Family of Howell OLIVE (5) & Ann LYON

6. Martha Jane OLIVE. Born on 26 Dec 1842 in Henderson County, Tennessee. At the age of 75, Martha Jane died in Madison County, Tennessee on 2 Oct 1918. Buried in 1918 in Brown Church Cemetery, Madison County, Tennessee. Religion: Spring Creek Cumberland Presbyterian Church.

On 3 Mar 1858 when Martha Jane was 15, she married John Solomon PEARSON, son of William PEARSON (1810-1878) & Eliza WILLIAMS (1811-1873). Born on 7 Sep 1833 in Anson County, North Carolina. At the age of 69, John Solomon died in Madison County, Tennessee on 18 Nov 1902. Buried in 1902 in Brown Church Cemetery, Madison County, Tennessee. Occupation: Farmer.

John S. Pearson is a native of the old North State, and was born in 1833 to the marriage of William and Eliza (Williams) Pearson. In 1834 his parents came to Henderson County, Tenn., and remained there until 1865, when he came to Madison County and lived there until his death, in 1878, his worthy wife preceding him five years. The parents were both natives of North Carolina and were farmers, and to them were born seven children, four of whom reached years of maturity. John S. spent his youth at work on 'the farm, and has made farming his occupation through life, and has been quite successful. In 1858 he married Martha. J. Olive, of Henderson County, daughter of Howell Olive. This lady was born in 1841 and has presented her husband with four sons and four daughters, one of the latter being deceased. In 1865 Mr. Pearson moved to Madison County, locating on his present farm, which lies in the eastern part of the county and consists of 400 acres of well improved land. Mr. Pearson and wife are useful citizens, kind neighbors, and are members of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church. Mr. Pearson is a stanch Democrat.

The 1860 8th District, Henderson County, Tennessee, slave schedule reported that John Solomon Pearson owned five slaves.

iv. Mary Ida. Born in 1866.

v. Dudley H.. Born in 1868.

vi. Martha Elizabeth. Born on 9 Jul 1871. Martha Elizabeth died on 21 Jul 1871.

vii. Seden Clinton. Born in 1873.

viii. Neely E.. Born in 1877.


7. James G. OLIVE. Born in 1844 in Tennessee. Resided in Henderson County, Tennessee in 1880.

On 13 Sep 1866 when James G. was 22, he married Tabitha Elizabeth FLAKE, daughter of Dudley L. FLAKE (1815-1863) & Cynthia Anne HOWARD (1822-1872), in Carroll County, Tennessee. Born on 18 Apr 1847 in Henderson County, Tennessee. At the age of 71, Tabitha Elizabeth died in Kenna, Chavez County, New Mexico on 12 Jul 1918. Buried in 1918 in Kenna, Chavez County, New Mexico. Resided in Henderson County, Tennessee in 1880. Alias/AKA: "Bettie".

They had the following children:

8. Miles Turner OLIVE. Born on 17 Sep 1851 in Henderson County, Tennessee. At the age of 48, Miles Turner died in New Boston, Bowie County, Texas on 5 Apr 1900.

On 20 Sep 1873 when Miles Turner was 22, he married Susan Melvina ROSSER, daughter of William H. ROSSER (1813-1856) & Mary Jane PARKER (1824-1891), in Carroll County, Tennessee. Born on 13 Dec 1855 in Carroll County, Tennessee. At the age of 75, Susan Melvina died in Wilbarger County, Texas on 27 Dec 1930.

Lived in the household of her mother, Mary J. Parker Rosser, and uncle Atlas Rosser, during the 1870 Census.

They had the following children:
i. Mary Jo. Born on 30 Jul 1874.

ii. Tony Sam. Born on 11 Jan 1876.

iii. Martha Jane. Born on 11 Dec 1877.

iv. William H.. Born on 11 Jan 1880.

v. Claborn Oscar. Born on 11 Dec 1881.

21 vi. Connie Elmer (1898-1962)

9. Frances F. OLIVE. Born in 1855 in Tennessee. At the age of 17, Frances F. died on 11 Nov 1872.

Frances F. married Thomas Green WALL, son of John H. WALL (1811-1901) & Tabitha Talley THOMAS (1811-1883). Born in 1849 in Carroll County, Tennessee. At the age of 81, Thomas Green died in Carroll County, Tennessee on 8 Apr 1930. Buried in Apr 1930 in Wall Cemetery, Clarksburg, 13th District, Carroll County, Tennessee. Resided in 13th District, Carroll County, Tennessee in 1850. Resided in 14th District, Carroll County, Tennessee in 1930.

They had one child:
22 i. Johnny Howell (1873-1957)
