Family of Captain James Cozart GOOCH (13) & Cordelia R WHITE

25. Hattie L GOOCH. Born on 17 Mar 1872 in Madison County, Tennessee.

Hattie L married Gideon S. PEARCY. Born in 1864. At the age of 36, Gideon S. died on 23 Mar 1900.

They had one child:
i. Evelyn. Born on 8 Jun 1896 in Jackson, Madison County, Tennessee. At the age of 89, Evelyn died on 17 Oct 1985. Buried in Oct 1985 in Hollywood Cemetery, Jackson, Madison County, Tennessee.

On 23 Jun 1915 when Evelyn was 19, she married Herren Carney PEARSON, son of John Lafayette PEARSON Senior (1860-1932) & Annie HERREN (1863-). Born on 31 Jul 1890 in Taylor, Texas. At the age of 62, Herren Carney died on 24 Apr 1953. Buried in 1953 in Hollywood Cemetery, Jackson, Madison County, Tennessee.

Herren Carney Pearson was born in Taylor, Texas. He was brought back to Jackson, Tennessee, at the age of six months. He graduated from Union College, in Jackson, in 1910 and from Cumberland College in 1912. He was a prominent Lawyer. He was married to Evelyn Pearcy. There were no children born to them. He served four terms in Congress. Senator Estes Kefauver stated, upon the event of his death, on April 24, 1953: "All of us in Congress who served with Herren Pearson are terribly saddened over his passing. When I first came to Congress in 1939, I gained a very high respect for him as a fine gentlemen and an able legislator with deep and abiding convictions. He accomplished much while there. Tenn. has lost an outstanding citizen."


26. James T GOOCH. Born on 19 Jan 1876 in Jackson, Madison County, Tennessee. At the age of 63, James T died in Los Angeles, California on 30 Oct 1939. Buried in Nov 1939 in Hollywood Cemetery, Jackson, Madison County, Tennessee.

James T married Louisa Aldridge CRITTENDEN. Born in 1890 in Greenville, Washington County, Mississippi. At the age of 75, Louisa Aldridge died in 1965. Buried in 1965 in Hollywood Cemetery, Jackson, Madison County, Tennessee.

They had one child:
i. James C.. Born in 1911 in Greenville, Washington County, Mississippi.
