26. Elizabeth Frances TODD. Born on 24 Jan 1848. At the age of 85, Elizabeth Frances died on 24 Mar 1933. Buried in Mar 1933 in New Hope Cemetery, Yuma, Carroll County, Tennessee. Resided in 14th District, Carroll County, Tennessee in 1930. Alias/AKA: "Fannie".

Elizabeth Frances married James L. GOOCH, son of Pinkney Y. GOOCH (1820-1844) & Elizabeth COZART (1823-1904). Born on 12 Feb 1843. At the age of 72, James L. died on 20 Nov 1915. Buried in Nov 1915 in New Hope Cemetery, Yuma, Carroll County, Tennessee. Resided in District 14, Carroll County, Tennessee in 1880.

They had the following children:

iv. Roland. Born on 19 Sep 1876 in Carroll County, Tennessee. At the age of 73, Roland died on 11 Aug 1950. Buried in Aug 1950 in New Hope Cemetery, Yuma, Carroll County, Tennessee. Resided in District 14, Carroll County, Tennessee in 1880. Resided in District 14, Carroll County, Tennessee in 1930.

On 1 May 1921 when Roland was 44, he married Eva BIRDWELL, daughter of James W. BIRDWELL (1863-1935) & Mattie G. TODD (60) (1867-1935), in Carroll County, Tennessee. Born on 21 May 1887 in Tennessee. At the age of 82, Eva died on 29 Nov 1969. Buried in Nov 1969 in New Hope Cemetery, Yuma, Carroll County, Tennessee. Resided in District 9, Henderson County, Tennessee in 1900. Resided in District 14, Carroll County, Tennessee in 1930.

Roland Gooch and Eva Birdwell had no children.

v. Elizabeth. Born in 1880 in Carroll County, Tennessee. Resided in District 14, Carroll County, Tennessee in 1880.

viii. Ollie. Born on 2 Jul 1887 in Carroll County, Tennessee. At the age of 18, Ollie died in Carroll County, Tennessee on 3 Jul 1905. Buried in Jul 1905 in New Hope Cemetery, Yuma, Carroll County, Tennessee.


27. James Priestly TODD. Born on 15 Jan 1850 in Henderson County, Tennessee. At the age of 66, James Priestly died on 21 Oct 1916. Buried in Oct 1916 in Kizer Cemetery, Henderson County, Tennessee. Resided in District 17, Henderson County, Tennessee in 1870. Resided in District 17, Henderson County, Tennessee in 1880. Resided in District 17, Henderson County, Tennessee in 1900. Alias/AKA: "Pete". Cause of death: Drowned in Big Sandy River.

Obituary: Scarce Creek Items: Mr. Pete Todd, three miles south of Wildersville, committed suicide Saturday morning by drowning himself in the creek. Mr. Todd had not been in his right mind for some time. He is survived by three daughters and one son.

On 25 Jul 1872 when James Priestly was 22, he married Nancy Tabitha ADAMS, daughter of Levi ADAMS (1811-1879) & Susan RICE (1811-1897). Born on 28 Nov 1851 in Tennessee. At the age of 62, Nancy Tabitha died on 22 Feb 1914. Buried in Feb 1914 in Kizer Cemetery, Henderson County, Tennessee. Resided in District 17, Henderson County, Tennessee in 1870. Resided in District 17, Henderson County, Tennessee in 1900.

Obituary: Mrs. J.P. Todd, aged 55 years or more, died last Sunday in the old 17th district, leaving a husband, two daughters and one son.

Susan Estelle. Born on 8 Nov 1875 in Henderson County, Tennessee. At the age of 64, Susan Estelle died in Wildersville, Henderson County, Tennessee on 12 Jan 1940. Buried in Jan 1940 in Kizer Cemetery, Wildersville, Henderson County, Tennessee. Resided in District 17, Henderson County, Tennessee in 1880. Resided in District 17, Henderson County, Tennessee in 1900.

Obituary: Mrs. Estelee Todd Smith died in her home near Wildersville January 12th, 1940, aged 64 years. She was the daughter of the late J.P. and Nancy Todd and was married to J.T. Smith and February 22, 1922. She had no children of her own but was a loving mother to Mr. Smith's son and daughter by a former marriage. She is survived by her husband and two stepchildren, Joe Smith and Mrs. Lessie Rush of Trenton; one brother, R.C. Rush of Trenton and one sister, Mrs. H.A. (Bettie) Frazier of Wildersville. Funeral services were conducted in the home by Rev. T.M. Boyd of Memphis with burial in Kizer Cemetery.

On 21 Feb 1922 when Susan Estelle was 46, she married John T. SMITH.

iii. Sulinda May. Born on 8 May 1878 in Henderson County, Tennessee. At the age of 58, Sulinda May died on 10 May 1936. Buried in May 1936 in Hare Cemetery, Henderson County, Tennessee. Resided in District 17, Henderson County, Tennessee in 1880. Resided in District 17, Henderson County, Tennessee in 1900. Alias/AKA: "Ludie".

Ludie Todd had no children of her own. She married Joe Roberts who wife, Minnie Azbill, daughter of Harvey Azbill and Nancy Jane Howell had died in childbirth with her 11th child. It is said that Ludie raised these children as her own and they loved her dearly. Joe Roberts was the brother of uncle Leroy Roberts who married grandma's sister, Aunt Mandy Azbill.

Obituary: Mrs. Lula May Todd Roberts, daughter of James P. Todd and Nancy Adams Todd, was born May 10, 1878, in the family home 2 1/2 miles south of Wildersville. In early maidenhood she made a profession of religion and united with the Missionary Baptist Church and lived a consecrated, faithful member until her death, which occurred at her home one mile south of Wildersville on the morning of March 13, 1936. She was married to J.S. Roberts on May 10, 1902, and to them no children were born, but she bestowed a mother's love and care on the children of her husband by a previous marriage. She was a dutiful daughter, a loving and helpful sister, a true and faithful wife, a most gracious and helpful neighbor--a person who in her entire life was always ready to visit the sick and minister to the their needs. No one entertains a doubt that she had gone to that home that Jesus left earth to prepare. She was survived by two sisters, Mrs. Esterlee Smith and Mrs. Bettie Kizer, and one brother, Robert C. Kizer, all of the vicinity of Wildersville. Funeral services were held by Rev. Fleetwood Ball at the Hare graveyard where she was buried.

On 10 May 1902 when Sulinda May was 24, she married Joseph S. ROBERTS, son of William Roy ROBERTS (1841-1907) & Elizabeth Ann WOOD (1846-1921). Born on 15 Sep 1872. At the age of 81, Joseph S. died in Henderson County, Tennessee on 16 Jul 1954. Buried in Jul 1954 in Hare Cemetery, Henderson County, Tennessee. Resided in District 9, Henderson County, Tennessee in 1900. Resided in District 1, Henderson County, Tennessee in 1920. Alias/AKA: "Joe".

vi. Levy. Born on 18 May 1886. Levy died on 15 Feb 1887. Buried in Feb 1887 in Kizer Cemetery, Wildersville, Henderson County, Tennessee.

vii. Sam Page. Born on 26 Sep 1889. At the age of 6, Sam Page died on 22 Jun 1896. Buried in Jun 1896 in Kizer Cemetery, Wildersville, Henderson County, Tennessee.

28. Melvina TODD. Born in Jul 1855 in Tennessee. Buried in Alderbrook Cemetery, Desha, Arkansas. Resided in District 17, Henderson County, Tennessee in 1870.

Melvina married Robert MOORE. Born in May 1849 in Mississippi. Buried in Alderbrook Cemetery, Desha, Arkansas.

Both Robert Moore and Melvina Todd moved to Bemis, just south of Jackson in Madison County in the 1880s.

They had the following children:
i. James Alfred. Born in Oct 1871 in Tennessee.

James Alfred married Marguerite Elizabeth RUTLEDGE. Born in Sep 1871 in Arkansas. Alias/AKA: "Phoebe".

ii. Mattie. Born in Mar 1877 in Tennessee.

iii. John R.. Born in Aug 1878 in Tennessee.

iv. Betty. Born in 1880.

v. Josie. Born in Sep 1883 in Arkansas.

vi. Arthur. Born in Jan 1886 in Arkansas.

vii. Henry. Born in Aug 1888 in Arkansas.

viii. Thomas. Born in Jan 1890 in Arkansas. Buried in Alderbrook Cemetery, Desha, Arkansas.


29. Robert T. TODD. Born in 1859 in Henderson County, Tennessee. At the age of 75, Robert T. died in 1934. Buried in 1934 in Kizer Cemetery, Wildersville, Henderson County, Tennessee. Resided in District 17, Henderson County, Tennessee in 1870. Resided in District 17, Henderson County, Tennessee in 1880. Resided in District 9, Henderson County, Tennessee in 1900. Alias/AKA: "Bob".

Robert T. married Olevia R. GRAVES, daughter of Major Lee GRAVES (1831-1905) & Mary Gilliam ADAMS (1839-1905). Born in 1866 in Henderson County, Tennessee. At the age of 81, Olevia R. died in 1947. Resided in District 17, Henderson County, Tennessee in 1870. Resided in District 9, Henderson County, Tennessee in 1900.

They had the following children:
i. Ellie Mae. Born on 8 Mar 1889. At the age of 1, Ellie Mae died on 11 Jan 1891. Buried in Jan 1981 in Kizer Cemetery, Wildersville, Henderson County, Tennessee.

William A. married Mary Sue SWAFFORD. Born in Jul 1864. Buried in Near Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Resided in District 17, Henderson County, Tennessee in 1900.

Rufus LaCurgas TODD. Born on 28 Mar 1864 in Wildersville, Henderson County, Tennessee. At the age of 48, Rufus LaCurgas died in Wildersville, Henderson County, Tennessee on 18 Mar 1913. Buried in Mar 1913 in Kizer Cemetery, Wildersville, Henderson County, Tennessee. Resided in District 17, Henderson County, Tennessee in 1870. Resided in District 17, Henderson County, Tennessee in 1880. Alias/AKA: "Curg".

In 1893 when Rufus LaCurgas was 28, he married Mary Elizabeth WEBB, daughter of Thomas WEBB (1816-1875) & Elizabeth MYRACLE (1838-). Born on 15 Oct 1873. At the age of 80, Mary Elizabeth died on 23 Jan 1954. Buried in Jan 1854 in Kizer Cemetery, Henderson County, Tennessee.
