Research: Friday, April 19, 1912: The same week that nearly 2000 unfortunate souls lost their lives in the sinking of the Titanic, one Carroll County resident was having better luck. Jim Kee was reported as finding 41 silver half dollars buried on his property while digging post holes. Since all the coins dated from 1844 to 1861, Kee speculated that they were hidden sometime during the Civil War. He added that he planned to a lot more digging when he found the time. That same week, prominent Clarksburg resident Mrs. Bass Graves passed away at the age of 35. In 1892 when James Henry was 24, he first married Josie Hix PETTY, daughter of Henderson Carroll PETTY (1832-1914) & Nancy Ann Hannah WILLIAMS (1844-1914). Born in 1868. At the age of 49, Josie Hix died in 1917. Buried in 1917 in Blair Cemetery, Clarksburg, Carroll County, Tennessee. They had the following children:
James Henry second married Melissa JOHNSON. 75. Josie Florence KEE. Born on 28 Sep 1872 in Caroll County, Tennessee. At the age of 71, Josie Florence died in Henderson County, Tennessee in Oct 1943. Buried in 1943 in Jones Cemetery, Wildersville, Henderson County, Tennessee. Obituary: Goes to Her Reward: Rev. W.A. Moody of Parsons conducted the funeral services for Mrs. John H. (Josie) Olive at the Wildersville Baptist Church October 15th, 1943. One of the largest crowds ever to gather in Wildersville was present to hear the final tributes of respect paid to the life of this good woman. Mrs. Olive died about noon on the preceding Wednesday at her home near Strayleaf ten miles north of Lexington. Mrs. Olive was the daughter of the late Mart L. and Susan Cox Kee, and was born in Carroll County September 28, 1872, being at the time of her death 71 years old. On February 25, 1892, she was married to John H. Olive, and to this union seven children were born. Three of them preceded her to the grave. The four children surviving are Mrs. L.A. (Vernon) Walker of Williamsport, Tennessee, Mrs. A.R. (Jessie) Herndon of Paducah, Kentucky, J.Bailey Olive of Parker's Crossroads, and Mart H. Olive, who with his family, has lived in the home of his parents for several years. Surviving also are two brothers, James Kee of Clarksburg, and Emmett W. Kee of Dexter, Missouri; a step-mother, Mrs. Mart L. Kee, and a half sister, Mrs. T.T. Yancy, of Ravenna, Kentucky. Following the services at the church, her body was conveyed to the Jones Cemetery at Wildersville were burial was made. On 25 Feb 1892 when Josie Florence was 19, she married John H. OLIVE, son of Howell OLIVE (1814-1888) & Martha Jane STANFORD (1831-), in Carroll County, Tennessee. Born on 16 Aug 1868. At the age of 76, John H. died in Wildersville, Henderson County, Tennessee on 14 Mar 1945. Buried in 1945 in Jones Cemetery, Wildersville, Henderson County, Tennessee. Resided in 8th District, Henderson County, Tennessee in 1880. Obituary: Dies Near Wildersville: John H. Olive, son of Howell and Martha Olive, was born August 16, 1868, and died March 14, 1945, aged 76 years. He was married to Josie Florence Kee February 19, 1892, and to this union seven children were born, three dying several years ago. His wife died about a year ago. Surviving children are Bailey of Crossroads; Mrs. Lester Walker of Williamsport, Tennessee; Mrs. Ray Herndon of Paducah, Kentucky, and Mart, who has always lived with his father. He is survived by eight grandchildren. One grandson, Achlee, is in the Armed Forces. One brother, Bob Olive, lives at Rock Springs. Largely attended funeral services were held in the Baptist Church at Wildersville with burial in Jones Cemetery, Rev. Walter Moody officiating. They had the following children:
76. Charles M. KEE. Born on 13 Jan 1878. At the age of 29, Charles M. died on 24 Dec 1907. Buried in 1907 in Kee Cemetery, Clarksburg, Carroll County, Tennessee. Occupation: Dry Goods Merchant. Moved to Greenfield, Weakley County, Tennessee. On 5 Nov 1900 when Charles M. was 22, he married Madge WILLIAMS, daughter of Samuel W. WILLIAMS (1839-1884) & Susan Angeline TUCKER (1851-1923), in Carroll County, Tennessee. Born on 3 Dec 1877. At the age of 75, Madge died in 1953. Religion: Member of Williams Chapel Church of Christ, Clarksburg, Carroll County, Tennessee. They had one child:
77. Emma KEE. Born on 16 Mar 1883 in Tennessee. At the age of 33, Emma died in Kenna, Chavez County, New Mexico in 1917. Buried in 1917 in Kenna, New Mexico. On 23 Dec 1903 when Emma was 20, she married James W. OLIVE, son of James G. OLIVE (1844-) & Tabitha Elizabeth FLAKE (1847-1918), in Carroll County, Tennessee. Born on 4 Oct 1867 in Tennessee. At the age of 80, James W. died in Salinas, Monterey County, California on 13 Nov 1947. They had the following children:
78. Emmett Wilder KEE. Born on 16 Mar 1883. At the age of 84, Emmett Wilder died in Dexter, Stoddard County, Missouri on 26 Jul 1967. Buried in 1967 in Dexter Cemetery, Dexter, Missouri. Resided in Dexter, Missouri in 1943. Emmett Wilder married Amy Edith WRIGHT. Born on 25 Nov 1893. At the age of 73, Amy Edith died in Dexter, Stoddard County, Missouri on 8 Jan 1967. Buried in Jan 1967 in Dexter Cemetery, Dexter, Missouri. They had the following children:
