415. Duncan Augdon PENDERGRASS. Born on 21 Feb 1918 in Cedar Grove, Carroll County, Tennessee. At the age of 77, Duncan Augdon died in Umpire, Arkansas on 14 Feb 1996. Buried in 1996 in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Umpire, Arkansas. Occupation: Cabinet maker and farmer. Religion: Seventh Day Adventist.

Obituary: Mr. Duncan Augdon Pendergrass, 77, of Umpire, Ark., died Wednesday, February 14, 1996 at his home. He was born February 21, 1918, at Cedar Grove. He was a retired cabinet maker and farmer, and a member of the Umpire Seventh Day Adventist Church. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Jane Allen in 1976. He is survived by his wife, Mary Nell Kelly Pendergrass of Umpire, Ark.; one son, Gordon Pendergrass of Umpire, four grandchildren, Tammie Beierle, Travis Pendergrass, Pam Parker, and Kim Parker, one sister, Arlene Spain of Jackson, and Thelma Baumgardner of Paducah, Ky., five great- grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services for Mr. Pendergrass were at 2 p.m. Friday, February 16, 1996, in the Umpire Seventh Day Adventist with Elders Delmer Cook and Glen Farnsworth officiating. Burial followed in the Cedar Hill Cemetery, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home, De Queen.


Duncan Augdon married Mary Nell KELLY, daughter of Noel Valentine KELLY & Pearl LEWIS (1887-). Born on 30 Nov 1916 in Cedar Grove, Carroll County, Tennessee. At the age of 85, Mary Nell died in Umpire, Arkansas on 5 Apr 2002. Buried on 8 Apr 2002 in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Umpire, Arkansas.

Obituary: Mary Nell Pendergrass, 85, of Umpire, Arkansas, died Friday, April 5, at her home. She was born on Thursday, November 30, 1916, in Cedar Grove, to the late Noel Valentine and Pearl Lewis Kelly. She was a homemaker and a member of the Umpire Seventh Day Adventist Church. Mrs. Pendergrass was preceded in death by her husband, Duncan Pendergrass, on February 14, 1996; and a daughter, Jane Pendergrass Allen. She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Gordon and Jessie Pendergrass of Umpire, Arkansas; two brothers, Billy Kelly and Dwayne Kelly, both of Cedar Grove; three sisters, Nolene Barger and Berlyn Barger, both of Cedar Grove, and Madylene Ledsinger of Huntingdon; four grandchildren, Tammie Beierle, Travis Pendergrass, Pamela Parker and Kimberly Parker; and five great-grandchildren. Services for Mrs. Pendergrass were held at 2 p.m. Monday, April 8, at the Umpire Seventh Day Adventist Church with Pastor Don Fortner and Pastor Glen Farnsworth officiating. Burial followed in the Cedar Hill Cemetery. Wilkerson Funeral Home in Dierks, Arkansas, was in charge of the arrangements.

416. Thelma Lucille PENDERGRASS. Born on 19 Oct 1920 in Carroll County, Tennessee. At the age of 83, Thelma Lucille died in Paducah, Kentucky on 21 Jun 2004. Buried on 24 Jun 2004 in New Liberty Church Cemetery, District 7, Carroll County, Tennessee.

Obituary: Thelma Baumgardner, 83, of Paducah, Kentucky, formerly of Carroll County, died Monday, June 21, at Lourdes Hospital. Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. today (Thursday), June 24, in the Chapel of Roth Funeral Home. Burial will follow in New Liberty Cemetery, Carroll County. Brothers Larry Harris, Jamie Boone, Mitchell Covington and Joe Bradley will officiate. Mrs. Baumgardner was preceded in death by her parents Frank A. and Nova Montgomery Pendergrass; her husband, James Baumgardner; one son, Donald Baumgardner; and one brother, Duncan Pendergrass. She is survived by three sons, Lyndol Baumgardner of Paducah, Jimmy Baumgardner of Lone Oak, Kentucky, and Keith Baumgarnder of Paducah; one sister, Arlene Spain of Jackson; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

On 18 Oct 1941 when Thelma Lucille was 20, she married James M. BAUMGARDNER, son of Berry BAUMGARDNER (1879-) & Elsie Geneva BURNS (1882-). Born in 1921 in Carroll County, Tennessee. At the age of 52, James M. died on 15 Oct 1973. Buried in Oct 1973 in New Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery, Carroll County, Tennessee. Resided in 7th District, Carroll County, Tennessee in 1930.

iii. Donald Gene. Born on 29 Nov 1946. At the age of 13, Donald Gene died on 15 Jun 1960. Buried in Jun 1960 in New Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery, Carroll County, Tennessee.

417. Josie Arlene PENDERGRASS. Born on 25 Apr 1926 in Carroll County, Tennessee. Resided in Jackson, Tennessee. in 1999. Resided in Jackson, Madison County, Tennessee in Jun 2004.

On 25 Jul 1945 when Josie Arlene was 19, she married Jessie Mitchell SPAIN, son of Oliver SPAIN & Mary HOLDER. Born on 9 Sep 1923 in Carroll County, Tennessee. Religion: North Jackson, Madison County, Tennessee, Church of Christ. Mitchell serves as an elder (1999).

They had the following children:
