On 20 Nov 1853 when Mary M. was 18, she married Jasper D.L. STOKES, son of Thomas STOKES (1806-) & Nancy PARSONS (1811-), in Carroll County, Tennessee. Born in 1829 in Carroll County, Tennessee. At the age of 38, Jasper D.L. died in Webster County, Missouri in 1867. Cause of death: Murdered by bushwhackers in 1867. Killed by outlaws in Missouri. They had the following children:
27. Alexander Campbell TUCKER. Born on 28 Mar 1837 in Carroll County, Tennessee. At the age of 63, Alexander Campbell died in Westport, Carroll County, Tennessee on 6 Feb 1901. Buried in 1901 in Tucker Cemetery, Westport, Carroll County, Tennessee. Religion: The Christian Church. Alexander C. Tucker, farmer of the Twenty-fourth District and son of Joseph and Nnaommaah (Johnson) Tucker, was born in Carroll County, Tenn., in 1837 and is one of a family of ten children, eight of whom are living. The father was born in Raleigh, N.C. about 1817 and is of Irish extraction. He emigrated to Carroll County, with his parents when a child and was married at the age of twenty. He settled in the Twelfth District, where he still resides. In 1862 he married his second wife, Caroline Black. He is a Christian and a much respected citizen. Our subject was reared under the parental roof and received his education in the country schools. Soon after reaching his majority the main support of the family devolved upon him, as he was the eldest boy, and as a result his education was rather neglected. In December, 1864, he married Martha Bell, a native of Carroll County, Tenn., born in 1849 and the daughter of William and Nancy Palmer. By this union our subject became the father of eight children, six now living: Nancy B., Percy Alex., S. Y. (deceased), Minnie Belle, Emma L., L. M. (deceased), Marietta and William Albert. Soon after marriage Mr. Tucker settled on the farm where he now resides, which then belonged to the family. He is now the owner of about 368 acres of productive and valuable land. He has always been a hard working, industrious man and has accumulated his fine property by his own efforts and good business management, He was formerly a Whig in politics but since the war has affiliated with the Democratic party. He is a Mason of long standing and he and Mrs. Tucker are prominent members of the Christian Church. The mother of our subject was born in 1819 and was a devoted member of the Christian Church. She was a kind parent, a true companion and a woman who was worthy the title of wife and mother. The children are all members of the same church. On 8 Dec 1864 when Alexander Campbell was 27, he married Martha Bell PALMER, daughter of William PALMER (1808-1876) & Nancy W. HARRIS (1808-1887), in Carroll County, Tennessee. Born on 3 May 1849. At the age of 57, Martha Bell died on 22 Jul 1906. Buried in 1906 in Tucker Cemetery, Westport, Carroll County, Tennessee. Religion: Member of Williams Chapel Church of Christ, Clarksburg, Carroll County, Tennessee. They had the following children:

On 3 May 1860 when Caroline was 17, she married John Benjamin LIFSEY, son of Edwin LIFSEY & ?, in Carroll County, Tennessee. Born on 1 Jan 1837 in Tennessee. At the age of 64, John Benjamin died in Westport, Carroll County, Tennessee on 27 Jan 1901. Buried in 1901 in Blair Cemetery, Clarksburg, Carroll County, Tennessee. 30. George Washington TUCKER. Born on 17 Jan 1845 in Carroll County, Tennessee. At the age of 87, George Washington died in Huntingdon, Carroll County, Tennessee on 10 Oct 1932. Buried in 1932 in Oak Hill Cemetery, Huntingdon, Carroll County, Tennessee. George W Tucker served in Company F, 7th Tennessee Cavalry, USA, during the American Civil War. On 22 Jan 1868 when George Washington was 23, he married Rebecca Jane KING, daughter of James Wesley KING & Rebecca Ann AUTRY, in Benton County, Tennessee. Born on 24 Sep 1853 in Benton County, Tennessee. At the age of 65, Rebecca Jane died in Carroll County, Tennessee on 18 Sep 1919. Buried in 1919 in Oak Hill Cemetery, Huntingdon, Carroll County, Tennessee. They had the following children:
31. Susan Angeline TUCKER. Born on 24 Nov 1851 in Carroll County, Tennessee. At the age of 72, Susan Angeline died in Greenfield, Weakley County, Tennessee on 24 Nov 1923. On 20 Aug 1867 when Susan Angeline was 15, she married Samuel W. WILLIAMS, son of Thomas WILLIAMS (1803-1852) & Harriet BLAIR (1809-1861), in Carroll County, Tennessee. Born on 27 Jan 1839 in Carroll County, Tennessee. At the age of 44, Samuel W. died in Carroll County, Tennessee on 8 Jan 1884. Buried in Jan 1884 in Blair Cemetery, Clarksburg, Carroll County, Tennessee. Religion: Member of Williams Chapel Church of Christ, Clarksburg, Carroll County, Tennessee. 32. Haywood TUCKER. Born on 24 Nov 1856 in Carroll County, Tennessee. At the age of 81, Haywood died in Wichita Falls, Wichita County, Texas on 17 Sep 1938. Religion: Member of Williams Chapel Church of Christ, Clarksburg, Carroll County, Tennessee. Haywood Tucker moved to Archer County, Texas, with the Birdwell family in 1890. He farmed there until 1907 when he moved to the Charlie Community in Clay County, Texas. He continued to farm for a short while until he retired. He never operated a hardware store which was run by his daughter, Era Tucker Block. He was very active in church work by starting a Church of Christ congregation which is still meeting to this day. On 12 Jan 1879 when Haywood was 22, he first married Lucinda Victoria SHANKLE, daughter of George SHANKLE ( 1832-) & Nervy ( 1838-), in Carroll County, Tennessee. Born on 5 Nov 1859 in Tennessee. At the age of 26, Lucinda Victoria died in Carroll County, Tennessee on 1 Oct 1886. Buried in 1886 in Blair Cemetery, Clarksburg, Carroll County, Tennessee. Resided in 15th District, Carroll County, Tennessee in 1860. Religion: Member of Williams Chapel Church of Clarksburg, Carroll County, Tennessee. They had the following children:
On 29 Jan 1888 when Haywood was 31, he second married Martha Jemima BIRDWELL, daughter of William Page BIRDWELL & Mary Priscilla HAYWOOD, in Carroll County, Tennessee. Born on 13 Sep 1859 in Carroll County, Tennessee. At the age of 40, Martha Jemima died in Archer County, Texas on 22 Sep 1899. They had the following children:
33. Nancy Emily TUCKER. Born on 20 Dec 1858 in Carroll County, Tennessee. At the age of 71, Nancy Emily died in Carroll County, Tennessee on 23 Jan 1930. Buried in 1930 in Tucker Cemetery, Westport, Carroll County, Tennessee. On 25 Nov 1874 when Nancy Emily was 15, she married Priestly E. HILLIARD (57) , son of William Jackson HILLIARD (20) (1827-1900) & Amelia E. WILLIAMS (1830-1889), in Carroll County, Tennessee. Born on 21 Mar 1856 in Carroll County, Tennessee. At the age of 62, Priestly E. died in Carroll County, Tennessee on 7 Jul 1918. Buried in 1918 in Tucker Cemetery, Westport, Carroll County, Tennessee.
