75. Jeff Willard BARNES. Born in 1922 in Lavinia, Carroll County, Tennessee. At the age of 82, Jeff Willard died in Jackson, Madison County, Tennessee on 9 Jan 2004. Alias/AKA: "J.W.".

Obituary: Funeral services for Jeff Willard (J.W.) Barnes, 82, will be held Monday, January 12, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. from the chapel of Lawrence-Sorensen Funeral Home with the Reverend Calvin Moore officiating and Harold Mangrum officiating. Burial will follow in Lavinia Cemetery. Mr. Barnes died Friday, January 9, 2004 at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital. He was born in Carroll County, educated in the county schools, and was the son of the late Sam M. Barnes and Hazel Bell Rainey Barnes. He was retired from American Olean Tile with 20 years of service. He was a member of Lavinia Baptist Church. He served in World War II in the U.S. Army and received the Bronze Star, the Purple Heart and the Oak Leaf Cluster. Survivors include his wife, Louise Mangrum Barnes, to whom he was married 62 years, having married on January 2, 1942; one daughter, Diane Johnson and husband, James C. Johnson of Jackson; three granddaughters, Kim Towater and husband, Todd of Jackson, Tammy Moore and husband, Barney of Jackson and Natalie Johnson of Jackson; and five great grandchildren. Active pallbearers will be James C. Johnson, Todd Towater, Barney Moore, Matt Fowler, Ryan Towater and Brandon Moore. Visitation will be this evening at the funeral home from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.

On 2 Jan 1942 when Jeff Willard was 20, he married Louise MANGRUM, in Tennessee.

They had one child:
