Martha Isabelle GROGAN. Born on 10 Nov 1849 in Tennessee. At the age of 88, Martha Isabelle died in Carroll County, Tennessee in 1938. Buried in 1938 in New Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery, Carroll County, Tennessee. Resided in District 7, Carroll County, Tennessee in 1850. Resided in District 13, Carroll County, Tennessee in 1930.

On 7 Jan 1870 when Martha Isabelle was 20, she married Johnny Oliver WALL, son of John H. WALL (1811-1901) & Tabitha Talley THOMAS (1811-1883), in Carroll County, Tennessee. Born about 1843 in Virginia. Buried in New Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery, Carroll County, Tennessee. Resided in 13th District, Carroll County, Tennessee in 1850.

Military: Served in Company G, 2nd Tennessee Mounted Infantry during the American
Civil War.

6. William Bartholomew GROGAN. Born on 12 Sep 1852 in Tennessee. At the age of 49, William Bartholomew died in Carroll County, Tennessee on 27 Mar 1902. Buried in Mar 1902 in New Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery, Carroll County, Tennessee. Resided in 6th District, Carroll County, Tennessee in 1900.

William Bartholomew married Mary Frances HOPPER. Born on 16 Jun 1854. At the age of 63, Mary Frances died in Carroll County, Tennessee on 17 Apr 1918. Buried in Apr 1918 in New Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery, Carroll County, Tennessee.

They had the following children:

Ora Myrtle first married Luther KIRBY, son of William KIRBY (1854-) & Sallie ? (1853-). Born in Apr 1880.

Ora Myrtle second married Charlie EVANS.

Ora Myrtle third married Homer Fay PEARSON, son of Dudley L. PEARSON (1865-1941) & Laura GREEN (1868-1947). Born in Jun 1896 in Carroll County, Tennessee. At the age of 63, Homer Fay died on 11 Dec 1959. Resided in District 5, Carroll County, Tennessee in 1910. Resided in District 5, Carroll County, Tennessee in 1920.

7. Elizabeth Jane GROGAN. Born on 2 May 1856 in Tennessee. At the age of 81, Elizabeth Jane died on 4 Nov 1937. Resided in District 13, Carroll County, Tennessee in 1930. Alias/AKA: "Lizzie".

On 7 Nov 1872 when Elizabeth Jane was 16, she married John R. BRANDON, son of Harrison Scott BRANDON (1822-1897) & Nancy GIST (1826-), in Carroll County, Tennessee. Born on 29 Mar 1853 in Carroll County, Tennessee. At the age of 76, John R. died in Carroll County, Tennessee on 26 Mar 1930.

They had the following children:

iii. William G.. Born in 1875.
iv. Jessie R.. Born on 10 Jul 1892 in Carroll County, Tennessee. At the age of 77, Jessie R. died on 16 Oct 1969. Resided in District 13, Carroll County, Tennessee in 1930.

On 7 Nov 1909 when Jessie R. was 17, she first married Guy W. PRITCHARD, in Carroll County, Tennessee.

Jessie R. second married W. Ben PRITCHARD, son of James Homer PRITCHARD Senior (1864-1953) & Maude SMITH (1865-1933). Born on 2 May 1897 in Carroll County, Tennessee. At the age of 66, W. Ben died on 13 Feb 1964. Resided in District 13, Carroll County, Tennessee in 1930.

8. Thomas Porter GROGAN Senior. Born on 29 Jul 1859 in Carroll County, Tennessee. At the age of 75, Thomas Porter died on 17 Jan 1935. Resided in District 13, Carroll County, Tennessee in 1880. Alias/AKA: "T.P.

TOM GROGAN came near meeting with a serious accident last Tuesday morning. He was standing before the fireplace in the rear of JASPER TATE’s saloon when the hearth gave way, letting him and the fire all fall through into the cellar, a distance of about ten feet. One of the dog irons struck him on the head, and he received a few scratches, but nothing serious.


Thomas Porter married Nancy Jane MURPHY, daughter of Gilson MURPHY (1849-1914) & Martha A. ROSS (1856-1932). Born on 23 Jul 1873. At the age of 78, Nancy Jane died on 1 Apr 1952. Resided in 7th District, Carroll County, Tennessee in 1920.

They had the following children:
i. Urias G.. Born in Aug 1891.
