52. Virgil SCOTT. Born on 15 Nov 1910. At the age of 63, Virgil died on 11 Jul 1974.

Virgil married Bessie Mae BAUMGARDNER, daughter of Berry BAUMGARDNER (1879-) & Elsie BURNS (1882-). Born on 2 May 1914 in Carroll County, Tennessee. At the age of 81, Bessie Mae died on 26 Mar 1996.

They had the following children:
i. Joyce.

ii. Halbert.

iii. Dan.


53. James Clayton SCOTT. Born on 17 Sep 1914. At the age of 82, James Clayton died on 24 Apr 1997.

Children:
i. Teresa.

ii. Barbara.

iii. Jimmy.


54. Margaret Jane SCOTT. Born on 17 Nov 1916 in Clarksburg, Carroll County, Tennessee. At the age of 85, Margaret Jane died in McKenzie, Carroll County, Tennessee on 25 Mar 2002. Buried on 27 Mar 2002 in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, McKenzie, Carroll County, Tennessee. Resided in McKenzie, Carroll County, Tennessee in 1999.

Obituary: Services for Margaret Jane "Mama Jane" Higdon, 85, will be at 2:00 PM Wednesday, March 27, 2002 at McKenzie Church of Christ with Bro. Jim Roberts and Bro. Kenneth Edwards officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, McKenzie, TN. Brummitt Funeral Home, McKenzie, TN in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Higdon, Retired from Brown Shoe Co., died Monday Morning, March 25, 2002 at Methodist Hospital, McKenzie. She was born November 17, 1916 in Clarksburg, TN. She was a member of the McKenzie Church of Christ. Survivors include daughters, Sue Patton of Valrico, FL, Velta Flippin, Shelba McCaslin, Linda Reed, Lodie Hudson, Jodie Baker and Sherry Epperson, all of McKenzie, TN; sons, Richard Wall of Sommerville, TN, Donald Higdon of McKenzie, TN, and Terry Higdon of Camden, TN; sister, Frances Nell Forrest of Huntingdon, TN; brothers, Charlie Scott and Cecil Scott, both of Trezevant, TN; seventeen grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Elton Higdon, mother and father Sudie Hood Scott & Luther Scott; sister, Gracie Frazee and brothers, Onnie Scott, Virgil Scott and Walter D. Scott.



Margaret Jane first married Vernice WALL, son of Luther WALL (1883-1943) & Elizabeth PENDERGRASS (1882-1914). Born on 25 Mar 1910. At the age of 77, Vernice died in 7th Civil District, Carroll County, Tennessee on 29 Dec 1987. Buried in 1987 in Lexington Cemetery, Henderson County, Tennessee.

They had the following children:

105 ii. Melba Sue (1935-)

Margaret Jane second married James Elton HIGDON, son of Thomas Emerson HIGDON & Johnnie ?. Born on 14 Aug 1914. At the age of 61, James Elton died on 7 Jan 1976.

They had the following children:

108 iii. Donald Ray (1948-)
109 iv. Linda Faye (1950-)
110 v. Lorene (1951-)
vi. Jorene. Born on 23 Jun 1951.

On 2 Sep 1972 when Jorene was 21, she married Robert ORR.

111 vii. Sherry Gail (1954-)
viii. Terry Dwayne. Born on 17 Mar 1956.

On 18 Aug 1984 when Terry Dwayne was 28, he married Brenda SEATON.


55. Walter D. SCOTT. Born on 5 May 1925. At the age of 43, Walter D. died on 22 Aug 1968. Buried in Aug 1968 in Christian Chapel Cemetery, Leach, Carroll County, Tennessee.

On 23 Jul 1949 when Walter D. was 24, he married Dorothy Louise SPICER, daughter of John Solomon SPICER & Bueler ?. Born on 2 Oct 1934. At the age of 33, Dorothy Louise died on 22 Aug 1968. Buried in Aug 1968 in Christian Chapel Cemetery, Leach, Carroll County, Tennessee.

They had the following children:
