24. Mary Hortense RAINEY. Born on 24 Sep 1874 in Camden, Quachita County, Arkansas.

On 2 Oct 1895 when Mary Hortense was 21, she married Edgar Amos SCHAFER, in Camden, Ouachita County, Arkansas. Born on 29 Sep 1872 in Carrollton, Illinois. At the age of 38, Edgar Amos died in Camden, Ouachita County, Arkansas on 10 Jul 1911.

Edgar Schafer came to Camden, Arkansas about 1893. He was in the lumber business and was also a Mason.

Edgar Amos Schafer, oldest son of Mrs. Ella L. Schafer of St. Louis and brother of the Roy Schafer of Carrollton, died Monday of last week at Camden, Arkansas. He was engaged in the lumber business. He was born Sep 29, 1872, 1 mile west of Carrollton. He was married at Camden Oct 2 1895 to Miss May Rainey, who survives him together with four children.

They had the following children:
53 i. Arthur Reed (1896-)
ii. George Rainey. Born on 22 Sep 1898 in Camden, Ouachita County, Arkansas. At the age of 46, George Rainey died on 6 May 1945.
54 iii. Edna Pearl (1900-1993)
55 iv. Martha Ella (1911-1977)
