Jewell C. Peterson, 89,of Clarksburg, died Sunday, October 18, at  the home of her daughter, Dorothy Hastings in Nashville. Services will be conducted on Wednesday, October 21, at 1 p.m., at the Clarksburg Church of Christ. Burial followed in the Sellers Hill Cemetery. Brother Bill Crossno officiating. Dilday Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements. Mrs. Peterson, the daughter of the late L.V. and Annie Petty Holladay, was born May 4, 1909, in Carroll County. She was a homemaker and a member of the Clarksburg Church of Christ. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Albert Peterson, who died November 19, 1981; a son, James Wiley Peterson, who died in 1950; a brother, "Pete" Holladay, who died June 6, 1966; two sisters, Annie Bridges, who died April 25, 1996, and Bevie Jones, who died May 4, 1988; and two grandchildren. Besides her daughter, she is survived by two other daughters, Alice Gant of Ashland City and Mary Pritchard of Clarksburg; a brother, Richard Holladay of Chattanooga; 10 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and six great-great grandchildren.

They had the following children:
i. James Wylie. Born in 1928. At the age of 22, James Wylie died in 1950. Buried in 1950 in Sellers Hill Cemetery, Clarksburg, Carroll County, Tennessee.
ii. Bobby Glenn. Born in 1930. Bobby Glenn died in 1930. Buried in 1930 in Hampton Cemetery, Carroll County, Tennessee.
iii. Wilma Sue. Born in 1932. Wilma Sue died in 1932. Buried in 1932 in Hampton Cemetery, Carroll County, Tennessee.
