Carl Walden PENDERGRASS. Born on 14 May 1929 in Carroll County, Tennessee. At the age of 72, Carl Walden died in Paris, Henry County, Tennessee on 21 Jun 2001. Buried on 24 Jun 2001 in New Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery, Carroll County, Tennessee. Resided in Trezevant, Carroll County, Tennessee.

Carl Walden Pendergrass was a Korean War Veteran. Served in the U.S. Air Force.

Obituary: Carl Walden Pendergrass, 72, of Trezevant, died Thursday night, June 21, at Henry Co. Medical Center in Paris. Services were held at 3 p.m. Sunday, June 24, at Brummit Funeral Home in Trezevant. Bro. Phillip Halter officiated. Burial followed in New Liberty Cemetery in Cedar Grove. Mr. Pendergrass, the son of the late John William Pendergrass and Lella Gurley, was born May 14, 1929, Carroll County. He was a retired salesman, a member of the Baptist Church, and a U.S. Air Force Veteran of the Korean War. He is survived by two daughters, Doris Keen of Medina and Delores Boyd of Trezevant; three sons, Danny Pendergrass of Vancouver, Washington, Dennis Pendergrass of Dover, Delaware, and Dean Pendergrass of Milan; a sister, Virginia Roberts of Atwood; 11 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Carl Walden married Billie Jo HOLLOWELL, daughter of Joe M. HOLLOWELL (1904-1996) & Jessie Merlie AZBILL (1910-1988). Born in 1933. At the age of 37, Billie Jo died in Huntingdon, Carroll County, Tennessee on 4 Jun 1970. Buried on 6 Jun 1970 in Hare Cemetery, Henderson County, Tennessee.

Obituary: Services for Mrs. Billie Jo Pendergrass, 39, wife of Grover Pendergrass were at 1 p.m. Saturday, June 6, at Huntingdon Church of Christ with burial in Hare Cemetery in Henderson County. Dilday Funeral Home had charge. She died Thursday night at her home. She leaves three sons, Danny C. Pendergrass, Dennis R. Pendergrass and William D. Pendergrass, all of Huntingdon; three daughters, Mrs. Doris Eason, Delores Jean Pendergrass and Linda R. Pendergrass, all of Huntingdon; her mother, Mrs. Jessie Hollowell of Huntingdon; two sisters, Mrs. Virginia Patterson of Huntingdon and Mrs. Rachel Patterson of Springfield, Ill., two brothers, Earl Hollowell of Calvert City, Ky. and J.W. Hollowell of Huntingdon.

They had the following children:

iii. William Dean. Resided in Milan, Gibson County, Tennessee (1999). in 1999.

iv. Dennis R.. Resided in Delaware in 1999.

v. Delores Jean. Resided in Trezevant, Carroll County, Tennessee in 1999.

Delores Jean married Rodger BOYD.


428. Virginia PENDERGRASS. Born on 3 Jan 1934 in Carroll County, Tennessee.

On 2 Dec 1949 when Virginia was 15, she first married Nolan Massey TOWNSEND, son of Meddie Donelson TOWNSEND (1886-1967) & Mary Florence RICH (1887-1974). Born on 12 Mar 1929. At the age of 45, Nolan Massey died on 27 May 1974. Buried in May 1974 in Palmer Shelter Cemetery, Huntingdon, Carroll County, Tennessee.

Cause of Death: Train Accident

They had the following children:
