75. Newton C. HARDY. Born in Apr 1839 in Tennessee. At the age of 86, Newton C. died about 1926. Resided in 13th District, Carroll County, Tennessee in 1850. Resided in 7th District, Carroll County, Tennessee in 1920.

On 12 Sep 1860 when Newton C. was 21, he first married Martha Ellen GULLEDGE, daughter of Jeptha GULLEDGE (1801-1842) & Catherine SELLERS (1806-1855), in Carroll County, Tennessee. Born on 26 Oct 1840 in Tennessee.

They had the following children:

76. Mary F. HARDY. Born in 1843 in Tennessee. Resided in 13th District, Carroll County, Tennessee in 1850.

On 29 Dec 1858 when Mary F. was 15, she married William Carroll PINCKLEY (43) , son of Michael PINCKLEY (11) (1816-1870) & Ann TOSH (1814-), in Carroll County, Tennessee. Born on 21 Aug 1838 in Tennessee. At the age of 59, William Carroll died in Carroll County, Tennessee on 26 May 1898.

They had the following children:
i. M. Mattie Brown. Born on 2 Aug 1859. At the age of 84, M. Mattie Brown died in St. Louis, Missouri in 1944. Buried in 1944 in Shady Grove Cemetery, Clarendon, Arkansas.

M. Mattie Brown married Carlos CLARK.

iii. William Henry Harrison. Born on 28 Jan 1864. At the age of 4, William Henry Harrison died on 14 Aug 1868.

v. Vernanca Victoria F.. Born on 28 Jan 1869. At the age of 86, Vernanca Victoria F. died in Sacramento, California on 6 Mar 1955. Buried in Mar 1955 in East Lawn Cemetery, Sacramento, California.

Vernanca Victoria F. married Newton Lofton FALLS.

vi. Revona Jane. Born on 27 Apr 1871. Revona Jane died in Piggott, Arkansas.

Revona Jane first married ? SPENCE.

Revona Jane second married Ed HICKS.

vii. James Milton. Born on 20 Mar 1873. At the age of 9, James Milton died on 1 Nov 1882.

viii. John Elihu. Born on 28 Nov 1874. John Elihu died in Clarendon, Arkansas. Buried in Shady Grove Cemetery, Clarendon, Arkansas.

John Elihu married Mayme BROWN.

ix. Hattie. Born on 12 Apr 1877 in Hollow Rock, Carroll County, Tennessee. At the age of 73, Hattie died in East St. Louis, Missouri on 18 Jun 1950. Buried in Jun 1950 in St. John's Cemetery, Anna, Illinois.

In 1902 when Hattie was 24, she married Charles Henry BARNHART.

x. Tolbert Christopher. Born on 20 Nov 1877 in Carroll County, Tennessee. At the age of 85, Tolbert Christopher died in Portageville, Missouri on 22 Nov 1962. Buried in Portageville, Missouri.

In 1902 when Tolbert Christopher was 24, he married Rachel FAHERTY.

xi. Neville. Born on 18 Jun 1887. At the age of 56, Neville died in Jonesboro, Arkansas in 1944.


77. Corilla Jane HARDY. Born on 28 Jan 1851 in Carroll County, Tennessee. At the age of 49, Corilla Jane died in Fulton County, Kentucky on 22 Mar 1900.

On 23 Nov 1870 when Corilla Jane was 19, she married Newton Henry BELEW, son of Thomas BELEW (1823-1875) & Elizabeth Caroline PHILLIPS (1825-1876), in Carroll County, Tennessee. Born on 8 Jul 1849 in Carroll County, Tennessee. At the age of 67, Newton Henry died in Fulton, Kentucky on 30 Jan 1917. Resided in 13th District, Carroll County, Tennessee in 1850. Resided in 13th District, Carroll County, Tennessee in 1870.

They had the following children:
i. Emma Adeline. Born on 2 Apr 1872. At the age of 17, Emma Adeline died in Fulton County, Kentucky on 24 Mar 1890.

Died from brain fever.

ii. Minnie Mae. Born in 1874.

Minnie Mae married Will GASKINS.

iii. Renzo Melton. Born in 1876.

Renzo Melton married Mattie KEARBY.

iv. Thomas Newton. Born in 1878.

Thomas Newton married Kelpa DODSON.

v. Mattie Bell. Born in 1879. At the age of 21, Mattie Bell died in Hickman County, Kentucky on 7 Apr 1900.

Died from smallpox.

vi. Arthur Clarence. Born in 1881.

Arthur Clarence married Daisy Mae MILLER.

vii. Maude Elizabeth. Born in 1883.

Maude Elizabeth married Leighman ELLIOT.

ix. Ina. Born on 30 Apr 1889.

171 x. Nina (1889-1971)
xi. Ermine Guy. Born on 9 Mar 1893 in Hickman County, Kentucky. At the age of 33, Ermine Guy died in Memphis, Shelby County, Tennessee on 19 Mar 1926.

Guy was a War World War I veteran. He died in the Memphis Veterans Hospital with the fourth known case of Hodgkins Disease in the United States.

Ermine Guy married Louise LAWRENCE.


78. Verona Ann HARDY. Born on 20 Jan 1853 in Clarksburg, 13th District, Carroll County, Tennessee. At the age of 78, Verona Ann died in Carroll County, Tennessee on 16 Sep 1931. Buried in Sep 1931 in New Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery, Carroll County, Tennessee. Religion: Church of Christ.

On 23 Dec 1869 when Verona Ann was 16, she married James Richard BELEW, son of Thomas BELEW (1823-1875) & Elizabeth Caroline PHILLIPS (1825-1876), in Carroll County, Tennessee. Born on 6 Dec 1846 in Clarksburg, 13th District, Carroll County, Tennessee. At the age of 70, James Richard died in Carroll County, Tennessee on 22 Apr 1917. Buried in Apr 1917 in New Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery, Carroll County, Tennessee. Resided in 13th District, Carroll County, Tennessee in 1850. Resided in 13th District, Carroll County, Tennessee in 1880. Religion: Church of Christ.

v. Lela. Born in May 1879 in Tennessee. At the age of 37, Lela died in 1917. Buried in 1917 in New Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery, Carroll County, Tennessee.
