On 20 Jul 1919 when John William Columbus was 28, he married Mary Ila HAYWOOD, daughter of Martin Ancel HAYWOOD (1872-1958) & Louveda TAYLOR (1878-1953). Born on 2 Mar 1899 in Carroll County, Tennessee. At the age of 74, Mary Ila died in Decatur County, Tennessee on 21 Jan 1974. Buried in Jan 1974 in New Hope Cemetery, Yuma, Carroll County, Tennessee. They had the following children:
John and Ila both deceased as a result of an automobile accident on 21 January 1974. 55. Rose Anna GIBSON. Born on 24 Sep 1894 in Henderson County, Tennessee. At the age of 87, Rose Anna died in Carroll County, Tennessee on 27 Dec 1981. On 15 Nov 1914 when Rose Anna was 20, she married James Homer PINCKLEY Senior, son of Marcellus PINCKLEY (1842-1899) & Mary E. FOWLER (1854-1925), in Henderson County, Tennessee. Born on 13 Aug 1890 in Carroll County, Tennessee. At the age of 80, James Homer died in Carroll County, Tennessee on 23 Apr 1971. They had the following children:
56. Irva Lavinia GIBSON. Born on 24 Feb 1897. At the age of 66, Irva Lavinia died in Paris, Henry County, Tennessee on 3 Sep 1963. Buried in Sep 1963 in Caledonia Cemetery, Henry County, Tennessee. Alias/AKA: "Ervie". On 14 Dec 1913 when Irva Lavinia was 16, she married Felix SMITH (28) , son of Lemuel Anderson SMITH (1860-1927) & Nancy Camilia SEGRAVES (8) (1867-1946), in Henderson County, Tennessee. Born on 22 May 1892 in Henderson County, Tennessee. At the age of 75, Felix died in Paris, Henry County, Tennessee on 1 Aug 1967. Buried on 3 Aug 1967 in Caledonia Cemetery, Henry County, Tennessee. They had the following children:
