Family of Ada LEWIS (16) & John Warren RINGOLD Senior

34. Vester W. RINGOLD. Born on 23 Aug 1898 in Henderson County, Tennessee. At the age of 83, Vester W. died in Carroll County, Tennessee in Aug 1982. Resided in District 17, Henderson County, Tennessee in 1900.

On 29 Oct 1924 when Vester W. was 26, he married Lora Ada WILSON, daughter of Lewis A. WILSON (1874-1976) & Rosa Lee JOHNSON, in Carroll County, Tennessee. Born on 20 Feb 1905 in Carroll County, Tennessee. At the age of 97, Lora Ada died in Bruceton, Carroll County, Tennessee on 8 Jun 2002. Buried on 11 Jun 2002 in Blair Cemetery, Clarksburg, 13th District, Carroll County, Tennessee.

Obituary: Services for Lora Ada Ringold, 97, will be at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, June 11, 2002 at Clarksburg Church of Christ with burial in Blair Cemetery in Clarksburg, TN. Ms. Ringold, former Publix Shirt Factory employee, died Saturday at Life Care Center in Bruceton, TN. Survivors: son, Billy Ringold of Clarksburg, TN.

Obituary: Mrs. Lora Ada Ringold, 97, died Saturday, June 8 at the Life Care Center in Bruceton. Funeral services were conducted on Tuesday, June 11 at the Clarksburg Church of Christ with Brother Bill Crossno and Brother Martin Klamm officiating. Interment followed in the Blair Cemetery. Mrs. Ringold was born February 20, 1905 in Carroll County to the late L.A. and Rosie Johnson Wilson. She was a retired employee of Publix Shirt Corp. and a member of the Clarksburg Church of Christ. Her husband, Vester W. Ringold, who passed away in 1982; a brother, Carlin Wilson and a sister, Jessie Flake, preceded her in death. Survivors include a son, Billy Ringold of Clarksburg; three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Dilday Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Billy and Ruth Ringold of Clarksburg, and grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Billy and Geunita Ringold and children, Brittany and Billy Johnson Ringold, II, of Chattanooga, and Nona and Larry Hall and sons, Luke, Jake and Ben, of Smyrna, and Tony Ringold of Blacksburg, Virginia. She also leaves several devoted nieces and nephews.


They had one child:
i. Billy. Resided in Clarksburg, 13th District, Carroll County, Tennessee in Jun 2002.


35. James M. RINGOLD Senior. Born in 1902. At the age of 90, James M. died in 1992.

James M. married Ruby Sarah SCOTT, daughter of Erman Oscar SCOTT (1883-1967) & Sethie FRENCH (1881-1966). Born on 8 Jan 1909 in Carroll County, Tennessee. At the age of 91, Ruby Sarah died in Jackson, Madison County, Tennessee on 10 Feb 2000.

They had the following children:
i. James.

James married Betty Jo ?.

ii. Robert Benjamin.

Robert Benjamin married Pat ?.


36. Beulah RINGOLD. Born on 29 Dec 1902. At the age of 29, Beulah died in Carroll County, Tennessee on 6 Feb 1932. Buried in Sellers Hill Cemetery, Clarksburg, 13th District, Carroll County, Tennessee.

On 5 Nov 1922 when Beulah was 19, she married Alvis Homer TOSH, son of Howard Alvis TOSH (1867-1952) & Rebecca Jane SCOTT (1871-1951), in Carroll County, Tennessee. Born on 11 Apr 1898 in Carroll County, Tennessee. At the age of 83, Alvis Homer died in Carroll County, Tennessee on 4 Feb 1982. Buried in Sellers Hill Cemetery, Clarksburg, 13th District, Carroll County, Tennessee. Alias/AKA: "Homer".

They had the following children:
i. Robert Warren. Born on 17 Jan 1927. Robert Warren died in Carroll County, Tennessee on 5 Apr 1927. Buried in Sellers Hill Cemetery, Clarksburg, 13th District, Carroll County, Tennessee.

37. Luther Martin RINGOLD. Born in 1905. At the age of 56, Luther Martin died on 4 Jan 1961. Buried in Jan 1961 in Palmer Shelter Cemetery, Huntingdon, Carroll County, Tennessee.

On 1 Jun 1931 when Luther Martin was 26, he married Gracie Mae WILKES, in Carroll County, Tennessee. Born in 1912. At the age of 61, Gracie Mae died on 1 Jan 1973. Buried in Jan 1973 in Palmer Shelter Cemetery, Huntingdon, Carroll County, Tennessee.

38. John Warren RINGOLD Junior. Born in 1907. At the age of 33, John Warren died in 1940. Buried in 1940 in Blair Cemetery, Clarksburg, 13th District, Carroll County, Tennessee.

In 1930 when John Warren was 23, he married Ruth Ella BELEW, daughter of Joseph Edward BELEW (1892-1969) & Ruth TUCKER (1895-1948), in Carroll County, Tennessee. Born on 13 Oct 1912 in Carroll County, Tennessee. At the age of 73, Ruth Ella died on 30 Jul 1986. Buried in Jul 1986 in Blair Cemetery, Clarksburg, 13th District, Carroll County, Tennessee. Resided in District 13, Carroll County, Tennessee in 1930.

39. Alton H. RINGOLD. Born in 1909. At the age of 49, Alton H. died in Carroll County, Tennessee in 1958. Buried in 1958 in Sellers Hill Cemetery, Clarksburg, 13th District, Carroll County, Tennessee.

In 1945 when Alton H. was 36, he married Verlie Vernell HATCH, daughter of Sidney J. HATCH (1879-1973) & Josie A. KIRKSEY (1888-1945), in Carroll County, Tennessee. Born in 1917.

They had one child:

40. Effie Elizabeth RINGOLD. Born on 4 Nov 1912 in Carroll County, Tennessee. At the age of 89, Effie Elizabeth died in Jackson, Madison County, Tennessee on 13 Sep 2002. Buried on 15 Sep 2002 in Sellers Hill Cemetery, Clarksburg, 13th District, Carroll County, Tennessee.

Obituary: Effie Elizabeth Miller, 89, of Huntingdon, died Friday, September 13, at the Jackson-Madison County General Hospital. Services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, September 15, in the Chase Funeral Home Chapel. Bro. Fred Ward and Bro. Phillip Halter officiated. Burial followed in the Seller Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers who served were her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mrs. Miller, the daughter of the late John Warren Ringold and Ada Lewis Ringold, was born November 4, 1912, in Carroll County. She was a member of the Sandy Point General Baptist Church and retired as the owner of Miller Supermarket. She was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Albert E. Miller. She was also preceded in death by five brothers, Vester Ringold, John Ringold, Jim Ringold, Luther Ringold and Alton Ringold; and a sister, Beulah Tosh. She is survived by a daughter, Dorothy (J.D.) Moody of Huntingdon; two sons, Jimmie (Martha Jean) Miller and Harold Ray (Barbara) Miller, both of Huntingdon; six grandchildren, Mike Miller of Smyrna, Larry Miller, Greg Boyd and Collin Miller, all of Huntingdon, Gina Bartlett of Hornbeak and Gary Miller of Jackson; two step-grandchildren, Teresa Loyd of Huntingdon and Jeff Moody of Blytheville, Arkansas; five great-grandchildren, Amanda Miller and Adam Miller, both of Smyrna, Ashley Boyd and Nick Boyd, both of Huntingdon, and Halie Miller of Jackson; two step-great-grandchildren, Garrett Moody and Timothy Moody, both of Blytheville, Arkansas.



Effie Elizabeth married Albert E. MILLER, son of Charles MILLER (1860-) & Lonnie HOLLOWELL (1877-). Born on 14 May 1916 in Carroll County, Tennessee. At the age of 84, Albert E. died in Huntingdon, Carroll County, Tennessee on 15 Oct 2000. Buried in Oct 2000 in Sellers Hill Cemetery, Clarksburg, 13th District, Carroll County, Tennessee.

Obituary: Funeral services for Albert E. Miller were held on Sunday, October 15, at the chapel of Dilday Funeral Home. The Rev. Robert Martin and Rev. George Sellers officiated. Burial followed in the Sellers Hill Cemetery. Mr. Miller died Friday morning, October 13, at his residence. He was born May 14, 1916, the son of the late Charles and Lonnie Hollowell Miller. He was raised and educated in Carroll County. Mr. Miller was the retired owner of Miller's Supermarket and was an ordained minister of the General Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Deamons Miller and Arlie Miller; and three sisters, Gray Miller, Lola Smothers and Lorence Cunningham. He leaves to cherish his memory a loving wife of 67 years, Effie Ringold Miller, two sons, Jimmy Miller and wife, Jean, and Harold Miller and wife, Barbara; a daughter, Dorothy Moody and husband, J.D.; eight grandchildren, Mike Miller, Larry Miller and wife, Amanda, Gina Bartlett and husband, Jonathan, Gary R. Miller and wife, Cindy, Collin Miller, Greg Boyd and wife Selina, Jeff Moody and wife, Tina, Teresa Loyd and husband, David; seven great-grandchildren; Amanda Miller, Adam Miller, Halie Miller, Ashley Boyd, Nick Boyd, Garrett Moody, and Timmy Moody; a sister, Luna Williams of Huntingdon; and a host of nieces and nephews. His grandchildren served as pallbearers.

They had the following children:
i. Jimmy.

Jimmy married Martha Jean ?.

ii. Harold Ray.

Harold Ray married Barbara ?.
