Family of Henry W. COX (5) & Martha Jane PRITCHARD

16. Henry C. COX. Born in 1846 in Mississippi. Resided in 7th District, Carroll County, Tennessee in 1870.

On 25 Oct 1866 when Henry C. was 20, he married Mary Ann ROSSER, daughter of William H. ROSSER (1813-1856) & Mary Jane PARKER (1824-1891), in Carroll County, Tennessee. Born on 23 Mar 1848. Resided in 7th District, Carroll County, Tennessee in 1870.

They had one child:
i. Martha J.. Born in 1868 in Tennessee.


17. Susan Morning COX. Born on 21 Dec 1849 in Mississippi. At the age of 38, Susan Morning died on 1 May 1888. Buried in May 1888 in Kee Cemetery, Clarksburg, Carroll County, Tennessee. Resided in 7th District, Carroll County, Tennessee in 1870.

On 13 Oct 1867 when Susan Morning was 17, she married Martin Luther KEE, son of Reverend James Henry KEE (1817-1879) & Sarah A. ? (1817-1860), in Carroll County, Tennessee. Born on 16 Mar 1843. At the age of 83, Martin Luther died in Lavinia, Carroll County, Tennessee on 12 Sep 1926. Buried in 1926 in New Liberty Cemetery, Carroll County, Tennessee. Resided in House # 1680, 13th District, Carroll County, Tennessee in 1850. Resided in 7th District, Carroll County, Tennessee in 1870.

Military: Martin applied for/and received an invalid pension #541,669/468,409. His widow, Ella P Kee received a pension in 1926 #1,556,325/A-2-2-"27.

Military: Martin Luther served in Company K, 2nd Tennessee Mounted Infantry.

They had the following children:
41 i. James Henry (1868-1945)
ii. Luda. Born in 1869 in Carroll County, Tennessee. Resided in 7th District, Carroll County, Tennessee in 1870.

42 iii. Josie Florence (1872-1943)
iv. Hassie Jane. Born on 10 Aug 1875 in Carroll County, Tennessee. At the age of 52, Hassie Jane died in Lexington, Henderson County, Tennessee on 6 Jan 1928. Buried in Jan 1928 in Lexington Cemetery, Lexington, Henderson County, Tennessee.

On 17 Mar 1906 when Hassie Jane was 30, she first married Robert W WALLACE, son of William WALLACE (1818-) & Lucinda W. ? (1828-), in Carroll County, Tennessee. Born on 17 Jul 1854 in Henderson County, Tennessee. At the age of 59, Robert W died in Lexington, Henderson County, Tennessee in Oct 1913. Buried in Oct 1913 in McCall Cemetery, Henderson County, Tennessee. Resided in 20th District, Henderson County, Tennessee in 1870.

On 16 Oct 1922 when Hassie Jane was 47, she second married R.L. McKENZIE. R.L. died in Bolivar, Hardeman County, Tennessee on 13 Nov 1929. Buried in 1929 in Lexington Cemetery, Lexington, Henderson County, Tennessee.

To Any Regular Minister of the Gospel having the Care of Souls, or to any Judge, Chancellor, or Justice of the Peace of Said County: These are to authorize you, or either of you, to solemnize the Rites of Matrimony between Mr. Martin L. Kee and Miss Susan M. Cox of our County, agreeably in the direction of an act of Assembly in such case made and provided. Provided Always, That the said, Susan M. Cox be an actual resident in this County: otherwise, these shall be null and void, and shall not be accounted any license or authority to you, or either of you for the purpose aforesaid were than through the same hand ever been prayed or granted. Given at the Clerk's Office of Said County.

This 7th day of October 1867.

18. John Benjamin COX. Born in 1856 in Mississippi. At the age of 79, John Benjamin died in 1935. Buried in 1935 in McLemoresville Cemetery, McLemoresville, Carroll County, Tennessee. Resided in 7th District, Carroll County, Tennessee in 1900.

In 1877 when John Benjamin was 21, he married Mary Emma ROSS, daughter of Frederick Issac ROSS (1831-1910) & Mary Jane SMITH (1835-1906), in Carroll County, Tennessee. Born in 1861 in Carroll County, Tennessee. Mary Emma died in Trezevant, Carroll County, Tennessee. Alias/AKA: "Emmy".

They had one child:
46 i. Posie Oscar (1878-1947)
