278. Lester Elmer SCOTT. Born on 21 Apr 1908 in Carroll County, Tennessee. At the age of 82, Lester Elmer died on 8 Apr 1991. Buried in Apr 1991 in Sellers Hill Cemetery, Clarksburg, 13th District, Carroll County, Tennessee. Resided in District 13, Carroll County, Tennessee in 1930.

On 16 Apr 1927 when Lester Elmer was 18, he married Lillian BRITT, in Carroll County, Tennessee. Born on 19 Feb 1908 in Texas. At the age of 88, Lillian died on 23 Apr 1996. Buried in Apr 1996 in Sellers Hill Cemetery, Clarksburg, 13th District, Carroll County, Tennessee. Resided in District 13, Carroll County, Tennessee in 1930.

279. Ila Adel SCOTT. Born on 13 Feb 1910 in Carroll County, Tennessee. At the age of 94, Ila Adel died in Huntingdon, Carroll County, Tennessee on 20 Jul 2004. Buried on 23 Jul 2004 in Christian Chapel Church of Christ Cemetery, Carroll County, Tennessee.

Obituary: HUNTINGDON: Services for Ila Adel Dill, 94, were conducted on Friday, July 23 at 2:00 p.m. at the Christian Chapel Church of Christ with Brother Doug Sellers and Brother David Young officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery. Mrs. Dill died Tuesday, July 20 at the Baptist Memorial Hospital in Huntingdon. She was born February 13, 1910 in Carroll County to the late William Henry Clay and Fannie Zooann Rigsby Scott. She was a retired employee of Publix Shirt Corp. and a member of the Christian Chapel Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dee Dill; a daughter, Shirley Reeves and an infant son. Survivors include two daughters, Frances McCaslin and Evone Eskew, both of Huntingdon; two sons, Glenn Dill of Zelwood, Florida and James Dill of New Johnsonville; one brother, Lois Scott of Clarksburg; 18 grandchildren, 42 great-grandchildren and 16 great-great-grandchildren. Dilday Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

On 8 Mar 1925 when Ila Adel was 15, she married Ethridge Dumont DILL (245) , son of Thomas Ellwood DILL (1867-1934) & Leonia Haseltine SCOTT (117) (1870-1964). Born on 19 Aug 1901 in Carroll County, Tennessee. At the age of 84, Ethridge Dumont died in Carroll County, Tennessee on 11 Aug 1986. Buried in 1986 in Christian Chapel Cemetery, Carroll County, Tennessee. Alias/AKA: "Dee".

280. Vadie SCOTT. Born on 8 Apr 1913 in Carroll County, Tennessee. At the age of 85, Vadie died on 3 Jan 1999. Buried in Jan 1999 in Sellers Hill Cemetery, Clarksburg, 13th District, Carroll County, Tennessee. Resided in District 13, Carroll County, Tennessee in 1930.

On 13 May 1934 when Vadie was 21, she married Walter Homer TAYLOR, son of Samuel R. TAYLOR (1884-) & Della PRATER (1889-1968). Born on 22 Nov 1916 in Tennessee. At the age of 64, Walter Homer died on 11 Jun 1981. Buried in Jun 1981 in Sellers Hill Cemetery, Clarksburg, 13th District, Carroll County, Tennessee. Resided in District 1, Henderson County, Tennessee in 1920. Resided in District 1, Henderson County, Tennessee in 1930.

281. Ruth SCOTT. Born on 14 May 1918 in Carroll County, Tennessee. At the age of 81, Ruth died in 2000. Resided in District 13, Carroll County, Tennessee in 1930.

Obituary: Services for Ruth Velma Brandon, 82, will be at 2 p.m. today at Christian Chapel Church of Christ. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Mrs. Brandon, a retired factory worker for Henry J. Seigel, died Tuesday at Baptist Memorial Hospital after a tractor accident at her home. She is survived by her husband, Arvill Brandon of Cedar Grove; two daughters, Velma Cooper of Dyer and Kay Myers of Jackson; a sister, Iler Dill of Huntingdon; and a brother, Lois Scott of Clarksburg


On 3 Nov 1933 when Ruth was 15, she married Arvil Kindred BRANDON, son of ? BRANDON & Julia FRENCH (1901-). Born in 1917. At the age of 85, Arvil Kindred died in Jackson, Madison County, Tennessee on 12 May 2002. Buried on 14 May 2002 in Christian Chapel Cemetery, Leach, Carroll County, Tennessee. Resided in District 7, Carroll County, Tennessee in 1920.

Obituary: Services for Arvil Kindred Brandon, 85, will be May 14, 2002 at 2:00 PM at Christian Chapel Church of Christ with burial in Christian Chapel Cemetery. Mr. Brandon died May 12, 2002 at Jackson Madison County General Hospital. Surviving are daughters, Mrs. Kay Myers of Holladay, TN and Velma Cooper of Dyer, TN.

282. Lois SCOTT. Born on 18 Feb 1922 in Carroll County, Tennessee. Resided in District 13, Carroll County, Tennessee in 1930. Resided in Clarksburg, 13th District, Carroll County, Tennessee in 2004.

On 25 Dec 1941 when Lois was 19, he first married Irene CARNAL, daughter of Ether Lee CARNAL (1884-1948) & Nora SIMPSON (1888-1972). Born in 1917 in Carroll County, Tennessee. Resided in District 13, Carroll County, Tennessee in 1930.

They had the following children:
i. Ronald.

Ronald married Meredith Joan McDANIEL, daughter of Carl McDANIEL (1903-1960) & Vennie Mae TODD (1908-1996). Born on 14 Oct 1946.

ii. Loretta.

Loretta married Eddie PRUITT.


Lois second married Ruth Gaynelle CAWTHON, daughter of Benjamin CAWTHON (1881-1934) & Ida HOLLADAY (1893-1963). Born on 29 Dec 1918 in Carroll County, Tennessee. At the age of 84, Ruth Gaynelle died in Huntingdon, Carroll County, Tennessee on 31 Dec 2002. Buried on 2 Jan 2003 in Jamison Cemetery, Carroll County, Tennessee.

Obituary: Mrs. Ruth Gaynelle Scott, 84, died on Tuesday, December 31 at the Huntingdon Health and Rehabilitation Center. Funeral services were conducted on Thursday, January 2 at 11:00 a.m. at the Clarksburg Church of Christ with Bro. Billy Ringold officiating. Interment followed at Jamison Cemetery. Mrs. Scott was born on December 29, 1918 in Carroll County to the late Ben and Ida Holiday Cawthon. She was a retired employee of Publix Shirt and a member of the Clarksburg Church of Christ. Three brothers, Jake Cawthon, Alton Cawthon and Pete Cawthon and two sisters, Barbara White and Juanita Smith preceded her in death. Survivors include her husband, Lois Scott; one daughter, Ellen Anders of Lavergne; two sisters, Alma Joe Smith of Jackson and Edith Nolan of Bruceton and one grandson. Dilday Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements
