Family of Parmelia SCOTT (37) & Howard MERRITT

91. Bennie MERRITT. Born in Dec 1883. At the age of 41, Bennie died in 1925. Resided in 7th District, Carroll County, Tennessee in 1900.

Bennie married Ella HOOD (166) , daughter of Wylie Allen HOOD (1832-1908) & Mary Jane SCOTT (59) (1845-1916). Born on 27 May 1882 in Carroll County, Tennessee. At the age of 81, Ella died on 12 Sep 1963.

They had the following children:
i. Walter D.. Born in 1914. At the age of 45, Walter D. died in 1959. Buried in 1959 in Christian Chapel Cemetery, Leach, Carroll County, Tennessee.

Walter D. married Mary Lucille ESKEW. Born in 1917.
ii. Cletus A.. Cletus A. died in 1981.

Cletus A. married Opal KIRBY, daughter of Horace R. KIRBY (1891-1970) & Esther PENDERGRASS (1890-1975). Born on 19 Jul 1910 in Carroll County, Tennessee. At the age of 79, Opal died in Gibson County, Tennessee on 21 Nov 1989.
