Obituary: Death of Aged Citizen: Lemuel L. Hare, aged 79 years, a member of one of the oldest and best known families of Henderson County, died in Lexington, June 8th, 1933, at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Fenner Howard, with whom he and his wife, who survives, had made their home for several years. He had been seriously ill for only a few days, but had been in bad health since he had sustained a fall on the ice-covered ground last fall, and his death was not unexpected. He had talked about it and planned for it, as he would have had he been planning a trip. He had his grave prepared and loving hands of his daughter and relatives carried out his requests, satisfied with the knowledge that his last resting place is as he wished it, and only a few days before he died, the concrete vault which was built according to his instructions was completed. He was the third son of the late John Banks and Emmarelia Stanford Hare. On the 23rd of December, 1882, he was happily married to Miss Nannie Wallace, daughter of the late Jake and Betty Wallace, and to this union, four children were born: Ebbie (Mrs. Fenner Howard), Effie (Mrs. Henry Howard), John, who died at the age of 17, and one who died in infancy. He also is survived by one brother, John L. of Alberton, and two nephews and two nieces. Friday at one o'clock, his remains were carried to the beautiful old home in the country near Alberton. Here he was laid to rest for the last time in the house, which for many years had been his home, and while a song was sung, the large crowd passed by his casket for the last look, after which he was conveyed to the Hare Cemetery nearby, where for many years members of the Hare family have been laid to rest. He was a member of the Church of Christ for more than 50 years, and in keeping with his request that his funeral service be simple, Elder J.O. Brown paid a short tribute to his memory with an earnest prayer by Rev. Fleetwood Ball, a friend of the family, and one song was sung while others who had gathered at the cemetery instead of the home might view the remains of their friend. Kind and friendly, a man of many good deeds and the charitable acts, he will be greatly missed by those who loved him.

Lemuel LeGrande married Nancy Emeline WALLACE. Born in 1862. At the age of 79, Nancy Emeline died in 1941. Buried in 1941 in Hare Cemetery, Henderson County, Tennessee. Alias/AKA: "Nannie".

They had the following children:
i. Ebbie.

Ebbie married Fenner HOWARD, son of Charles F. HOWARD (1851-1930) & Cornelia BROWN.

ii. Effie.

Effie married Henry HOWARD.

iii. John. Born on 12 Aug 1895. At the age of 17, John died on 11 Apr 1913. Buried in 1913 in Hare Cemetery, Henderson County, Tennessee.
