23. Nathaniel TATE. Born on 30 Jun 1838 in Tennessee. At the age of 46, Nathaniel died on 24 Jan 1885. Buried in 1885 in Palestine Cemetery, Carroll County, Tennessee. Resided in 7th District, Carroll County, Tennessee in 1850. Resided in 7th District, Carroll County, Tennessee in 1880. Occupation: School Teacher.

Nathaniel first married Martha A. DAVIS. Born about 1843. At the age of 17, Martha A. died in Carroll County, Tennessee in Aug 1860. Cause of death: Congestive Fever.

They had one child:
i. Louisiana. Born in Jun 1860. Louisiana died in Carroll County, Tennessee in Aug 1860.


Nathaniel second married Mary Jane NORTON. Born in 1840. At the age of 30, Mary Jane died on 18 Aug 1870. Buried in 1870 in Palestine Cemetery, Carroll County, Tennessee.

They had the following children:
i. Sarah Frances. Born on 2 Feb 1868. At the age of 65, Sarah Frances died on 9 May 1933. Buried in 1933 in Palestine Cemetery, Carroll County, Tennessee. Resided in 7th District, Carroll County, Tennessee in 1880. Alias/AKA: "Sallie".

ii. Matilda. Born on 28 Oct 1869. At the age of 60, Matilda died on 13 Nov 1929. Buried in 1929 in Palestine Cemetery, Carroll County, Tennessee. Resided in 7th District, Carroll County, Tennessee in 1880.

Obituary: On Wednesday morning, November 13th, 1929, at one o'clock, another soul took flight, that of Miss Matilda Tate, age 60 years and 15 days. She was converted eleven years ago and united with the Methodist Church at Palestine and has lived a consistent member ever since. She is survived by one sister, Sallie Tate, and many relatives and friends.-- Virgie Johnson


On 4 Jul 1878 when Nathaniel was 40, he third married Louisa E. COLLINS, daughter of John Nelson COLLINS (1830-1912) & Sarah Agnes LETSINGER (1834-1924), in Carroll County, Tennessee. Born in 1855. At the age of 24, Louisa E. died in 1879. Buried in 1879 in Palestine Cemetery, Carroll County, Tennessee.

Louisa E. Collins died six months after her marriage to Nathaniel Tate.

24. Perizet Elizabeth TATE. Born on 7 Aug 1840 in Carroll County, Tennessee. At the age of 90, Perizet Elizabeth died on 12 Apr 1931. Resided in 7th District, Carroll County, Tennessee in 1850. Religion: New Liberty Baptist Church, Carroll County, Tennessee.

On 8 Jan 1861 when Perizet Elizabeth was 20, she married James Hackney DAVIS, son of Charlie DAVIS & Nancy CEARLEY, in Carroll County, Tennessee. Born on 24 Feb 1839. At the age of 81, James Hackney died on 5 Jul 1920. Buried in Jul 1920 in Jones Cemetery, Parkers Crossroads Cemetery, Parkers Crossroads, Henderson County, Tennessee. Resided in 8th District, Henderson County, Tennessee in 1880.

They had the following children:
i. Mollie. Born on 2 Nov 1864 in Henderson County, Tennessee. At the age of 21, Mollie died in Texas on 6 Feb 1886.

iii. William Henry. Born on 11 Apr 1869 in Henderson County, Tennessee. At the age of 85, William Henry died in Henderson County, Tennessee on 28 Oct 1954. Buried in 1954 in Jones Cemetery, Parkers Crossroads Cemetery, Parkers Crossroads, Henderson County, Tennessee.

Never married.

iv. John K.. Born on 26 Oct 1871 in Henderson County, Tennessee. At the age of 73, John K. died on 14 Nov 1944. Buried in 1944 in Jones Cemetery, Parkers Crossroads Cemetery, Parkers Crossroads, Henderson County, Tennessee.

Never married.

v. Joseph J.. Born on 30 Mar 1873 in Henderson County, Tennessee. At the age of 69, Joseph J. died on 5 Sep 1942. Buried in 1942 in Jones Cemetery, Parkers Crossroads Cemetery, Parkers Crossroads, Henderson County, Tennessee.

Never married.

89 vi. James Jahue (1875-1937)
vii. Daughter. Born in May 1876. Daughter died in Nov 1876.
