Obituary: John Newton Fesmire was born in Henderson County forty-two years, eleven months and one day before his death occurred in Lexington at 2:00 o'clock p.m., last Saturday, March 22, after a heroic fight of ten days against pneumonia. His mother before marriage was Miss Mary Jane Cunningham, and his father, the late Dr. Abram W. Fesmire, who died twenty-five years ago or more after several years of service as a physician in his community some seven or eight miles northwest of Lexington. He is survived by his wife who was Miss Ethel, daughter of the late William Holmes, one daughter, many relatives and a host of friends. In November 1928, he joined B.F. Anderson in the purchase of the W.A. Bobbitt business, which seems to have prospered and in that short time Mr. Fesmire made additional friends, for he possessed that character of personality and straightforwardness of manner which drew people to him in the bonds of friendship. He possessed the confidence and esteem of all the people and had no enemies. The funeral service was held in the M.E. Church of which Mr. Fesmire was a member, Pastor G.W. Florence officiating, after which the body was carried to Antioch northwest of Lexington and laid to rest in the presence of one of the largest crowds ever assembled in a Henderson County burial ground, for Mr. Fesmire was widely known and respected.

In Feb 1917 when John Newton was 28, he married Ethel HOLMES, daughter of William HOLMES (-1927) & Isabelle LOWE.

They had the following children:
i. Infant. Born on 25 Nov 1917. Infant died on 25 Nov 1917. Buried in Nov 1917 in Antioch Cemetery, Lexington, Henderson County, Tennessee.

Obituary: Lula Myrtle Houston Fesmire was born July 25, 1895, and passed to her heavenly reward on October 7, at 4 o'clock a.m., in the Webb-Williamson hospital in Jackson. Her stay on earth was 48 years, two months, and 15 days. She was married to Willie J. Fesmire, December 24, 1913, and to this union were born two children, Houston Fesmire, and Ouida Taylor. She never joined any organized church, but frequently gave unmistakable evidence of being a Christian. She leaves to mourn her loss, her husband, the two children, one grandchild, David Fesmire, one brother, Arthur Houston, one sister, Maudie Hall, and one half-sister, Addie Bell Holmes, of Moscow. Her aged mother, Mrs. James Hamilton, also lives. An affectionate wife, loving mother, true sister, and kind and good neighbor, has gone to her reward while her husband children return to their home to find her seat vacant. It will be lonely without her, but the family has the consolation of knowing that she is through with intense suffering and that some day they will have the privilege of joining her in that happy place that she so often told them she was ready and waiting to go. Funeral services were conducted at Antioch Church by Rev. D.A. Bishop. Pafford in charge.

They had the following children:
419 i. Ouida Sue (1915-1947)
420 ii. William Houston (1918-2001)
