Obituary: Mrs. Lora Jane Pendergrass, 63, died at her home on the Buena Vista Road Monday at 2 a.m. following a lengthy illness. Funeral services were held Tuesday at 2 p. m. at the Huntingdon Church of Christ with B. F. Haynie and Hubert Dill officiating. Burial followed in Carroll Memorial Gardens with Dilday Funeral Home in charge. Pallbearers were Paul Sanders, Jimmie Hood, B. C. Hilliard, Loyd Milam, Wallace Milam and Clyde Milam. Mrs. Pendergrass was the daughter of R. F. and Maggie Hood Milam. She was a member of the Church of Christ. Survivors are her husband, Priest Pendergrass; three sons, Joe Pendergrass of Nashville, James Pendergrass of Huntsville, Ala., and Tommy Pendergrass of Huntingdon; seven grand children; her mother, Mrs. Fate Milam; five brothers, Rice Milam and Eldon Milam both of Yuma, Arthur Milam of Memphis, Ruse Milam of Florida and Jesse Ray Milam of California; and two sisters, Mrs. Daniel Kirby of Huntingdon and Mrs. Virgil Roberts of McKenzie. Mr. Pendergrass was a member of the Church of Christ. His parents were James and Martha Jane Rigsby Pendergrass. On 24 Jan 1926 when Lewis Augdon was 31, he married Edith Adell LAWS, daughter of John Sims LAWS (1878-1920) & Siddie Emily BRANDON (1883-1956). Born on 12 Jan 1905 in Carroll County, Tennessee. At the age of 93, Edith Adell died in Huntingdon, Carroll County, Tennessee on 19 Apr 1998. Buried in Apr 1998 in Sellers Hill Cemetery, Clarksburg, 13th District, Carroll County, Tennessee. Mr. Pendergrass, a retired carpenter died Sunday morning at Carroll County General Hospital in Huntingdon after a long illness. He was a Clarksburg native and a member of Clarksburg Church of Christ, serving as a deacon for more than 20 years. He was a charter member of Clarksburg Ruritan Club. Mr. Pendergrass was married in 1932 to the former Jessie Smith, who survives. Also surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Lottie Umstead of Columbia, Mrs. Ruthie Ozier of Florence, Alabama, and Mrs. Claudine Adams of Huntingdon; a sister, Mrs. Florence Brandon of Huntingdon; 10 grandchildren and two great grandchildren. In 1932 when Ava Clarence was 31, he married Jessie SMITH, daughter of Claudius Homer SMITH (1879-1954) & Ruth Lenora HOOD (1884-1971), in Carroll County, Tennessee. Born on 9 Sep 1905 in Carroll County, Tennessee. At the age of 78, Jessie died in Huntingdon, Carroll County, Tennessee on 15 Apr 1984. Buried in 1984 in Sellers Hill Cemetery, Clarksburg, 13th District, Carroll County, Tennessee. Occupation: Homemaker and lunchroom worker at Clarksburg School. Religion: Clarksburg Church of Christ, Clarksburg, 13th District, Carroll County, Tennessee. Obituary: Services for Mrs. Jessie Smith Pendergrass, 78 of Clarksburg were Thursday, April 19 at Clarksburg Church of Christ with Jesse Pinckley and Don Turnmire officiating. 62. Virgie PENDERGRASS. Born in 1904 in Carroll County, Tennessee. At the age of 38, Virgie died in Carroll County, Tennessee in 1942. Buried in 1942 in Sellers Hill Cemetery, Clarksburg, 13th District, Carroll County, Tennessee. On 15 Oct 1927 when Virgie was 23, she married Gurther Curtis ROARK, son of William Dewitt ROARK (1852-1927) & Sarah Parilee FISHER (1868-1945). Born on 18 Apr 1898 in Carroll County, Tennessee.
