663. Mary Louise LESLIE. Born on 6 Mar 1904. At the age of 90, Mary Louise died on 22 Jan 1995. Buried in Jan 1995 in Parker's Crossroads Cemetery, Parkers Crossroads, Henderson County, Tennessee.

On 6 Jan 1923 when Mary Louise was 18, she married Meekins Clebert CARNAL, son of Meekins Clebert CARNAL Senior (1868-1956) & Susie W. BURNS (1871-1964). Born on 7 Oct 1902. At the age of 67, Meekins Clebert died in Henderson County, Tennessee on 27 Oct 1969. Buried in Oct 1969 in Parkers Crossroads Cemetery, Henderson County, Tennessee. Resided in District 1, Henderson County, Tennessee in 1910. Resided in District 9, Henderson County, Tennessee in 1920.

Cause of Death: Williard Jean Carnal was killed in a car accident.

iv. Patrick Lewis. Born on 15 Jun 1938 in Wildersville, Henderson County, Tennessee. Resided in Lexington, Tennessee.

Patrick Lewis married Janice Maetta PARKER, daughter of Edward Rosser PARKER (1917-1975) & Addie Mae BRUCE (1918-2004). Born on 28 Aug 1939. Resided in Lexington, Henderson County, Tennessee in Jun 2004.

No children were produced from this marriage.

664. James Steven LESLIE. Born on 3 Sep 1905. At the age of 87, James Steven died on 26 Feb 1993. Buried in Feb 1993 in Parker's Crossroads Cemetery, Parkers Crossroads, Henderson County, Tennessee. Resided in McKenzie, Carroll County, Tennessee.

James Steven married Bessie Mae KIZER, daughter of Roland E. KIZER (1885-) & Lela RUSH (1890-). Born on 4 Dec 1907 in Henderson County, Tennessee. Resided in District 1, Henderson County, Tennessee in 1920. They were divorced in 1959.

Occupation: School Teacher, Principal of Wildersville Consolidated School.

Ruth Mayrene married Ewell Edward PETERSON, son of Samuel Harrison PETERSON (1888-1943) & Hautie Elizabeth WILSON (1894-1978), in Henderson County, Tennessee. Born on 12 Mar 1911 in Henderson County, Tennessee. At the age of 73, Ewell Edward died on 30 Mar 1984. Buried in Mar 1984 in Parkers Crossroads Cemetery, Henderson County, Tennessee.

666. Joe Lewis LESLIE. Born on 6 Apr 1917 in Wildersville, Henderson County, Tennessee. At the age of 87, Joe Lewis died on 27 Nov 2004. Buried on 29 Nov 2004 in Henderson County Memorial Gardens, Lexington, Henderson County, Tennessee.

Obituary: Funeral services for Mr. Joe Lewis Leslie are scheduled for 1:00pm, Monday, November 29, 2004 at Broad Street Church of Christ in Lexington. Burial will follow in Henderson County Memory Gardens. Joe Lewis Leslie quietly passed from this life on Saturday, November 27, 2004, after a long struggle with Alzheimer’s Disease. He was born April 6, 1917 to the late Lizzie Britt and Lewis J. Leslie in Wildersville, TN. He leaves his devoted wife of 64 years, Josie Lee Rhodes Leslie, and two children, Nancy Lou O’Brien of Searcy, AR and Albert Lewis of Conway, AR. He also leaves several nieces, nephews, cousins, Nancy’s family of marriage, and many friends. His cheerful greetings and constant singing and whistling will be missed by all. Joe Lewis was a lifetime member of the Broad Street Church of Christ where he served as an Elder for many years before his retirement. He always enjoyed singing and being a song leader. He served four years in the U. S. Coast Guard during WWII and was a Post Commander of the American Legion in Henderson County. He owned the John Deere farm implement dealership in Lexington long ago and knew everyone in the county. His most recent profession was being a secondary school teacher for the U. S. Department of the Interior, working with the Blackfoot Indians in North Dakota. After retirement back to Lexington, he enjoyed church activities and working with senior volunteer programs in Henderson County. For those wishing to make memorial contributions, the family requests those be made to Freed-Hardeman University, Harding University, or the Broad Street Church of Christ building fund.




Joe Lewis married Josie Lee RHODES, daughter of William Albert RHODES (1877-1949) & Pearl Ann MEALS (1877-1970). Born on 13 Jun 1918 in Henderson County, Tennessee. At the age of 86, Josie Lee died in Lexington, Henderson County, Tennessee on 12 Dec 2004. Buried on 14 Dec 2004 in Henderson County Memorial Gardens, Lexington, Henderson County, Tennessee.

Obituary: Josie Lee Leslie peacefully passed from this life on Sunday, December 12, 2004. She had fought a long battle with Parkinson’s Disease. She was born June 13, 1918, to Pearl Ann Meals and William Albert Rhodes, in Henderson County, TN. She was preceded in death by her devoted husband of 64 years, Joe Lewis Leslie. She leaves two children, Nancy Lou O’Brien of Searcy, AR and Albert Lewis Leslie of Conway, AR. She also leaves several nieces, nephews, cousins, Nancy’s family of marriage, and many friends. She loved everyone and enjoyed having company so much. Her sweet smile and loving concern will be missed by all. She was a lifetime member of Broad Street Church of Christ and in recent months, even though unable to attend services, she never missed listening to Sunday morning worship on the radio. Josie enjoyed very much being a homemaker. She was an excellent cook, and even on the day of her death, she was making plans for Christmas dinner. Her love for family was shown in being an organizer of the Rhodes reunion. She never missed, even this year, and always called relatives to invite them. Josie was a member of the Extension Homemakers for many years, and she still reminisced about all the good times she had in “the club”. Being active in the American Legion Auxiliary was also an important part of her life in earlier years. Retirement involvements she especially enjoyed were volunteering at the local hospital and the log cabin visitor’s center at Parker’s Cross Roads. For those wishing to make memorial contributions, the family requests those be made to the Broad Street Church of Christ building fund.

They had the following children:
i. Nancy Lou. Born on 30 Mar 1947. Resided in Searcy, Arkansas in Nov 2004.

Nancy Lou married Dwight O'BRIEN. Born on 10 Jul 1933.

ii. Albert Lewis. Born on 4 Jun 1951. Resided in Arkansas in 2000. Resided in Conway, Arkansas in Nov 2004.


667. Willis Harold LESLIE. Born on 28 Feb 1919 in Tennessee. At the age of 36, Willis Harold died in Tennessee on 28 May 1955. Buried in May 1955 in Parkers Crossroads Cemetery, Henderson County, Tennessee.

On 26 Nov 1938 when Willis Harold was 19, he married Beatrice BURGESS, daughter of Eff Roy BURGESS (1892-1977) & Rudy Belle HALE (1895-1980), in Wildersville, Henderson County, Tennessee. Born on 10 Oct 1918 in Henderson County, Tennessee.

They had the following children:
i. Larry Conrad. Born on 27 Aug 1940 in Wildersville, Henderson County, Tennessee. Alias/AKA: "Butterball".

Larry Conrad married Mary Ann PLUNK. Born on 6 Jun 1945.
