1. William Matthew LEWIS Senior. Born in 1812 in North Carolina. At the age of 43, William Matthew died in Henry County, Tennessee in 1855. Resided in District 9, Henderson County, Tennessee in 1850. Alias/AKA: "Mack".

William Matthew married Joyce Ann GRIGGS, daughter of William GRIGGS (1785-) & Eliza BINGHAM (1795-). Born in 1814 in Hancock County, Georgia. At the age of 51, Joyce Ann died in Tennessee in 1865. Resided in District 9, Henderson County, Tennessee in 1850. Alias/AKA: "Josie".

They had the following children:
i. Mary Ann. Born in Apr 1834 in Henderson County, Tennessee. Resided in District 9, Henderson County, Tennessee in 1850. Resided in District 9, Henderson County, Tennessee in 1860. Resided in District 9, Henderson County, Tennessee in 1880.

ii. Sarah Elizabeth. Born in 1836 in Tennessee. Resided in District 9, Henderson County, Tennessee in 1850. Resided in District 9, Henderson County, Tennessee in 1860.

iii. Emiline F.. Born in 1837 in Tennessee. Resided in District 9, Henderson County, Tennessee in 1850. Resided in District 9, Henderson County, Tennessee in 1860.

v. Weathy. Born in 1841 in Tennessee. Resided in District 9, Henderson County, Tennessee in 1850. Buried in 1860 in District 9, Henderson County, Tennessee.
