Family of Elijah Henry DERRYBERRY (2) & Martha A. SHIPMAN

6. Cecil Cornelius DERRYBERRY. Born on 12 Jan 1874 in Carroll County, Tennessee. At the age of 68, Cecil Cornelius died in Milan, Gibson County, Tennessee in Jan 1943. Buried in Jan 1943 in Jones Cemetery, Parkers Crossroads, Henderson County, Tennessee. Alias/AKA: "Neely".

Obituary: 1Rev. L. H. Cotton of Milan conducted funeral services for Cecil Cornelius Derryberry at the home in Milan last week. Mr. Derryberry died Wednesday at his home following a long illness. He was a son of the late Elijah H. and Lottie Amanda Shipman Derryberry, and was born January 12, 1874, in Carroll County, and later moved to Henderson County where he lived for a number of years. Several years ago he and his family moved to Gibson County where they have since made their home. In 1892 Mr. Derryberry was happily married to Miss Adella Rogers and to his union were born several children. Three of these, Sula, Estus, and Ulah, have preceded their father in death. The children surviving are Onnie of Wildersville, Velman and Clifton of Jackson, Mrs. Ruby Douglas of Milan, and Mrs. T.H. (Beatrice) Fly of Humboldt. The remains were brought to the Jones Cemetery near Wildersville for interment.

In 1892 when Cecil Cornelius was 17, he married Adella ROGERS. Born in 1876. At the age of 86, Adella died in 1962. Buried in 1962 in Jones Cemetery, Parkers Crossroads, Henderson County, Tennessee.

They had the following children:
i. Estus. Born on 6 Mar 1898. At the age of 20, Estus died on 16 Oct 1918. Buried in Oct 1918 in Jones Cemetery, Parkers Crossroads, Henderson County, Tennessee.
16 ii. Ruby Gray (1903-1946)
iii. Sula.
iv. Ulah.
v. Onnie. Born in 1894. At the age of 78, Onnie died in 1972. Buried in 1972 in Jones Cemetery, Parkers Crossroads, Henderson County, Tennessee. Resided in Wildersville, Henderson County, Tennessee in 1943.

Onnie married Eron M. ?. Born in 1890. At the age of 70, Eron M. died in 1960. Buried in 1960 in Jones Cemetery, Parkers Crossroads, Henderson County, Tennessee.
vi. Velma. Resided in Jackson, Madison County, Tennessee in 1943.
vii. Clifton. Resided in Jackson, Madison County, Tennessee in 1943.
viii. Beatrice. Resided in Humboldt, Gibson County, Tennessee in 1943.

Beatrice married T.H. FLY.
