20. Homer L. OLIVE. Born in 1860 in Henderson County, Tennessee. At the age of 81, Homer L. died in Henderson County, Tennessee in 1941. Buried in 1941 in Rock Springs Cemetery, Henderson County, Tennessee.

Obituary: Homer Olive, aged 84, died at his home near Rock Springs Friday afternoon. Funeral services were held at Rock Springs. Survivors are his wife and four sons, John, Sam, Orb, and Ivory; two daughters, Mrs. Sebe (Lillie) Pendergrass and Mrs. Clarence (Sudie) Barnett. Mr. Olive was one of the best known citizens in this end of the county and his passing is deeply regretted. --Louise Carrington, Reporter, Wildersville Items.

On 25 Dec 1886 when Homer L. was 26, he married Julia Ann Lucinda TAYLOR, daughter of William Henry Harrison TAYLOR (1840-1922) & Nancy Susan MEALS (1843-1868). Born on 18 Nov 1861 in Henderson County, Tennessee. At the age of 82, Julia Ann Lucinda died in Henderson County, Tennessee on 10 May 1944. Buried in May 1944 in Rock Springs Cemetery, Henderson County, Tennessee.

Obituary: Julia Ann Lucinda (Taylor) Olive was born September 18, 1860. and died May 10, 1944, aged 83 years. She was married to Homer L. Olive in 1886, who preceded her to the grave three years ago. The couple had eight children, with two dying in infancy. Surviving children are John, Sam, Orb, and Ivory, all of the home place; Mrs. C.B. Pendergrass, this county, and Mrs. C.L. Barnett of Huntingdon; one brother, Bud Taylor, one half brother, Joe Taylor, Hot Springs, Arkansas; and one half-sister, Emma Taylor, of Bruceton. Rev. D.A. Bishop conducted the funeral service at Rock Springs Cemetery.

They had the following children:
i. John William. Born on 2 Oct 1886. Resided in Henderson County, Tennessee in 1944.

ii. Lillian K.. Born on 20 Nov 1890. Buried in Rock Springs Cemetery, Henderson County, Tennessee. Resided in Henderson County, Tennessee in 1944.

Lillian K. married Seabron Blaine PENDERGRASS, son of John Wesley PENDERGRASS (1839-1917) & Elizabeth Cerena KIRBY (1848-1890). Born on 26 Nov 1879. At the age of 73, Seabron Blaine died in Tennessee in 1953. Buried in 1953 in Rock Springs Cemetery, Henderson County, Tennessee.

iii. Sam Leroy. Born on 20 Nov 1890. At the age of 76, Sam Leroy died in Tennessee in 1967. Buried in 1967 in Jones Cemetery, Henderson County, Tennessee. Resided in Henderson County, Tennessee in 1944.

Sam Leroy married Lois R. BURTON, daughter of Henry Cornelius BURTON (1875-1948) & Martha A. MILAM (1877-1914). Born in 1894 in Tennessee. At the age of 79, Lois R. died in Tennessee in 1973. Buried in 1973 in Jones Cemetery, Henderson County, Tennessee. Resided in 8th District, Carroll County, Tennessee in 1900.

iv. Orby. Born on 4 Feb 1893. At the age of 80, Orby died in 1974. Buried in 1974 in Rock Springs Cemetery, Henderson County, Tennessee. Resided in Henderson County, Tennessee in 1944.

Orby married Lucille A.. Born in 1900. At the age of 89, Lucille A. died in 1989. Buried in 1989 in Rock Springs Cemetery, Henderson County, Tennessee.

v. Sudie. Born on 23 Jul 1896. Resided in Huntingdon, Carroll County, Tennessee in 1944.

Sudie married Clarence L. BARNETT, son of Sterling Price BARNETT Senior (1862-1936) & Mollie BURTON (1874-1959). Born in 1896 in Tennessee.

21. William Jess OLIVE. Born on 25 Feb 1861. At the age of 82, William Jess died in Henderson County, Tennessee on 8 Jan 1944. Buried in 1944 in Jones Cemetery, Wildersville, Henderson County, Tennessee.

Obituary: Dies at Home: William Jesse Olive was born February 25, 1861, and died January 8, 1944, aged 82 years. He was married to Miss Betty Lyon in 1891. She preceded him to the grave in 1926. To his union were born two daughters, Mrs. Jessie Mae Parker and Mrs. Ophelia Beal. He was later married to Mrs. Emily Tate in 1928. He was kind and devoted to his family, a splendid neighbor and a good citizen. He was courteous and friendly to all with whom he came in contact. His funeral was conducted in his home by Elder J.L. Fuller with interment in Jones Cemetery.

In 1891 when William Jess was 29, he first married Betty LYON. Born on 16 Dec 1860. At the age of 65, Betty died on 1 Sep 1926. Buried in Sep 1926 in Jones Cemetery, Wildersville, Henderson County, Tennessee.

In 1928 when William Jess was 66, he second married Emili Harriet ADAMS, daughter of Phillip ADAMS (1821-) & Elizabeth ELLISON. Born on 7 Dec 1865 in Henderson County, Tennessee. At the age of 78, Emili Harriet died on 4 Mar 1944. Buried in 1944 in Jones Cemetery, Wildersville, Henderson County, Tennessee.

22. Mary Elizabeth OLIVE. Born in 1864. At the age of 76, Mary Elizabeth died in Henderson County, Tennessee in 1940. Buried on 13 Dec 1940 in Coffman Cemetery, Henderson County, Tennessee. Resided in 8th District, Henderson County, Tennessee in 1880. Cause of death: Typhoid Fever.

Obituary: Mrs. S. H. Taylor, aged 76, died at her home December 1st, 1940, in the northern part of the county. She had spent her entire life in Henderson County where she was a member of the Methodist Church. Funeral services were held at Rock Springs Church with burial in Coffman Cemetery. Survivors include her husband of fifty-three years; three daughters, Mrs. Lula Ware of Center Ridge, Mrs. Lanness Cunningham of Lexington, Miss Macil Taylor, Rock Springs; and three sons, Jess Taylor of Center Ridge, John and Malcolm Taylor of Rock Springs. She also leaves one sister, Mrs. Bud Kee, and four brothers, Homer, Jess, John and Bob Olive, all of Henderson County.

Mary Elizabeth married Samuel Henderson TAYLOR, son of William Henry Harrison TAYLOR (1840-1922) & Nancy Susan MEALS (1843-1868). Born on 16 Mar 1863. At the age of 93, Samuel Henderson died in 1957. Buried in 1957 in Coffman Cemetery, Henderson County, Tennessee. Alias/AKA: "Bud".

iv. Macel. Born on 25 Jun 1907 in Tennessee. At the age of 67, Macel died in Tennessee on 8 Feb 1975. Buried in 1975 in Hare Cemetery, Henderson County, Tennessee.

Macel first married Strody Etheridge SMALL, son of William M. SMALL (1858-) & Mary Mack RUSH. Born in 1894. At the age of 76, Strody Etheridge died in 1970. Buried in 1970 in Hare Cemetery, Henderson County, Tennessee. Alias/AKA: "Strody".

Macel second married Elam FESMIRE, son of John Wesley FESMIRE (1852-) & Ada McDANIEL (1868-). Born in Sep 1894 in Henderson County, Tennessee. At the age of 85, Elam died in 1980. Buried in 1980 in Henderson County Memorial Gardens, Henderson County, Tennessee. Resided in Lived with McDaniel grandparents in 1910. in 1910.

v. Emmett Malcom. Born in 1908. At the age of 82, Emmett Malcom died in Henderson County, Tennessee in 1990. Buried in 1990 in Marlin Cemetery, Wildersville, Henderson County, Tennessee. Emmett Malcom served in World War II as a private. Alias/AKA: "Mack". Military: World War II veteran.

Emmett Malcom married Willie MARLIN, daughter of George MARLIN (1894-1974) & Maggie McDANIEL (1893-1970). Born on 25 Apr 1918 in Henderson County, Tennessee.

23. John H. OLIVE. Born on 16 Aug 1868. At the age of 76, John H. died in Wildersville, Henderson County, Tennessee on 14 Mar 1945. Buried in 1945 in Jones Cemetery, Wildersville, Henderson County, Tennessee. Resided in 8th District, Henderson County, Tennessee in 1880.

Obituary: Dies Near Wildersville: John H. Olive, son of Howell and Martha Olive, was born August 16, 1868, and died March 14, 1945, aged 76 years. He was married to Josie Florence Kee February 19, 1892, and to this union seven children were born, three dying several years ago. His wife died about a year ago. Surviving children are Bailey of Crossroads; Mrs. Lester Walker of Williamsport, Tennessee; Mrs. Ray Herndon of Paducah, Kentucky, and Mart, who has always lived with his father. He is survived by eight grandchildren. One grandson, Achlee, is in the Armed Forces. One brother, Bob Olive, lives at Rock Springs. Largely attended funeral services were held in the Baptist Church at Wildersville with burial in Jones Cemetery, Rev. Walter Moody officiating.

On 25 Feb 1892 when John H. was 23, he married Josie Florence KEE, daughter of Martin Luther KEE (1843-1926) & Susan Morning COX (1849-1888), in Carroll County, Tennessee. Born on 28 Sep 1872 in Carroll County, Tennessee. At the age of 71, Josie Florence died in Henderson County, Tennessee in Oct 1943. Buried in 1943 in Jones Cemetery, Wildersville, Henderson County, Tennessee.

Obituary: Goes to Her Reward: Rev. W.A. Moody of Parsons conducted the funeral services for Mrs. John H. (Josie) Olive at the Wildersville Baptist Church October 15th, 1943. One of the largest crowds ever to gather in Wildersville was present to hear the final tributes of respect paid to the life of this good woman. Mrs. Olive died about noon on the preceding Wednesday at her home near Strayleaf ten miles north of Lexington. Mrs. Olive was the daughter of the late Mart L. and Susan Cox Kee, and was born in Carroll County September 28, 1872, being at the time of her death 71 years old. On February 25, 1892, she was married to John H. Olive, and to this union seven children were born. Three of them preceded her to the grave. The four children surviving are Mrs. L.A. (Vernon) Walker of Williamsport, Tennessee, Mrs. A.R. (Jessie) Herndon of Paducah, Kentucky, J. Bailey Olive of Parker's Crossroads, and Mart H. Olive, who with his family, has lived in the home of his parents for several years. Surviving also are two brothers, James Kee of Clarksburg, and Emmett W. Kee of Dexter, Missouri; a step-mother, Mrs. Mart L. Kee, and a half sister, Mrs. T.T. Yancy, of Ravenna, Kentucky. Following the services at the church, her body was conveyed to the Jones Cemetery at Wildersville were burial was made.

They had the following children:
i. Fenton. Born in 1895. At the age of 7, Fenton died in 1902. Buried in 1902 in Coffman Cemetery, Henderson County, Tennessee.

iv. Joe Bascel. Born in 1900. At the age of 5, Joe Bascel died in 1905. Buried in 1905 in Coffman Cemetery, Henderson County, Tennessee.

Obituary: Parkers Crossroads (by J.B.W.): Little Baskwell, twin boy of our friend, John Olive, died on the 30th of last month. He had been down with slow fever for about three months. He only lacked one day being five years old. Mr. Olive had the same fever last year and his wife is just recovering from an attack. They have our heartfelt sympathy in the loss of their sweet little boy.
