Grover Lindy PENDERGRASS. Born on 18 Oct 1929 in Carroll County, Tennessee. At the age of 69, Grover Lindy died in Huntingdon, Tennessee on 11 Dec 1998. Buried in 1998 in Hare Cemetery, Henderson County, Tennessee. Resided in Huntingdon, Carroll County, Tennessee in Mar 1985. Resided in District 13, Carroll County, Tennessee in 1930.

Military: Grover Lindy Pendergrass was a Korean War Veteran.

Obituary: Grover L. Pendergrass, 69, of Huntingdon, died December 11, at his home. Services were held Sunday, December 13, at Dilday Funeral Home. Burial followed in the Hare Cemetery in Henderson County. Brother Bill Goodpasture officiated. Pallbearers who served were Jeff Stuckey, Barry Brandon, Mike Ledsinger, Landon Ledsinger, Ron Hilliard, Don Orr, Byron Ledsinger and Jimmy Taylor. Mr. Pendergrass, the son of the late Harrison and Ruth Dill Pendergrass was born October 18, 1929, in Carroll County. He was a Korean Army Veteran and a retired installer for Brandon Heating and Air Conditioning. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Billie Joe Pendergrass; two brothers, Odie Pendergrass and Gordon Pendergrass; and a sister, Kathleen Pendergrass. He is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Kevin Jackson of Wildersville; two stepdaughters, Doris Keen of Jackson and Delores Boyd of Trezevant; three stepsons, Danny Pendergrass of Warsaw, Washington, Dennis Pendergrass of Delaware, and Dean Pendergrass of Milan; four sisters, Marie Hilliard of Macon, Georgia, Betty Pullin of Cleveland, Ohio, Mildred Ledsinger and Sylvia Brandon, both of Huntingdon; three granddaughters, Joan Stucky, Amanda Jackson and Kimber Jackson, all of Wildersville.

Grover Lindy married Billie Jo HOLLOWELL, daughter of Joe M. HOLLOWELL (1904-1996) & Jessie Merlie AZBILL (1910-1988). Born in 1933. At the age of 37, Billie Jo died in Huntingdon, Carroll County, Tennessee on 4 Jun 1970. Buried on 6 Jun 1970 in Hare Cemetery, Henderson County, Tennessee.

Obituary: Services for Mrs. Billie Jo Pendergrass, 39, wife of Grover Pendergrass were at 1 p.m. Saturday, June 6, at Huntingdon Church of Christ with burial in Hare Cemetery in Henderson County. Dilday Funeral Home had charge. She died Thursday night at her home. She leaves three sons, Danny C. Pendergrass, Dennis R. Pendergrass and William D. Pendergrass, all of Huntingdon; three daughters, Mrs. Doris Eason, Delores Jean Pendergrass and Linda R. Pendergrass, all of Huntingdon; her mother, Mrs. Jessie Hollowell of Huntingdon; two sisters, Mrs. Virginia Patterson of Huntingdon and Mrs. Rachel Patterson of Springfield, Ill., two brothers, Earl Hollowell of Calvert City, Ky. and J.W. Hollowell of Huntingdon.

Lucy Mildred PENDERGRASS. Born on 7 Apr 1932 in Clarksburg, 13th District, Carroll County, Tennessee. At the age of 71, Lucy Mildred died in Huntingdon, Carroll County, Tennessee on 14 Jan 2004. Buried on 16 Jan 2004 in Carroll County Memorial Gardens, McKenzie, Carroll County, Tennessee. Resided in Huntingdon, Carroll County, Tennessee in Mar 1985. Resided in Huntingdon, Carroll County, Tennessee in Jul 2002. Religion: Church of Christ, Huntingdon, Carroll County, Tennessee.

Obituary: Mildred Ledsinger, 71, retired cook, died Wednesday at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Huntingdon. Services will be at 11 a.m. today at Huntingdon Church of Christ, where she was a member, with burial in Carroll Memorial Gardens in McKenzie. Chase Funeral Home has charge. Mrs. Ledsinger, the widow of Larry Ledsinger, leaves two daughters, Becky Orr and Ginger Taylor, both of Huntingdon; three sons, Byron Ledsinger and Mike Ledsinger, both of Huntingdon, and Landon Ledsinger of Hollow Rock; three sisters, Sylvia Brandon of Clarksburg, Marie Hilliard of Macon, Ga., and Betty Pullin of Maple Heights, Ohio, seven grandchildren and a great-grandchild.

Obituary: HUNTINGDON: Mrs. Mildred Ledsinger, 71, passed away on Wednesday, January 14 at her home. Funeral services were conducted on Friday, January 16 at 11:00 a.m. at the Huntingdon Church of Christ with Bro. Bill Goodpasture officiating. Interment followed in the Carroll Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers who served were John Taylor, Jason Orr, Barry Brandon, Rodney Pendergrass, Kenny Prestage and Kevin Prestage. Mrs. Ledsinger was born April 7, 1932 in Clarksburg to the late Harrison Alvin and Ruth Dill Pendergrass. She was a retired cook for the Huntingdon Primary School and a member of the Huntingdon Church of Christ. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Larry Ledsinger, who died in May of 1995 and one infant daughter, Amy Janice Ledsinger. Survivors include two daughters, Becky (Donald) Orr and Ginger (Jimmy) Taylor; three sons, Byron (Susan) Ledsinger, Landon (Dana) Ledsinger and Mike Ledsinger, all of Huntingdon; three sisters, Sylvia Brandon of Clarksburg, Marie Hilliard of Macon, Georgia, and Betty Pullin of Maple Heights, Ohio; seven grandchildren; one great-grandson and a special niece, Linda Jackson, all of Huntingdon.


On 19 Aug 1951 when Lucy Mildred was 19, she married Larry LEDSINGER, son of John Alfred LEDSINGER (1898-1954) & Verna Virginia McDANIEL (1907-1987), in Corinth, Mississippi. Born on 5 Apr 1930 in Bargerton, Henderson County, Tennessee. At the age of 65, Larry died in Huntingdon, Carroll County, Tennessee on 9 May 1995. Buried in May 1995 in Carroll County Memorial Gardens, McKenzie, Carroll County, Tennessee. Resided in District 1, Henderson County, Tennessee in 1930. Religion: Church of Christ, Huntingdon, Carroll County, Tennessee.

422. Gordon Alton PENDERGRASS. Born on 20 Sep 1934 in Carroll County, Tennessee. At the age of 61, Gordon Alton died in Huntingdon, Carroll County, Tennessee on 21 Jan 1996. Resided in Lexington, Henderson County, Tennessee in Jan 1980. Resided in Dallas, Dallas County, Texas in Mar 1985.

Obituary: Mr. Gordon Alton Pendergrass, 61, of Huntingdon, died Sunday, January 21, 1996, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Huntingdon. Funeral Services were conducted on Tuesday, January 23, 1996, at Huntingdon First Pentecostal Church. Interment followed in the Sellers Hill Cemetery. Reverends Earl Thomas and Larry DePriest officiated. Mr. Pendergrass, the son of the late Harrison and Ruth Dill Pendergrass, was born September 20, 1934, in Carroll County. He served in the U.S. Army, a member of the Huntingdon First Pentecostal Church and was a retired electrician from Townsend Electric. He is survived by his wife, Velma Rickman Pendergrass, two daughters, Lynn Reece of North Carolina, and Kay Pendergrass of Texas, one son, Rodney Pendergrass of Cedar Grove, three step-sons, Thomas Flatt, Jr., of Jackson, James Edward Flatt, of Selmer, and Danny Joe Flatt of Bethel Springs. He also leaves four sisters, Mildred Ledsinger, and Sylvia Brandon, both of Huntingdon, Betty Pullin of Cleveland, Ohio, and Marie Hilliard, of Macon, Georgia, and a brother, Grover Pendergrass, of Huntingdon, six grandchildren, five step-grandchildren, and three step great-grandchildren.

Gordon Alton first married Corene GATELY.
