Family of Columbus William MEALS (6) & Sallie BOBBIT

21. Ida Mae MEALS. Born in 1878. At the age of 102, Ida Mae died in 1980. Buried in 1980 in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Henderson County, Tennessee.

Ida Mae married John Henry PATTON Senior, son of David Christopher PATTON (1852-1939) & Rebecca Ann LAWS (1844-1935). Born on 13 Apr 1875. At the age of 59, John Henry died in Henderson County, Tennessee on 5 Apr 1935. Buried in 1935 in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Henderson County, Tennessee.

Obituary: John Henry Patton, son of David L. and the late Mrs. Rebecca Laws Patton, was born April 13th, 1875, and died April 5th, 1935, in the home of his wife's mother, near Bargerton. He was married in early manhood to Miss Ida, daughter of the late Columbus Meals, and the following children were born to this union: Mrs. Essie Boyer, James, Henry, Jr., Miss Pauline and William Patton. He is also survived by his aged father and one brother, James Patton, a resident of Oklahoma; two sisters, Mrs. J.S. (Lillie) Wilson and Mrs. R.L. Douglas. Henry Patton was one of those big-hearted boys and men whom one could not help liking, and he had many friends in Lexington, having lived here. Rev. J.R. Page conducted the service in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, assisted by Rev. W.S. Simms.

They had the following children:

Essie married BOYER.
