On 11 Oct 1901 when Dora Fredonia was 28, she married John Horton DUNAGAN, son of Allen DUNAGAN & Elizabeth KING. Born in 1861 in Harrison County, Missouri. At the age of 58, John Horton died in Memphis, Shelby County, Tennessee on 1 Mar 1919. Based on when his mother died and when she would have been married, John had to be born between January 1861 and November 1, 1861. On the 1880 Harrison County, Missouri Census, John was living in the household of his Uncle Elijah, brother of Allen Russell. On 5 January 1893, John married Fannie Horn in Carroll County, Tennessee. They had three children: Arzrow George Washington Dunagan - born 1895; Adolphus R. Dunagan - born 1897; and Margaret "Hessie" Dunagan - born 1894. John and these children were residents of Carroll County, Tennessee at the time of 1900 census. According to the obituary from the Ridgeway Journal dated September 12, 1912, column 1, page 1, John H. Dunagan "went west early in life." At the time of his father, Allen Russell's death, John had not been in contact with his parents since he left home and they presumed him dead. He died of tuberculosis, in Shelby County Tuberculosis Hospital, named the Oakville Sanitarium, on Lamar Avenue, Memphis, Shelby County, Tennessee. They had the following children:
