Sarah Elizabeth married Abner E. RUSH, son of James E. RUSH (1809-1889) & Sally CODY. Born in Mar 1839 in Henderson County, Tennessee. Resided in District 17, Henderson County,Tennessee in 1860. Resided in District 17, Henderson County, Tennessee in 1900. They had the following children:
Abner Rush and wife, Sarah Elizabeth Cunningham, lived in Gibson County, Tennessee. 21. James B. CUNNINGHAM. Born on 20 Aug 1859 in Henderson County, Tennessee. At the age of 71, James B. died on 10 Nov 1930. Buried in Nov 1930 in Jones Cemetery, Wildersville, Henderson County, Tennessee. Resided in District 17, Henderson County, Tennessee in 1860. Resided in District 9, Henderson County, Tennessee in 1900. Resided in District 1, Henderson County, Tennessee in 1920. Obituary: J. B. Cunningham was born August 20, 1859, and departed this life on November 10th, 1930, aged 71 years. He was married to Miss Barbara Kizer forty -eight years ago and to this union were born eight children, one dying at the age of two years, and Mrs. Miles (Bettie) Webb, dying at the age of twenty-one. He is survived by his widow, two sons, Tommie and John of Wildersville; four daughters, Mrs. Edmund (Lessie) Hester of Yuma, Mrs. Hubert (Lela) Webb of Memphis, Mrs. George (Minnie) Bolen and Mrs. Jim (George) Bolen of Wildersville; twelve grandchildren, one brother, Wash Cunningham of Blytheville, Arkansas, and one sister, Mrs. Nancy Brewer of Jackson. Miss Ruby Webb, daughter of Bettie, was given a place in her grandparents' home at the age of two months. She was reared as one of their own. She was married some time ago to Morris Brooks of Middleton. He professed faith in Christ and joined the Baptist Church at Parker's Crossroads thirty-five years ago. -- His son, T.L. Cunningham. In 1882 when James B. was 22, he married Barbara KIZER, daughter of George KIZER (1825-1865) & Sarah FRONABARGER (1829-1920). Born on 17 Mar 1856 in Gaston County, North Carolina. At the age of 88, Barbara died in Henderson County, Tennessee in Jun 1944. Buried in Jun 1944 in Jones Cemetery, Wildersville, Henderson County, Tennessee. Resided in District 9, Henderson County, Tennessee in 1870. Resided in District 17, Henderson County, Tennessee in 1880. Resided in District 9, Henderson County, Tennessee in 1900. Resided in District 1, Henderson County, Tennessee in 1920. Obituary: Barbara Ann Cunningham was born in Gaston County, North Carolina, on March 17, 1856. She was the daughter of George and Sarah Kizer. Her father lost his life in the Civil War. At the age of 15 her mother moved her family across the mountains into what is now Henderson County. The journey was more difficult than we can imagine. The older children walked all the way. No traveling was ever done on Sunday. The trip lasted about three months. Barbara Kizer was married to James B. Cunningham. To this union were born eight children: Walter, who died at the age of 14 months, Mrs. Lessie Hester, Paris, Tennessee, Mrs. Betty Webb, who died at the age of 21, leaving Ruby (Mrs. Morris Brooks), to the care of her husband, Miles Webb, and mother, Mrs. Hubert (Lela) Webb, of Lake Charles, Louisiana, T.L. Cunningham of Milan, John Cunningham of Wildersville, Mrs. George (Minnie) Bolen, Lexington, and Mrs. James (Georgia) Bolen of Wildersville. She professed faith in Christ at the age of 23, and together with her husband, became a charter member of the church at Cross Roads. She was faithful to her Savior. She taught her children to love and obey the Lord. During her long illness she expressed a desire to meet, first, her Savior, and then her husband, who preceded her in death 13 years ago. She was nursed lovingly and faithfully by her daughter, Georgia, and her family. Funeral services were conducted in the Wildersville Baptist Church by Bros. George Bolen and Walter Moody. She is survived by six children, twelve grandchildren, and two great grandchildren. Her body was laid to rest in the Jones Cemetery beside her husband there to await resurrection.
