15. Mary Ann PRITCHARD. Born on 2 Nov 1815 in Anson County, North Carolina. At the age of 53, Mary Ann died in Henderson County, Tennessee on 22 Apr 1869. Buried in Apr 1869 in Pearson Cemetery, Henderson County, Tennessee. Resided in District 10, Henderson County, Tennessee in 1860.

Mary Ann married Nathan PEARSON, son of John PEARSON (1781-1842) & Penelope TAYLOR (1784-1870). Born on 27 Jun 1811 in Anson County, North Carolina. At the age of 77, Nathan died in Henderson County, Tennessee on 23 Apr 1889. Buried in 1889 in Pearson Cemetery, Henderson County, Tennessee. Resided in District 10, Henderson County, Tennessee in 1860. Resided in District 8, Henderson County, Tennessee in 1870.

Nathan Pearson, 8th District, Henderson County, Tennessee, owned 16 slaves during the 1860 Census.

John C. Pearson lived with the George Massey family, District 8, Henderson County, Tennessee, during the 1900 census.

iii. Jemima Elizabeth. Born on 15 Jan 1845 in Henderson County, Tennessee. At the age of 21, Jemima Elizabeth died in Henderson County, Tennessee on 30 Jan 1866. Buried in 1866 in Pearson Cemetery, Henderson County, Tennessee. Resided in 10th District, Henderson County, Tennessee in 1860.

iv. Elizabeth A.. Born in 1847 in Henderson County, Tennessee. Elizabeth A. died in Henderson County, Tennessee on 9 Oct 1847.

Military: Solomon D. Pritchard enlisted into Company D, 27th Infantry Regiment, on 6 September 1861, in Trenton, Gibson County, Tennessee. He died on July 4, 1862.

Martha Jane married Henry W. COX, son of Jacint COX (1790-1855) & Winneford ? (1789-). Born in 1817 in North Carolina. Resided in North Division, Marshall County, Mississippi in 1850. Resided in Marshall County, Mississippi in 1860. Resided in 7th District, Carroll County, Tennessee in 1870. Resided in 7th District, Carroll County, Tennessee in 1880.

They had the following children:
i. Elizabeth A.. Born on 27 Oct 1837 in Tennessee. At the age of 39, Elizabeth A. died in Carroll County, Tennessee on 23 Oct 1877. Buried in Oct 1877 in Kee Cemetery, Clarksburg, 13th District, Carroll County, Tennessee. Resided in North Division, Marshall County, Mississippi in 1850.

On 24 Oct 1876 when Charles J. was 22, he married Jane KEE, daughter of Reverend James Henry KEE (1817-1879) & Sarah A. ? (1817-1860), in Carroll County, Tennessee. Born in 1854. Resided in 7th District, Carroll County, Tennessee in 1870.

18. Benjamin S. PRITCHARD. Born on 26 Feb 1835 in Tennessee. At the age of 75, Benjamin S. died in Carroll County, Tennessee on 1 Sep 1910. Buried in Sep 1910 in Pritchard Family Cemetery, Carroll County, Tennessee. Resided in District 13, Carroll County, Tennessee in 1850. Resided in District 10, Henderson County, Tennessee in 1860. Resided in District 8, Henderson County, Tennessee in 1870. Occupation: Farmer and stock dealer.

Benjamin S. Pritchard, farmer and stock dealer of the Thirteenth District, was born in Carroll County in 1835, and is one of a family of ten children, only three of whom are living: Martha J. (Mrs. Henry Cox), B. S. and Susan (Mrs. Thomas L. Key). The father of our subject, Charles Pritchard, was born in Anson County, N.C., in 1797, and his father, Jesse Pritchard, immigrated from North Carolina to Carroll County in 1834, where he passed the remainder of his days. In about 1817 Charles was married to Martha Williams, and in 1833 came to Carroll County, where he settled and engaged in farming. He died March 4, 1872, and at that time was the owner of 3,000 acres of land. The mother of Benjamin was also a native of North Carolina, born about 1800 and died in October, 1883. Our subject grew to manhood under the parental roof and received a common-school education. In February, 1860, he married Amanda Philips, and by this marriage had five children, two living: J. Homes and Sherad. After marriage Mr. Pritchard located in Henderson County, where he remained till 1882 and then removed to the farm on which he now resides. This consists of 323 acres of excellent land about three miles south of Clarksburg. He also owns 800 acres of land in other tracts, 325 of which is in Henderson County. He is one of the most extensive and enterprising farmers in the county. Mrs. Pritchard died January 7, 1874, and in November of the same year he married Lou Parker, who was born in Carroll County in 1833, and who is the daughter of J. C. and Elizabeth Parker. Previous to this, in April, 1864, Mr. Pritchard offered his services in defense of his country by enlisting under Capt. James Gooch and served under Gen. Forrest's command. He was at Harrisburg and Brice's Cross-roads, and returned home in August of the same year. He is a Democrat in politics; was formerly a Whig and cast his first vote for John Bell. He is a member of the I. O. O. F. and a liberal supporter of religion and charitable institutions.


Benjamin S. first married Amanda PHILLIPS, daughter of Benjamin PHILLIPS (1801-1886) & Barbara ? (1795-). Born on 22 Nov 1833 in Tennessee. At the age of 40, Amanda died on 7 Jan 1874. Buried in Jan 1874 in Pritchard Cemetery, Carroll County, Tennessee. Resided in District 10, Carroll County, Tennessee in 1860. Resided in District 10, Henderson County, Tennessee in 1860.

They had the following children:
i. Charles B.. Born in 1859. At the age of 1, Charles B. died in Carroll County, Tennessee on 16 Nov 1860. Buried in 1860 in Pritchard Family Cemetery, Carroll County, Tennessee.

Charles B. Pritchard died on November 16, 1860 at the age of one year, nine months, and 20 days old.

iii. J. Sebron. Born on 20 Sep 1866. At the age of 27, J. Sebron died on 21 Nov 1893. Buried in Nov 1893 in Pritchard Cemetery, Carroll County, Tennessee.

46 iv. John Sheard (1869-1913)
v. Infant. Born on 16 Jul 1872 in Carroll County, Tennessee. Infant died in Carroll County, Tennessee on 16 Jul 1872. Buried in 1872 in Pritchard Family Cemetery, Carroll County, Tennessee.


On 7 Nov 1874 when Benjamin S. was 39, he second married Louina A. PARKER, daughter of James C. PARKER (1811-1879) & Elizabeth B. CHAMBLISS (1809-1870), in Carroll County, Tennessee. Born on 22 Nov 1833. At the age of 69, Louina A. died on 19 Jul 1903. Buried in Jul 1903 in Parkers Crossroads Cemetery, Henderson County, Tennessee. Alias/AKA: "Suiny".

19. Morning Elizabeth PRITCHARD. Born in 1837 in Carroll County, Tennessee. Buried in Hebron Cemetery, Rosser, Carroll County, Tennessee. Resided in District 13, Carroll County, Tennessee in 1850. Resided in District 10, Carroll County, Tennessee in 1860. Resided in District 10, Carroll County, Tennessee in 1870.

Morning Pritchard Phillips was deceased by 1880.

On 11 Sep 1860 when Morning Elizabeth was 23, she married William PHILLIPS, son of Benjamin PHILLIPS (1801-1886) & Barbara ? (1795-), in Carroll County, Tennessee. Born in 1819 in North Carolina. Buried in Hebron Cemetery, Rosser, Carroll County, Tennessee. Resided in District 10, Carroll County, Tennessee in 1850. Resided in District 10, Carroll County, Tennessee in 1860. Resided in District 10, Carroll County, Tennessee in 1870. Resided in District 23, Carroll County, Tennessee in 1880.

They had the following children:
i. Amanda. Born in 1864 in Carroll County, Tennessee. Resided in District 23, Carroll County, Tennessee in 1880.

ii. Benjamin C.. Born in 1866 in Carroll County, Tennessee. Resided in District 10, Carroll County, Tennessee in 1870. Resided in District 23, Carroll County, Tennessee in 1880. Alias/AKA: "Charlie".

20. Susan E. PRITCHARD. Born on 28 Feb 1843 in Tennessee. At the age of 45, Susan E. died in Carroll County, Tennessee on 20 Apr 1888. Buried in Apr 1888 in Pritchard Family Cemetery, Carroll County, Tennessee. Resided in District 13, Carroll County, Tennessee in 1850. Resided in District 13, Carroll County, Tennessee in 1880. Resided in District 8, Henderson County, Tennessee in 1870.

On 13 Aug 1868 when Susan E. was 25, she married Thomas Laborn KEE, son of Charles KEE (1823-1917) & Mary Jane COX (1837-1899), in Carroll County, Tennessee. Born on 30 Jul 1851 in Carroll County, Tennessee. At the age of 76, Thomas Laborn died in Carroll County, Tennessee on 18 Jun 1928. Buried in Jun 1928 in Pritchard Family Cemetery, Carroll County, Tennessee. Resided in District 8, Henderson County, Tennessee in 1870. Resided in District 13, Carroll County, Tennessee in 1880.
