555. Dola Estelle BRIDGES. Born on 10 Oct 1911 in Carroll County, Tennessee. At the age of 90, Dola Estelle died in Huntingdon, Carroll County, Tennessee on 21 Nov 2001. Buried in Nov 2001 in Hampton Cemetery, Carroll County, Tennessee.

Obituary: Dola Estelle Chandler, 90, of Huntingdon, died Wednesday, November 21, at Baptist Memorial Hospital. Services were held on Saturday, November 24, at Mud Creek Primitive Baptist Church, where she was a member. Brother Dennis Abernathy officiated. Burial followed in Hampton Cemetery. Pallbearers who served were Timmy Hampton, Shawn Hampton, Dustin Hampton, Kevin Hampton, Ronnie Hampton and Marshall Carter. Dilday Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements. Mrs. Chandler, the daughter of the late Osco and Sudie Hampton Bridges, was born October 10, 1911. She was a retired employee of Henry I. Siegel. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Chandler, who died April 9, 1978; and a brother, Raymond Bridges. She is survived by a daughter, Sudie White of Huntingdon; two sons, Burl Chandler and Adron Chandler, both of Huntingdon; eight grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren.



Dola Estelle married John CHANDLER. John died on 9 Apr 1978.

They had the following children:
i. Sudie.

ii. Burl. Resided in Huntingdon, Carroll County, Tennessee in Nov 2001.

iii. Adron. Resided in Huntingdon, Carroll County, Tennessee in Nov 2001.


556. Raymond Addison BRIDGES. Born on 18 Dec 1914. At the age of 77, Raymond Addison died on 7 Apr 1992. Buried in Apr 1992 in Hampton Cemetery, Carroll County, Tennessee.

On 20 Nov 1934 when Raymond Addison was 19, he first married Frances Manerva CARNAL (288) , daughter of Josephus CARNAL (1885-1959) & Mary Frances SCOTT (133) (1887-1973). Born on 27 Oct 1919. At the age of 53, Frances Manerva died on 9 Jul 1973. Buried in Jul 1973 in Sellers Hill Cemetery, Carroll County, Tennessee.

They had the following children:

On 23 Jun 1974 when Raymond Addison was 59, he second married Olivia SIMPSON, daughter of Stephen Robert SIMPSON (1884-1948) & Vicie Pearl CROSS (1888-1972). Born on 15 Oct 1915 in Carroll County, Tennessee. At the age of 86, Olivia died in Huntingdon, Carroll County, Tennessee on 12 Jul 2002. Buried in Jul 2002 in Hampton Cemetery, Carroll County, Tennessee.

Obituary: Olivia Simpson Bridges, 86, of Huntingdon, died Friday, July 12, at the Huntingdon Health and Rehabilitation Center. Services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, July 14, at Concord Missionary Baptist Church. Brother Lynn Stapleton and Brother Rufus Chandler officiated. Burial followed at Hampton Cemetery. Pallbearers who served were Allen Simpson, Darrell Hensley, Dennis Simpson, Mark Simpson, David Simpson, Jimmy Dale Simpson and Ricky Simpson. Dilday Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.  Mrs. Bridges, the daughter of the late Stephen Robert and Pearl Cross Simpson, was born October 15, 1915, in Carroll County. She was a retired employee for Henry I. Siegel and a member of the Concord Missionary Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Onnie Claude Simpson, who passed away in 1940, and her second husband, Raymond Bridges, who passed away April 7, 1992; a sister, Lura McDowell; and four brothers, Ebron Simpson, Earnest Simpson, Aaron Simpson and Paul Simpson. She is survived by two sons, Robert C. Simpson of Santa Ana, California, and Audie P. Simpson of Huntingdon; two stepdaughters, Shirley Wyatt and Martha Luther, both of Huntingdon; a sister, Ruth Davis of Huntingdon; eight grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
