795. Ramelle CROSS. Born on 9 Jan 1913 in Westport, Carroll County, Tennessee. At the age of 89, Ramelle died in Huntingdon, Carroll County, Tennessee on 13 Oct 2002. Buried on 16 Oct 2002 in Carroll County Memorial Gardens, Carroll County, Tennessee.

Obituary: Mrs. Ramelle Cross Darnall, 89, of Huntingdon, Tennessee died Sunday, October 13, 2002 at the Baptist Memorial Hospital in Huntingdon. Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, October 16, 2002 at 3:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Dilday Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Carroll Memorial Gardens. Brother Bill Goodpasture will officiate the services. Mrs. Darnall was born January 9, 1913 in Westport, Tennessee to the late Daniel Forrest and Mary Steele Cross. She was a retired schoolteacher for the Huntingdon Special School District and a member of the Huntingdon Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wallace William Darnall, who passed away on October 1, 1972; three brothers, Landrum Cross, Harold Norman Cross and Edward Cross and one sister, Virginia Cross. She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-laws, Linda (James) Marrison of Huntingdon, Tennessee and Mary Belle (Robert ) Pitts of Knoxville, Tennessee; one brother, Alton Cross of Westport, Tennessee; two sisters, Margaret Cloud of Nashville, Tennessee and Rose Helen McKnight of Berea, Kentucky. She also leaves three grandchildren, William Marrison, Andrew Pitts and Megan Pitts and one great granddaughter, Ashley Marrison. Pallbearers will be Richard Cross, Norman Cross, John Cross, Mike McKnight, Steve McKnight and Bobby Cloud. The family will receive friends on Tuesday in the Chapel of Dilday Funeral Home after 4:00 p.m. and on Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. until time of services.



Ramelle married Wallace William DARNALL Junior, son of Wallace William DARNALL Senior & Sarah Pearle CARTER. Wallace William died on 1 Oct 1972.

They had the following children:

Harold Norman CROSS. Born on 24 Oct 1926. At the age of 52, Harold Norman died on 11 Mar 1979. Buried in Mar 1979 in Lexington Cemetery, Lexington, Henderson County, Tennessee. Resided in Lexington, Henderson County, Tennessee. Occupation: Owner of Cross Dry Cleaners, Lexington, Henderson County, Tennessee.

Harold Norman married Georgia Mable LEWIS, daughter of Ezra Kerr LEWIS (1894-1961) & Trula Mable PETTY (1897-1962). Born in 1925 in Westport, Carroll County, Tennessee.
