Obituary: The death of Homer Pendergrass, of the old 9th District, in the Wildersville Community, removed one of its most valued young men. Here in Lexington he was well known and well beloved, for here he attended school and the town became home to him. Homer Pendergrass would have been a power for good in the world had he lived and his untimely death from tuberculosis should make his surviving friends stand ready at all times to enlist in the war against the plague which causes one sixth of all deaths in this fair land.
Wildersville Items: Homer Pendergrass, aged 23, died at his home near Cross Roads after three years' affliction with the dreadful disease, tuberculosis. Funeral and burial services in the Cross Roads Cemetery, Elder T.M. Boyd officiating.

193 ii. Thomas Wesley (1902-1987)
