Laban Albert. Born on 8 Mar 1905 in Clarksburg, Carroll County, Tennessee. At the age of 75, Laban Albert died in Huntingdon, Carroll County, Tennessee on 1 May 1980. Buried in May 1980 in Carroll County Memorial Gardens, Carroll County, Tennessee.
Laban Albert Johnson, second son of Albert S. and Susan Flake Johnson, was born on March 8, 1905. He graduated from Clarksburg High School and later attended the Bowling Green Business School in Kentucky. Later he was employed as a bookkeeper for Wall-Johnson Chevrolet Company until called into the Air Force for two years during World War II. When he returned from service, he worked for the Taylor Pontiac Agency and married Lucille Giles a beautician in Huntingdon. He retired in 1977. Laban was an active member of the Huntingdon Church of Christ and died on May 1, 1980 after a long illness. He is buried in Carroll County Memorial Gardens.
In 1949 when Laban Albert was 43, he married Mary Lucille GILES, daughter of Robert GILES (1876-1938) & Mary Cora BLAIR (1878-1968). Born on 8 Jan 1906 in Carroll County, Tennessee. At the age of 95, Mary Lucille died in Holly Springs, Mississippi on 15 Jan 2001. Buried on 18 Jan 2001 in Carroll County Memorial Gardens, Carroll County, Tennessee.
Obituary: Lucille Giles Johnson, 95, of Huntingdon, died Monday, January 15, at the Alliance Health Care Center in Holly Springs, Mississippi. Services were held at 11 a.m. Thursday, January 18, in the Dilday Funeral Chapel. Brother Goodpasture officiated. Burial followed in the Carroll County Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Johnson, the daughter of the late Robert and Cora Blair Giles, was born January 8, 1906, in Carroll County. She was a homemaker and a member of the Huntingdon Church of Christ. She was married to Laban A. Johnson, who preceded her in death. She is survived by a niece, Bobbie Loftin of Red Banks, Mississippi; two great-nephews, Ross Loftin of Tupelo, Mississippi; and Markin Loftin of Red Banks, Mississippi; and a great-niece, Jean Loftin Hawkins of Como, Mississippi.
Labon Johnson and Mary Lucille Giles had no children.
