On 25 Dec 1894 when Eugene was 20, he married Mary Etta BURTON, daughter of James Allen BURTON (1839-1929) & Cordelia PRITCHARD (1854-1884), in Carroll County, Tennessee. Cause of Death: Grover Gooch drowned in a sinkhole at the Yuma levee of the Big Sandy River.
