On 6 May 1956 when Bettie Lee was 20, she first married Gerald NELSON, in Sutherlin, Oregon. Born on 9 Sep 1934 in Harlan, Iowa.

They had the following children:
i. Cynthia. Born on 21 Jan 1957 in Roseburg, Oregon.

Cynthia married Kim SWINFORD.
ii. Deborah. Born on 2 Aug 1959 in Roseburg, Oregon.

On 26 Aug 1983 when Deborah was 24, she married Mike ESTES.
iii. Stephanie. Born on 25 Oct 1960 in Roseburg, Oregon. At the age of 16, Stephanie died in Roseburg, Oregon on 5 Mar 1977.

In Dec 1978 when Bettie Lee was 43, she second married Jess TORRES, in Roseburg, Oregon. Born on 3 Mar 1936 in Santa Barbara, California.

They had one child:
i. Jesse R.. Born on 28 Feb 1977.
