Family of John Royal WILES (2) & Mary Cordelia KENNEDY

4. Alex A. WILES. Born on 16 Aug 1875. At the age of 61, Alex A. died in Clarksburg, Carroll County, Tennessee on 7 Jul 1937. Buried in Jul 1937 in Palestine Cemetery, Carroll County, Tennessee. Resided in 7th District, Carroll County, Tennessee in 1880. Resided in Living in 7th District, Carroll County, with his Aunt Catherine Wiles. in 1900.

On 11 Jan 1908 when Alex A. was 32, he married Josephine C. ROSS, daughter of Frederick Issac ROSS (1831-1910) & Mary Jane SMITH (1835-1906), in Carroll County, Tennessee. Born on 2 Dec 1875 in Carroll County, Tennessee. At the age of 92, Josephine C. died in Jackson, Madison County, Tennessee on 28 Nov 1968. Buried in Nov 1968 in Palestine Cemetery, Carroll County, Tennessee. Alias/AKA: "Josie".

They had the following children:
9 i. Johnny Fred (1909-1990)
ii. Mable Jewell. Born on 6 Nov 1911 in Clarksburg, Carroll County, Tennessee. At the age of 76, Mable Jewell died in Huntingdon, Carroll County, Tennessee in Dec 1987.

iii. Mary Wilma. Resided in Dyersburg, Dyer County, Tennessee in Aug 2000.

iv. Alex Walton. Resided in Cedar Grove, Carroll County, Tennessee in 2000.

Never married.


5. Lucian Young WILES. Born on 2 Feb 1879 in Huntingdon, Carroll County, Tennessee. At the age of 69, Lucian Young died in Porterville, Missouri in 1949. Buried in 1949 in Palestine Cemetery, 7th District, Carroll County, Tennessee.

Lucian Young married Ada DOUGLAS, daughter of James Alexander DOUGLAS (1845-1926) & Harriet Emmaline BRAY (1852-1922). Born in 1888. At the age of 49, Ada died in 1937. Buried in 1937 in Palestine Cemetery, Carroll County, Tennessee.

They had the following children:
10 i. Annie Sue (1910-1970)
ii. James Roy. Born on 31 May 1912. At the age of 82, James Roy died on 23 Jan 1995.

iii. Euel Leolen. Born on 31 Dec 1914. Resided in Nashville, Davidson County, Tennessee in Jan 2003.

Euel Leolen married Elizabeth BURTON, daughter of Henry Cornelius BURTON (1875-1948) & Elah J. MASSEY (1896-1976). Resided in Nashville, Davidson County, Tennessee in 1999.

11 iv. Thetus Coy (1917-)
v. Nola Mildred. Born on 17 Sep 1919 in Henderson County, Tennessee. At the age of 83, Nola Mildred died in Cape Girardeau, Missouri on 5 Jan 2003. Buried on 8 Jan 2003 in Union Park Cemetery, Chaffee, Missouri.

Obituary: Mildred Vickery, 83 died at 6:30 p.m. Jan 5 2003 at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau [Missouri]. Born Sept. 17, 1919, in Henderson Co. Tn.,daughter of the late Lucian Young and Ada Frances Douglas Wiles, she was a hairdresser and retired as owner and operator of Mildred's Beauty Shop. A member of the First Baptist Church in Chaffee, she was also a member of Chaffee PEO Sisterhood, the Chaffee Historical Society and past matron of Chaffee Order of the Eastern Star Chapter 48. On Nov. 27, 1940 she married Edwin P. Vickery who preceded her in death on July 25, 1998. She is survived by four brothers, Euel Wiles of Nashville, Tn. Coy Wiles of Klamath Falls, Ore. Paul Wiles of Springfield and Lawton Wiles of Jackson Tn. Two brothers and one sister also preceded her in death. Visitation begins at 4 p.m. today at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee. Services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the First Baptist Church with the Rev. Cliff Day officiating. Burial will follow in Union Park Cemetery. Pallbearers will be; Charlie Vickery, Jim Vickery, Bill Vickery, Brad Talley, Bill Talley, and Wallace Milam.


On 27 Nov 1940 when Nola Mildred was 21, she married Edwin P. VICKERY. Edwin P. died on 25 Jul 1998.

vi. Paul Ester. Born on 10 Mar 1922. Resided in Springfield, Missouri in Jan 2003.

vii. Clarence Alton. Born on 6 May 1924. At the age of 69, Clarence Alton died on 9 Sep 1993.

viii. Lawton Edward. Born on 10 Nov 1926. Resided in Jackson, Madison County, Tennessee in Jan 2003.


6. Houston McDonald WILES. Born in Feb 1884. At the age of 75, Houston McDonald died in Gideon, Missouri on 23 Sep 1959.

Houston McDonald first married Mollie Annie MORTON, daughter of William MORTON & Carrie DORMAN.

They had the following children:
12 i. Vernus B. (1906-)
13 ii. Norma Hazel
14 iii. Vernon

Houston McDonald second married Clara NEELY. Born in Arkansas.

They had the following children:
i. Billy.

ii. Jack.

iii. Mary Jane.

iv. Doris.

v. Merlyn.
