46. J.W. LIFSEY. Born on 9 Dec 1916 in Carroll County, Tennessee. At the age of 87, J.W. died in Terry, Carroll County, Tennessee on 28 Jun 2004. Buried on 30 Jun 2004 in Obion Chapel Cemetery, Carroll County, Tennessee. Resided in Cedar Grove, Carroll County, Tennessee in 2001.

Obituary: CEDAR GROVE: Mr. J.W. Lifsey, 87, passed away on Monday, June 28 at his home. Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, June 20 at 1:00 p.m. at the Obion Chapel Church of Christ with Bro. Earnest Pounds officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends in the Oak Wood Room of Chase Funeral Home after 4:00 p.m. Tuesday and from 8:00 a.m. until time for departure for the church on Wednesday. Mr. Lifsey was born December 9, 1916 in Carroll County to the late Carl and Effie Pritchard Lifsey. He was a farmer and a member of the Obion Chapel Church of Christ. He was preceded in death by one son, Joseph Eugene “Rusty” Lifsey and one grandson, Kevin Rogers. Survivors include eight daughters, Patsy Frazee of Conyers, Georgia, Sue Butler of Huntingdon, Diane Rogers of Cedar Grove, Vicky Vaden of Bells, June Gray of Trezevant, Lisa Jones of Cedar Grove, Kim Simpson of Cedar Grove; and Betty Cooper of Atwood; two sons, Jim Lifsey of Woodlawn and Steve Lifsey of Cedar Grove; one sister, Jewel Robinson of Atwood; one brother, Mauree Lifsey of Fort Wayne, Indiana; 17 grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren and four step-great-grandchildren.


On 4 Sep 1946 when J.W. was 29, he married Dolly MILLER. They were divorced.

Teresa Sue married Bobby Eugene BUTLER, son of Teddie Hobson BUTLER (1898-1969) & Ellie Eulene WARBRITTON (1904-1989).

ix. Lisa Kay. Born on 5 Jan 1965. Resided in Cedar Grove, Carroll County, Tennessee in Jun 2002. Resided in Cedar Grove, Tennessee in Jun 2004.

Lisa Kay married Lewis Ray JONES, son of Henry Webb JONES (1921-1986) & Billie Vivian CHASTAIN (1922-). Born on 7 Jul 1961 in Trezevant, Carroll County, Tennessee.

x. Kimberly Dawn. Born on 19 May 1968. Resided in Bradford, Gibson County, Tennessee in Jun 2002. Resided in Cedar Grove, Tennessee in Jun 2004. Alias/AKA: "Kim".

Kimberly Dawn married Donnie SIMPSON.

xi. Betty Lou. Born on 2 Jan 1970. Resided in Trezevant, Carroll County, Tennessee in May 2002. Resided in Atwood, Carroll County, Tennessee in Jun 2004.

47. Isaac Mauree LIFSEY. Born on 18 May 1919 in Carroll County, Tennessee. Resided in Fort Wayne, Indiana in Jun 2004. Resided in Fort Wayne, Indiana in Aug 2004.

On 30 Mar 1940 when Isaac Mauree was 20, he married Mattie Emily GREGG, daughter of Jamie GREGG & Sudie McCASLIN, in Carroll County, Tennessee. Born on 17 Jan 1915 in Cedar Grove, Carroll County, Tennessee. At the age of 89, Mattie Emily died in Ft. Wayne, Indiana on 16 Aug 2004. Buried on 20 Aug 2004 in Covington Memorial Gardens, Fort Wayne, Indiana.

Obituary: Mrs. Mattie Emily Lifsey, 89, died Monday, August 16, at her home in Ft. Wayne, Indiana after a long illness. She was born in Cedar Grove, the daughter of the late Mr. Jamie and Mrs. Sudie “McCaslin” Gregg. She spent most of her life as a homemaker. She worked several years at Terry and Westview Schools lunch rooms and then several years at HIS in Bruceton before the family relocated to Indiana thirty-six years ago. She was a member of East Allen County Church of Christ in New Haven. She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Isaac Mauree Lifsey of Ft. Wayne; one son, Richard Lifsey of Ft. Wayne; one daughter, Linda Golden (Don) of Belton, S.C.; two grandsons, Perry Lifsey and Jamie Lifsey and three great grandchildren. She also leaves many relatives and friends here in Carroll and surrounding areas who will miss her. She was preceded in death by one grandson, Dean Lifsey. Funeral services were on Friday, August 20, at 11:00 a.m. at Covington Memorial Funeral Home and interment followed in Covington Memorial Gardens in Ft. Wayne.

i. Linda Joyce. Born on 25 Jul 1943. Resided in Belton, South Carolina in Aug 2004.

On 30 Mar 1984 when Linda Joyce was 40, she married Donnie Ray GOLDEN, in Indianapolis, Indiana.

48. Frances Jewell LIFSEY. Born on 28 Jan 1924 in Carroll County, Tennessee. Resided in Atwood, Carroll County, Tennessee in Jun 2004.

On 6 Jan 1945 when Frances Jewell was 20, she married Leonard Ray MILLER.
