Obituary: Melba Taylor, age 78, died Sunday, October 19, 2003. Services will be Tuesday, October 21, 2003 at 3:00 p.m. at Reed's Chapel in Lexington with burial to follow in Waller-Douglas Cemetery near Bargerton with Brent McMinn officiating. Mrs. Taylor was born and reared in the Juno-Poplar Springs Community of Henderson County, daughter of the late John Wilburn and Lydia Douglas. Her love in life was family and friends. She was a long time member of Poplar Springs Baptist Church. She is survived by two children, Shelia Taylor White and husband Tracy and Tim Taylor and wife Judy, all of Lexington; seven grandchildren, Jeremy Beck of Lexington, Kimberly White Cammuse of Nashville, Alicia Beck of Lexington, Misty Taylor Coggins of Ft. Knox, KY, Julie White Climer, Tobey Taylor and Daniel White, all of Lexington and two great grandchildren, Alexis Beck and Jacob White of Lexington. She is also survived by four siblings, Mable Thompson of Houston, TX, Cleatus Douglas and wife Martha of Nicholasville, KY, Mary Melton of Hurst, TX, Joe Douglas and wife Tootsie of Lexington, KY, and a sister-in-law, Betty Jo Douglas of Parsons. She was preceded in death by brothers, Curtis and James Douglas and brother-in-laws, Carl Faye Melton and Tuffy Thompson. Our loss is heaven's gain. Melba Catherine married Leon TAYLOR. They had the following children:
339. Wilburn Cleatus DOUGLAS. Born on 21 May 1927. Resided in Nicholasville, Kentucky in Oct 2003. On 22 May 1954 when Wilburn Cleatus was 27, he married Martha Lee CARRINGTON, in Corinth, Alcorn County, Mississippi. Born on 8 Aug 1936. They had the following children:
Wilburn Cleatus and Martha Lee first lived in Memphis, Tennessee, then in Louisville, Kentucky, and later settled in Lexington, Kentucky, along with Wilburn's brother, Joe Douglas. Joe and Cleatus started their own business called Douglas Drywall in Lexington, Kentucky. 340. James Wesley DOUGLAS. Born on 27 Jul 1929 in Lexington, Henderson County, Tennessee. At the age of 71, James Wesley died on 24 Dec 2000. On 10 Dec 1955 when James Wesley was 26, he married Betty Jo WALLACE, daughter of Phillip WALLACE & Magnolia FLOWERS (1912-), in Corinth, Alcorn County, Mississippi. Born on 14 Jul 1936 in Bible Hill Community, Decatur County, Tennessee. Resided in Parsons, Decatur County, Tennessee in 1996. They had the following children:
341. Waymon Joe DOUGLAS. Born on 24 Feb 1933 in Henderson County, Tennessee. Resided in Lexington, Kentucky in Oct 2003. On 20 Aug 1955 when Waymon Joe was 22, he married Virginia Lee TODD, daughter of Dayton TODD (1897-1987) & Ora Matilda ADAMS (1897-1982). Born on 26 Jan 1935 in Henderson County, Tennessee. Resided in Lexington, Kentucky in May 1987. Alias/AKA: "Tootsie". They had the following children:
