376. Gladys M. BELEW. Born on 8 Jan 1907 in Carroll County, Tennessee. At the age of 97, Gladys M. died in Nashville, Davidson County, Tennessee on 21 Sep 2004. Buried on 23 Sep 2004 in Lexington Cemetery, Lexington, Henderson County, Tennessee. Resided in District 12, Carroll County, Tennessee in 1910.

Obituary: Funeral services for Mrs. Gladys Belew Orr, age 97, are scheduled for 11:00am, Thursday, September 23, 2004 in the chapel of Pafford Funeral Home in Lexington, TN. Burial will follow in Lexington Cemetery. Mrs. Orr died early Tuesday in Nashville. She was born January 8, 1907 in Carroll County to the late Willie R. and Elizabeth Morris Belew. She was a retired florist. She was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. James Newton Orr and her daughter, Julia Elizabeth Evans. Survivors include her son-in-law, Mr. Lewis Evans, Sr, two grandchildren, Lewis (Gretchen) Evans, Jr. and Beth (Todd) Evans Vessel, and two great grandchildren, Preston Gibson and Emma Evans. The family will receive friends this evening from 6-8pm and Thursday 10am until time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society or Granny White Church of Christ in Nashville.

On 3 Nov 1929 when Gladys M. was 22, she married James Newton ORR, son of Newton Allen ORR (1854-1920) & Julia Angeline ENOCHS (1866-1935), in Carroll County, Tennessee. Born on 6 Jul 1900 in Carroll County, Tennessee. At the age of 75, James Newton died on 26 Apr 1976. Buried in Apr 1976 in Lexington Cemetery, Lexington, Henderson County, Tennessee.

They had one child:
