Obituary: Services for James Newton Todd, 80, of 20367 Alabama Hwy 9 South, Piedmont, were April 12 at 2 p.m. at Thompson Funeral Home Chapel with Jimmy Kennedy officiating. Burial was in Highland Cemetery. Mr. Todd passed away April 10 at Jacksonville Hospital. Survivors include his wife, Minnie Ola Todd of Piedmont; three sons, Alan Todd, Stanley Todd and Phillip Todd, all of Piedmont; four sisters, Marie Jowers of Jackson, Tenn., Shirley Floyd of Proctor, Ark., Billie Sue Greenway of Memphis, Tenn. and Josie Coffelt of Seaford, Va.; a brother, Robert Todd of Cedar Grove, Tenn.; and five grandsons. Pallbearers were Wesley Todd, Matthew Todd, Jamie Todd, Andrew Todd, Patrick Todd, Haynes Morgan, L.T. Morgan and James Hudson. Born in Henderson Country, Tenn., Mr. Todd was a veteran of the Army. He was honorably discharged in 1946. For several years, he was a dental technician and he owned partnership in a supermarket in Piedmont for 19 years. He retired from U.S. Commissary at Fort McClellan in 1982. He was a member of Piedmont Church of Christ and was a disabled veteran. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Piedmont Church of Christ, Piedmont Rescue Squad or to a favorite charity. On 20 Jun 1945 when James Newton was 30, he married Minnie Ola MORGAN. They had the following children:

On 15 Aug 1945 when Robert Ray was 28, he married Joyce Marie PETERSON, daughter of Alvin Franklin PETERSON (1902-) & Alzada HAMILTON (1902-). They had the following children:
152. Gladys Marie TODD. Born on 29 Jul 1921 in Henderson County, Tennessee. At the age of 80, Gladys Marie died on 16 Jan 2002. Buried on 19 Jan 2002 in Highland Memorial Gardens, Jackson, Madison County, Tennessee. Resided in Jackson, Madison County, Tennessee in Jan 1981. Obituary: Age 80. January 16, 2002. Preceded in death by parents, Robert C. and Estell Todd; husband, Robert P. Jowers; brothers, Buford Todd, Jack Todd, Robert Todd and J. N. Todd and sister, Alma Miller. Survived by sons, Robert C. Jowers, Jackson and Jimmy Lee (Molly) Jowers, Nashville; grandsons, Joshua M. Jowers and Joseph A. Jowers, Nashville; sisters, Billie (Bobby Ray) Greenway, Memphis, Shirley (Richard) Floyd, West Memphis, AR and Josie Mae (Terry) Cofett, Virginia; numerous nieces and nephews. Mrs. Jowers was a member of Westover Baptist Church. Visitation with the family will be Friday, January 18th beginning at 2:00 PM at the funeral home. Funeral will be 10:00 AM Saturday, January 19th at George A. Smith and Sons South Chapel with interment at Highland Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers are Lee Tomlinson, Jim Tomlinson, Danny Jackson, Ted Wells, Danny Turner and Bobby Greenway. Gladys Marie first married Thomas MELTON. Killed in World War II. Gladys Marie second married Robert Paul JOWERS. They had the following children:
153. Josie Mae TODD. Born on 5 Jul 1932 in Henderson County, Tennessee. Resided in Shreveport, Virginia in Jan 1981. Resided in Seaford, Virginia in Jan 2002. On 10 May 1952 when Josie Mae was 19, she married Terry COFFELT. They had the following children:
154. Shirley Frances TODD. Born on 1 Aug 1936. Resided in Germantown, Tennessee in Jan 1981. Resided in West Memphis, Arkansas in Jan 2002. On 23 Feb 1957 when Shirley Frances was 20, she married Robert Milton FLOYD. Alias/AKA: "Dickie". They had one child:
155. Billie Sue TODD. Born on 3 Sep 1939 in Henderson County, Tennessee. Resided in Memphis, Shelby County, Tennessee in Jan 1981. Resided in Memphis, Shelby County, Tennessee in Jan 2002. On 27 Sep 1957 when Billie Sue was 18, she married Bobby Ray GREENWAY. They had the following children:
