa James of Cedar Grove and Brenda Pritchett of Lexington; three sisters, Susie James of Jackson, Berdene McDaniel of Jackson, and Hattie Arthur of Selmer, five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Reed's Chapel was in charge of the services.

O. B. married Rubylene McDANIEL, daughter of Oscar Lee McDANIEL (1902-1983) & Buna May BENSON (1908-). Resided in Cedar Grove, Carroll County, Tennessee in Nov 2000. Alias/AKA: "Ruby".

They had the following children:

Lisa married Ricky GILBERT.


111. Carrie Marie JAMES. Born in 1921. At the age of 79, Carrie Marie died in Tennessee on 6 Nov 2000. Buried in Nov 2000 in Beech Bluff Cemetery, Beech Bluff, Madison County, Tennessee.

Obituary: Services for Mrs. Carrie Marie Phillips are today, Wednesday, November 8, 11 a.m. at Reed's Chapel with burial in Beech Bluff Cemetery. Mrs. Phillips, who was 79, died Monday, November 6, at her home of heart disease. She was a homemaker and the widow of J.D. Phillips. She leaves a daughter, Nancy Crossett of Jackson; four sons, Terry Phillips, Charles Phillips, both of Huron, John Phillips and Carl Phillips, both of Beech Bluff; three sisters, Hattie Arthur of Selmer, Susie James and Berdine McDaniel, both of Jackson; two brothers, Shiley James and O.B. James, both of Cedar Grove.

On 27 Dec 1938 when Carrie Marie was 17, she married J.D. PHILLIPS, in Henderson County, Tennessee.

They had the following children:
i. Charles. Resided in Huron, Henderson County, Tennessee in Nov 2002.

ii. Carl. Resided in Beech Bluff, Madison County, Tennessee in Nov 2000.

iii. Nancy. Resided in Jackson, Madison County, Tennessee in Nov 2000.

iv. Terry. Resided in Huron, Henderson County, Tennessee in Nov 2000.

v. John. Resided in Beech Bluff, Madison County, Tennessee in Nov 2000.

Aubrey Lee JAMES Senior. Born on 26 Aug 1925 in Henderson County, Tennessee. At the age of 76, Aubrey Lee died in Lexington, Henderson County, Tennessee on 29 Oct 2001. Buried on 31 Oct 2001 in James Cemetery, Henderson County, Tennessee. Resided in Cedar Grove, Carroll County, Tennessee in Nov 2000. Alias/AKA: "Shiloh".

Obituary: Services for Aubry "Shiley" James, 76, retired from Milan Box Factory and farmer were Wednesday, October 31 at 2:00 p.m. at Blue Goose United Pentecostal Church with burial in James Cemetery in Cedar Grove. Mr. James died Monday, October 29 at Lexington Methodist Hospital. Surviving are his wife, Mary Catherine James; a daughter, Mary Helen Azbill of Cedar Grove; a son, Aubrey Lee James of Cedar Grove; three sisters, Berdine McDaniel and Susie James, both of Jackson and Hattie Arthur of Selmer; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Ben David James. Reed's Chapel Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.



On 28 Aug 1949 when Aubrey Lee was 24, he married Mary Catherine THETFORD, daughter of Reverend Benjamin Harrison THETFORD (1890-1950) & Willie Fay RUST (1892-1968), in Corinth, Mississippi. Born on 4 Mar 1933 in Henderson County, Tennessee.

113. Mary Birdeen JAMES. Born on 9 Apr 1928 in Henderson County, Tennessee. Resided in Jackson, Madison County, Tennessee in Nov 2000. Resided in Jackson, Madison County, Tennessee in Jul 2002.

On 11 Mar 1949 when Mary Birdeen was 20, she married Arthur Lee McDANIEL, son of Oscar Lee McDANIEL (1902-1983) & Buna May BENSON (1908-), in Corinth, Alcorn County, Mississppi. Born on 22 Feb 1928 in Lexington, Henderson County, Tennessee. At the age of 74, Arthur Lee died in Jackson, Madison County, Tennessee on 28 May 2002. Buried on 30 May 2002 in Highland Memorial Gardens, Jackson, Madison County, Tennessee. Resided in Jackson, Madison County, Tennessee in Nov 2000.

Obituary: Mr. Arthur Lee McDaniel, 74, died Tuesday, May 28, 2002 at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital. Funeral arrangements are incomplete at this time.

Obituary: Funeral services for Mr. Arthur Lee McDaniel, 74, will be Today, May 30, 2002 at 2:30 p.m. at the New Life Tabernacle with Rev. Travis Grimsley and Rev. Scott Bane officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Memorial Gardens. Mr. McDaniel died Tuesday, May 28, 2002 at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital. He was born in Lexington, TN, the son of the late Oscar McDaniel and Buna May Benson McDaniel who survives. Mr. McDaniel served in the Tennessee National Guard and retired from the City of Jackson, Street Department. He was a member of the New Life Tabernacle Pentecostal Church. Survivors include his wife of fifty-two years, Birdeen McDaniel of Jackson; seven children, James (Mickey) McDaniel of Henderson, Bonnie Knight, Joe McDaniel, Tim McDaniel and Anthony McDaniel all of Jackson, Jeff McDaniel of Darden and Judy Owens of Jackson; his mother, Buna May McDaniel of Lexington; two brothers, Charles McDaniel of Huntingdon and Paul McDaniel of Lexington; three sisters, Helen Singleton and Eunice Horn of Lexington and Ruby James of Cedar Grove; eleven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Mr. McDaniel was preceded in death by a brother, Luther Gene McDaniel. The family will receive friends at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.

114. Hattie M. JAMES. Resided in Selmer, McNairy County, Tennessee in Nov 2000. Resided in Selmer, McNairy County, Tennessee in Jul 2002.

Hattie M. first married Dennis ARTHUR. Born in 1915. At the age of 88, Dennis died in Selmer, McNairy County, Tennessee on 31 Jan 2003. Buried on 2 Feb 2003 in James Cemetery, Henderson County, Tennessee.

Obituary: Funeral services for Dennis M. Arthur, age 88, will be held at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, February 2, 2003, at Reed's Chapel. Burial will follow in James Cemetery. Mr. Arthur, a construction worker and constable, died Friday, January 31, 2003 at McNairy Methodist Hospital in Selmer. He was a member of the Blue Goose Pentecostal Church. He is survived by his wife, Hattie Arthur; four daughters, Mickie Wizer of Memphis, TN, Nellie Faye Lowrance of Dyer, TN, Kathy Suggs of Selmer, TN, Sherrell Huey of Cedar Grove, TN; two sons, Jerry Arthur of McKenzie, TN, Danny Arthur of Cedar Grove, TN and a sister, Verlie Ward of Bradford, TN.



They had the following children:

iii. Cathy. Resided in Selmer, McNairy County, Tennessee in Jan 2003.
