509. Benjamin Thomas WHITE. Born on 3 Oct 1917. At the age of 80, Benjamin Thomas died on 18 Aug 1998. Alias/AKA: "Tom".

Benjamin Thomas married Myrtle BYARS, daughter of John Edwards BYARS & Kate VANCLEAVE. Born on 22 Mar 1922 in Carroll County, Tennessee. At the age of 79, Myrtle died in Murray, Calloway County, Kentucky on 25 Dec 2001. Buried in Dec 2001 in Long Rock Cemetery, Carroll County, Tennessee.

Obituary: Myrtle Byars White, 79, of Huntingdon, died Tuesday, December 25, at Murray Calloway County Long Term Care in Murray, Kentucky. Services were conducted on Friday, December 28, in the Dilday Funeral Home Chapel. Burial followed in Long Rock Cemetery. Mrs. White, the daughter of the late John Edwards Byars and Kate VanCleave Byars, was born March 22, 1922, in Carroll County. She was a member of Long Rock Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Benjamin T. (Tom) White on August 18, 1998; five brothers; and a sister. She is survived by a daughter, Linda (Noel) Thomas of Murray, Kentucky; three sons, Gene (Kathy) White of Hebron, Indiana, John (Judy) White of Clarksburg, and Keith (Kim) White of Huntingdon; a sister, Frances Pigue of Joelton; a brother, W.D. Byars of Huntingdon; and six grandchildren, Dawn Satterfield and Michelle Rosenburger, both of Indiana, Emily Thomas and Jena Thomas, both of Murray, Kentucky, and Konstance White and Kennedy White, both of Huntingdon.





They had the following children:

Johnny married Judy HALTERS, daughter of Lucian HALTERS (1910-) & Stacey Lorene SCATES (1915-).

510. Leonard Ray WHITE. Born in 1920. At the age of 82, Leonard Ray died in Huntingdon, Carroll County, Tennessee on 8 Nov 2002. Buried on 10 Nov 2002 in Long Rock Cemetery, Carroll County, Tennessee. Resided in Huntingdon, Carroll County, Tennessee in Jun 2002.

Obituary: Services for Mr. Ray White, 82, will be at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, November 10, 2002, at Dilday Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Long Rock Cemetery. Mr. White, a retired Property Assessor for Carroll County and a farmer, died Friday, November 8, 2002, at Baptist Memorial Hospital. Survivors include his wife, Dorothy White of Huntingdon, TN; a daughter, Sandra Wilson and son-in-law Ricky of Huntingdon, TN; two sons, Jimmy White of McKenzie, TN and Jerry White and daughter-in-law Brenda of Huntingdon, TN; three brothers, Bill White of Dresden, TN, Jamie White of Huntingdon, TN and Weldon White of Lowell, IN; seven grandchildren; and five great grandchildren.


Obituary: Mr. Ray White, 82, died on Friday, November 8 at the Baptist Memorial Hospital. Funeral services were conducted on Sunday, November 10 at 2:00 p.m. in the Dilday Funeral Home Chapel with Brothers Bill Goodpasture and Bob White officiating. Interment followed in the Long Rock Cemetery. Mr. White, the son of the late Will and Minnie Merritt White, was born May 10, 1920 in Carroll County. He was a retired farmer and served as property assessor of Carroll County for 16 years. He was a World War II U.S. Navy veteran, a member of the VFW, American Legion and was a member of the Carroll County Democrat Executive Committee. He was a past member of the Huntingdon Rotary Club, a member of the State of Tennessee Equalization Board and the State of Tennessee Property Assessors Association. He was a member of the Twin Oaks Church of Christ. A sister, Madaline Anderson and two brothers, Waldon White and Tom White, preceded him in death. Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Dorothy Rumley White, a daughter and son-in-law, Sandra and Rickey Wilson of Huntingdon; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Jimmy White of McKenzie and Jerry and Brenda White of Huntingdon; three brothers, Bill White of Dresden, Jamie White of Huntingdon and Weldon White of Lowell, Indiana. He also leaves a very special niece, Diana Skelton; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Pallbearers who served were his grandchildren, Jeff and Melissa White, Jennifer and Bobby Sellers, Timmy White, Josh and Melanie White, Clint Wilson, Katy Wilson and Hayden White. Honorary pallbearers who served were Ernest Douglas, Poker Pearson, Dr. Jerry Atkins, Peggy Brandon, Joyce Sullivan, Bessie Mae Phillips, Sylvia Cary and R.C. Wilson.

511. Waldon Clark WHITE. Born on 14 Jun 1925 in Carroll County, Tennessee. At the age of 77, Waldon Clark died in Carroll County, Tennessee on 16 Jun 2002. Buried on 19 Jun 2002 in Long Rock Cemetery, Carroll County, Tennessee.

Obituary: Services for Mr. Waldon Clark White, 77, will be held Wednesday, June 19, 2002 at 10:00 a.m. at Huntingdon Church of Christ with burial to follow in Long Rock Cemetery. Mr. White, an employee of the U.S. Postal Service, died Sunday at his residence. He is survived by his wife, Imogene White; daughters, Janie Ferrell of Dyersburg and Carol Anne Willoughby of Huntingdon; son, David C. White of Huntingdon; step-daughters, Carol Whitfield of Pasgoula, MS and Peggy Pearson of West Palm Beach, FL; brothers, Jamie White and Ray White both of Huntingdon, Bill White of Dresden and Weldon White of Lowell, IN.



Obituary: Former Huntingdon Mayor Waldon Clark White, 77, died Sunday, June 16, at his home. Services will be held at 10 a.m. today (Wednesday, June 19) at the Huntingdon Church of Christ. Brother Bill Goodpasture and Brother Robert White will officiate. Burial will follow at Long Rock Cemetery. Dilday Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Mr. White, the son of the late William Franklin and Minnie Merritt White, was born June 14, 1925, in Carroll County. He was a retired postal employee, a member of the Huntingdon Church of Christ, a Navy World War II Veteran, a member of the American Legion and the VFW. He served on the Town of Huntingdon Council from 1978-1982, and was the Town of Huntingdon Mayor from 1982-1984 and from 1988-1992. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Laverne White, who passed away in 1979; a brother Tom White, who passed away in 1998; and a sister, Madeline Anderson, who passed away in 1992. He is survived by his wife, Imogene White; a son, David C. White of Huntingdon; two daughters, Janie Ferrell of Dyersburg and Carol Anne Willoughby of Huntingdon; two stepdaughters, Carol Whitfield of Pascagoula, Mississippi, and Peggy Pearson of West Palm Beach, Florida; four brothers, Jamie White and Ray White, both of Huntingdon, Bill White of Dresden, and Weldon White of Lowell, Indiana; 12 grandchildren, Donnie Sledge, Brian Willoughby, Amy Jerding, Heather Lewis, Julie Ferrell, Clark White, Will White, Thomas Pearson, Rebecca Pearson, Robin Morris, Lori Morris and Christopher Morris; and six great-grandchildren.

Waldon Clark first married Lavern ?. Lavern died in 1979.

They had the following children:
