1109. Charles Lawton SCOTT. Born on 18 Apr 1932 in Jackson, Madison County, Tennessee. At the age of 72, Charles Lawton died in Jackson, Madison County, Tennessee on 13 Jul 2004. Buried on 17 Jul 2004 in Ridgecrest Cemetery, Jackson, Madison County, Tennessee. Alias/AKA: "Tippie".

Obituary: Services for Charles Lawton Scott, 72, will be held at 3:00 p.m. Friday July 17, 2004 in the chapel of Arrington Funeral Directors. Dr. Paul Clayton and Rev. Nowell Bingham will be officiating. Burial will follow in Ridgecrest Cemetery. Mr. Scott died on Tuesday July 13, 2004 at the Jackson Madison County General Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer. Charles was born in Jackson, TN. on April 18, 1932. He was the son of the late L.W. 'Swig' and Ruth L. Pearson Scott. He graduated from Columbia Military Academy and attended Northwestern College and Memphis State University graduating with a business degree. While at MSU, he played linebacker and was a member of the Kappa Sigma Fraternity. Charles was a veteran of the United States Air Force serving as a Second Lieutenant stationed in Washington D.C and Nevada. During his tour of duty he assisted in the testing of above ground atomic bombs and U-2 weapons. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, The Masonic Lodge, Scottish Rite and Shriners, Rotary Club and VFW Post 1848. He is survived by four children, Kellee Scott Strawbridge and husband George, Karee Scott Black, Mark Lawton Scott and Charles Franklin Scott; the mother of their children Audrey Miller Scott; a sister, Jean Ann Miller and husband Dr. Jesse 'Kippy' Miller; grandchildren Charles Steelman Smoot, Taylor Elizabeth Strawbridge, Michael Charleston Black, McCall Catherine Scott, Kelsey Mary Scott and Caitlin Elizabeth Scott. Special family members who were dear to his heart also survive him. Pallbearers to serve will be R.E. 'Tobe' Bailey III, George E. Strawbridge, Justin Miller Bush, Clyde Michael Black, Michael Earl Bickerstaff and Bill Teske. The family will be receiving friends on Thursday July 15, 2004 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Arrington Funeral Directors.



Charles Lawton married Audrey MILLER.

They had the following children:

iv. Charles Franklin.
