Joseph Samuel first married Ruby HESTER, daughter of Hardy Ashley HESTER (1843-1919) & Alice Elizabeth UMSTEAD (1862-1915). Born on 18 Jun 1897. At the age of 69, Ruby died in Henderson County, Tennessee on 31 Oct 1966. Buried in 1966 in Jones Cemetery, Wildersville, Henderson County, Tennessee.

Kennedy married Kermit SIMPSON. Born on 16 Apr 1910. At the age of 79, Kermit died on 11 Jun 1989. Buried in Jun 1989 in Parkers Crossroads Cemetery, Henderson County, Tennessee. Alias/AKA: "Mack".
