217. Curtis SINGLETON. Born on 4 Mar 1922 in Carroll County, Tennessee. At the age of 69, Curtis died in Carroll County, Tennessee on 22 Jan 1992. Buried in 1992 in New Hope Cemetery, Yuma, Carroll County, Tennessee.

On 25 Dec 1940 when Curtis was 18, he married Ruthie MATHIS, daughter of Urie Lee MATHIS (1897-1957) & Ollie Bertha HICKS (1897-1981), in Carroll County, Tennessee. Born on 6 Nov 1921. Alias/AKA: "Ruth".

They had one child:
i. Charles Edward.


218. William Lewis SINGLETON. Born on 25 Nov 1925 in Carroll County, Tennessee. At the age of 72, William Lewis died on 18 Mar 1998. Buried in Mar 1998 in Clarksburg Cemetery, Clarksburg, Carroll County, Tennessee.

William Lewis Singleton served in World War II, Korean Conflict, and the Vietnam Conflict.

William Lewis married Marty Sue KIRBY, daughter of Homer KIRBY (-1994) & Ada ROBINSON.

219. Willie Blane SINGLETON. Born on 24 Jan 1927 in Carroll County, Tennessee. At the age of 72, Willie Blane died in Lexington, Henderson County, Tennessee on 1 Aug 1999. Buried in Aug 1999 in Sellers Hill Cemetery, Clarksburg, Carroll County, Tennessee.

Obituary: Willie Blane Singleton, 72, of Cedar Grove, died Sunday, August 1, at the Lexington Manor Nursing Home. Services were held on Tuesday, August 3, at Dilday Funeral Home. Burial followed in the Sellers Hill Cemetery, near Clarksburg. Pallbearers who served were Bud Singleton, Ronald Hampton, Rodney Singleton, Keith Wallace, Josh Singleton, Jonathan Singleton, and Tommy Singleton. Mr. Singleton was born January 24, 1927, in Carroll County. He was a retired employee of the Carroll County Highway Department. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Wayne Singleton, Curtis Singleton, and Lewis Singleton. He is survived by two sons, Mike Singleton of Scotts Hill and Tim Singleton of Cedar Grove; a sister Frances Hampton of Clarksburg; five grandchildren and a great grandson.

Willie Blane married Betty Lou HAYS, daughter of John HAYS & Flura CAMPBELL. Betty Lou died in Dyersburg, Dyer County, Tennessee on 1 Jan 1966. Buried in Scotts Hill, Henderson County, Tennessee.

They had the following children:
i. Mike. Resided in Scotts Hill, Tennessee in 1999.

ii. Tim. Resided in Cedar Grove, Carroll County, Tennessee in 1999.


220. Thomas Wayne SINGLETON. Born on 24 Jan 1927. At the age of 29, Thomas Wayne died in 1957. Buried in 1957 in Sellers Hill Cemetery, Clarksburg, Carroll County, Tennessee.

Thomas Wayne married Sarah Mae VICK, daughter of Hubert VICK & Gertrude ?. Born on 7 Nov 1930 in Carroll County, Tennessee. At the age of 70, Sarah Mae died in Huntingdon, Carroll County, Tennessee on 8 Jun 2001. Buried on 10 Jun 2001 in Sellers Hill Cemetery, Clarksburg, Carroll County, Tennessee.

Obituary: Sarah Mae Singleton, 70, of Huntingdon, died Friday, June 8, at Baptist Memorial Hospital. Services were held on Sunday, June 10, in the Chapel of Dilday Funeral Home. Brother Tim H. Singleton officiated. Burial followed in the Sellers Hill Cemetery. Mrs. Singleton, the daughter of the late Hubert and Gertrude Vick, was born November 7, 1930, in Carroll County. She was a retired employee of Publix Shirt and a member of the Clarksburg Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Wayne Singleton; a son, Jerry Wayne Singleton; a brother, Homer Vick; and a sister, Ruth Whittmore. She is survived by a daughter, Janie Wallace of Wildersville; a son, Tommy Singleton of Clarksburg; a brother, R. Lee Vick of Augusta, Georgia; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

They had the following children:

221. Frances SINGLETON.

Frances married Ronald Earl HAMPTON, son of Charles Ervin HAMPTON (1910-1981) & Fannie REED (1916-1981). Born on 25 Sep 1939 in Westport, Carroll County, Tennessee. At the age of 61, Ronald Earl died in Huntingdon, Carroll County, Tennessee on 21 Jun 2001. Buried on 23 Jun 2001 in Clarksburg Cemetery, Clarksburg, Carroll County, Tennessee.

Obituary: Ronald Earl Hampton, 61, of Clarksburg, died Thursday, June 21, at Baptist Memorial Hospital. Services were held on Saturday, June 23 at Clarksburg Missionary Baptist Church. Brothers Phillip Halters and Jeff Bryant officiated. Burial followed in the Clarksburg Cemetery. Pallbearers who served were Tommy Singleton, Blake Singleton, Bud Singleton, Keith Wallace, Dwight Reed and Jeff Reed. Honorary pallbearer was Dale Massey. Dilday Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements. Mr. Hampton, the son of the late Ervin and Fannie Reed Hampton, was born September 25, 1939, in Westport. He was a retired drill presser for Leroy Somer. He was preceded in death by a brother, Richard Hampton. He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Frances Hampton; a son, Ronald Hampton of Clarksburg; a sister, Julia Umstead of Huntingdon; a brother, Tyler Hampton of Yuma; and a grandson.

They had one child:
i. Ronald.

Ronald married Kimberly AUTRY, daughter of Fred AUTRY (1925-1996) & Barbara ANDERSON (1925-).
